Hey there,
I was curious of whether somebody here has atained systemless root? I would like to use an app for 2-FA with my credit card that detects root and therefore rejects to work on a rooted phone. Does anyone have a viable idea on how to deal with this?
Cheers!
My bank app detecs also rooted phone, but i was able to get it work with rootcloak (xposed module). But hen again i have second app for nfc payments at does not work even with rootcloak
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
With current systemless root solution (magisk), it's possible to temporarily "unroot" via a simple toggle. It works with my bank's app with root detection.

One more advice, if I update my bank app for the recent version, it will not work anymore with rootcloak, but it might not be the with you bank. But if it stops working after update you should just return to earlier version and hope they have not blocked it

my daughter is very picky about her phone she won't let me rooted. so can some one recommend an app that would let me freeze/ disable apps on her phone with out root.???? thanks
You can freeze/disable apps in the App Manager settings menu.
However you can't remove/uninstall apps without root permission.

Some you can't even disable. Without root your just sol. Rooting is not bad and the towel root method doesn't trip knox.

Yes, but only some. You can disable almost all apps. And that is the only solution for OP, as his phone has not been rooted.

Ditto....sucks, but glad to see I'm not the only one having this issuem..thought maybe i did something wrong! Hopefully fixed soon!! Terrible SOT.. 1h 45min and only 10% battery left.. :-s i know it will take a few days to stabilize, but lack of Greenify isnt helping!
Try the greenify beta. Works for me when I hit 'Put into hibernation now'.

Confirmed!!! Nice tip, thanks! .
There is an update in Google play..
So its working now
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
If you are all on Lollipop, Greenify will not work in the normal way. It may work manually.
Greenify requires Xposed or root to work fully. Xposed for Lollipop is yet to come. May not come in the near future. I do not know whether you had root before Lollipop. You may have lost it. So you have to use non root option for Greenify to work.
Or simply root the device..

greenify compatible with lolipop may come in near future
gudluck
I don't understand. Greenify is working fine for me on Android 5.0... Why would it not work for others? My apps get greenified automatically in root mode.

I based my reply on the post by @petenatas who reports that Greenify is working for him in root mode on Android 5. I don't have Lollipop, so I can't confirm.
There is no official announcement.
Thanks.

I have now moved to Lollipop on my Nexus 7 and Greenify 2.5 works in root mode.
Thank you. Good to know. One down.
I now have to wait for xgravity, xprivacy to also work and all the lollipop bugs to be fixed..... ?
Anyone else notice that greenify makes the screen lock come back despite trusted devices connected? Or is it just me?
I unrooted my device specifically to play Pokémon Go. I was using SuperSU and ticked "Disable and Hide Root."
However the game is still unable to authenticate. I have read on Reddit that the Magisk work around no longer works as well.
Is there a way I can play the game beside buying a new phone and never rooting it?

You could always try an exposed module to hide your root, like RootCloak.

Is there any way to hide the Xposed installer from apps? I've tried sudo hide, Xprivacylua or whatever it is called.
Magisk hide doesn't work. I've Google searched it.
I play Marvel Future Fight, and no matter what, it sees the installer. Renaming the folder don't help either. Currently my only solution is to uninstall the Xposed app. Play and then install it after I am done.
It's inconvenient but it works. Just hoping there is a better solution.
Only other way i know of doing what you want to do is using TIBU to freeze app (in this case xposed) and just unfreeze when needed. This way you retain your settings in the app.

Not exactly what I'm talking about. The issue is not passing SafetyNet, it's the app seeing the Xposed installer app. Try for yourself.
Type in Marvel Future Fight in play store and try to run it.
All Google searches say to rename the Xposed installer app file. However, it doesn't work for me.

Well, try it see if it works. The reason Magisk can't hide regular Xposed is because it changes the system. EdXposed doesn't and can be hidden by Magisk.
That's why edXposed can pass Safety Net when regular Xposed can't.

EdXposed is the same as regular Xposed when it comes to Xposed detection. Even sudo hide is not working.

Just to be clear, the issue is the Xposed app itself.

I'm not sure... You could just try to use magisk hide in the Magisk Manager and hide root on the apps you want to hide... That might work....
But if you have supersu you would have to switch to magisk instead

Either way this is a starting point. Just have to search the forums

So I went through a lot of trouble and finally have Magsik and MagiskHide working on my phone. I hid the root from those apps but nothing has changed. Can you tell me which specific apps (including system apps) I've to hide the root from? Should the Magisk app also be hidden?

I hide root for banking apps... But to get the play store as showing Device Certified, I magisk hide almost every google apps (system apps as well which can be shown when you go to the 3 dot menu lop right corner when you go to magisk hide)
I also clear data and cache of google play services and google play store AFTER they are hidden...

Yea I did hide everything man. I think it's related to Knox and even though Magisk is making a spoofed Knox status of 0x0, maybe somehow Google is able to detect the actual tripped Knox.
I'll try the last option you mentioned though.
edit: didn't work.
I've given up and added my work account without the "work profile" option. The admin can remotely wipe all data from my phone but since I really needed the Google Classroom notifications, I had no other option. @Night_1 do you know how can I keep admin out of my phone now? while having the work account in the phone still.
