My phone is constantly killing the music apps I have running in the background playing. I am on official cm13 right now but experienced this with resurrection remix and miui 8 as well (even after locking the app in memory). I have this problem with both blackplayer and the cm music app preinstalled. My phone is the snapdragon with 2gb.
Can anyone suggest what i can try?

Try to enable Auto Start for these apps in Security > Permissions > Auto Start

Killing music app is something normal for MIUI, but in RR everything works fine for me, so it must be some kind of settings.
Did you set any apps limit in developer options?

Hmm. Do you use any "cleaning apps" like cleanmaster etc? Maybe they are set to automatically clean your device's memory.

Has anybody tried to set up Google Play Music in Greenify? I find it annoying that every time I go into Task Manager it's running. I've never used it. It shows 0% cpu usage but I just don't want it on.
Greenify doesn't want to shut off a system app though. I was wondering if it will really hurt anything.

Convert it to a user app instead of system and or turn off sync in settings.

Use the paid version and you can greenify system apps.

^^^ This! If you try out an app, like it, and continue to use it, support developers by getting the paid/donate version of their app.

Is the app running in the background? Is wifi killing these apps when you exit them? Come on people! It litterally says in the top of the forum, give as much information as possible and not as little.

Hi,
My Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 are running the latest "Stock" Android Lollipop with latest SuperSu & Latest Xposed, I have 20~ odd modules and the same apps that were on my devices when they were both on Marshmellow on which neither of the devices were having issues.
- My Nexus 4 randomly turns off and randomly reboots.
- My Nexus 10 randomly freezes, but only the touchscreen. The actual applications still work fine in the background because if a program is running on screen like a youtube video for example, it will still continue to play.
As far as I can see there is no pattern to the issues, how can I correctly see the necessary logs to try and find out what is causing the issues?
Thanks
I experience this problem always. As far as I can see the only issue is xposed try to uninstall xposed and clear davrik and see the results

Hi,
Got this off another site, works for me.
How to instant notifications MIUI8.
Security*app>Permissions>Auto-start>enable auto-start for every app you want instant notifications.
Security app>Permissions>Other permissions>enable Display pop-up window for every app you want instant notifications.
Settings>Battery & performance>Manage apps battery usage>Choose apps>Select your app>No restrictions
(Recent app menu>pull app down to lock in memory)

I have the US998 on 20H, unlocked with TWRP, rooted with Magisk 19.1. Whenever the TWRP flashable version of 20H was released, I upgraded from 20G. For some reason my games are now lagging, where the screen will pause for half a second then resume animations. I've tried game mode which will lower the frame rate and resolution but it's not a solution. This happens in other apps too, but is especially noticeable (and annoying) in games.
As best I can tell, this started a few weeks ago, but I can't link it to anything specific. In the recent past I've gone to 20H, I believe Magisk was incremented, and the games have updated as well. Is there a graphics setting that may cause the half second bloop? I'm ready to wipe and restore, if I thought there was a chance it might fix it.
Nobody experienced this? Is this a general android question rather than specific to this phone?

You could try this magisk module. I would look into recently installed apps running in the background. For instance, I have the Neutron app installed and sometimes I can see it scanning for new media in notifications. What'sapp location icon occasionallly appears in the status bar for a split second even though I haven't used its location service in days. I won't turn either of them off since I use them both but I'm sure Neutron slows my phone down.

This didn't seem to decrease lag, and it caused launcher redraws.

I did, it solved the redraws, but the lag is still there.

Backup everything in TWRP and do a clean flash. Then later on just restore data.

I didn't get around to wiping. At this point, whatever updates one of my games had last week seemed to eliminate it from that game (PaD). I also uninstalled some old games that I didn't realize weren't working anymore. I don't think I'm in dire need of a wipe at this point.
