Totally outdated, Need help on updating phone - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Hi, so I've researched for the past few hours on this but I'm still lost.
I'm currently rooted and on Jellybomb 2.0.0 rom and freeza beastmode 3.4.0 kernal. Android version is 4.3 and still on MJ4. Using TWRP recovery.
Yes I know, I'm years behind and just did not have the time to mess with my phone. I'm currently still using this as my personal phone and love it, no need to upgrade to the note 7. My question is, Can anyone help me update my phone to Cyanogemod 12.1?
From what it seems like, Backup data using Titanium Backup. I download the Cyanogenmod files needed and Gapps and place it into my SD card. I go into recovery and wipe the necessary files and then install the files needed and then install SU??
That seems simple enough, since I'm so outdated, is there any other steps I am missing? If anyone knows exactly what I am trying to do and knows how it should be done, would you mind providing me with instructions? I'd greatly appreciate it!!

Anyone?

HTC Amaze Roms with ICS OTA Question

Okay, so my HTC Amaze is set up like this: Officially updated to ICS via OTA from Stock gingerbread. Rooted and SuperSU installed via AIO toolkit, bootloader unlocked officially, 4EXT Recovery, and S-ON on stock Sense 3.6 rom. I want to install Speed Rom 6.0, SuperSayain, or FastAmaze (I really want Speed Rom 6.0), but I'm not sure if I can with my current configuration. If I can, can someone please give me specific step by step instructions? If this includes installing something, please include a link. Also, some of the roms mentioned that I need to install a kernel and firmware from ICS. How do I do this, and can someone please tell me where to get the correct downloads. If someone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
BUMP.
Someone please answer...
As per what is said in the speed rom 6 post you only have to worry about installing the ICS stuff if you are on gingerbread. You already updated to ICS so you don't have to worry about it. I have the same config as you and I am running Speed rom 6 so I would say it will work.
As for how: download ROM zip, copy to SD card, BACKUP YOUR NAND! or you'll regret it if something goes wrong, do full wipe with 4EXT, install ROM, reboot, have fun.
Out of curiosity for my own selfish purposes, what carrier are you on?

I'm on T-mobile. Thanks for the help. BTW, since you have this rom installed, does speed rom have beats audio and Google Now? If not, how can I add them? How about to the stock rom?

Oh, I forgot to ask, how do I backup the NAND?
No problem, Beats audio is listed in the change log as being fixed under version 4 so I would assume yes; as far as I know Google Now is not installed but a few seconds on a Google search of "how to install Google now" will give you a guide on how to do it.
As for the Nand backup here's a guide I just found http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-perform-and-restore-a-nandroid-backup/
To add them to the stock ROM I imagine that you would need to edit the ROM itself and essentially create your own custom ROM.
By the way, for future reference, I didn't know all this until I spent the last 2 minutes on Google. It is easy information to find and probably takes more time to ask the question on here then it does to find the answer through a search.
Good luck!

i am in need of serious help.lost all data

ok.hi everyone.
i just flashed a cyanogen mod 9 on my phone by using cwm.but things went really bad
all my backup files from titanium backup was deleted and so was all my recovery files
so basically everything is gone.
Now i loved the idea of rooting but i now think i need a lot more knowledge.
so basically i would like to
reinstall ics version 4.0.3 on my phone with its stock kernel..my phone used to be a galaxy s 2 I9100 xwlp8
the cyanogen mod does not even have an app to explore sd.
but its working.
what is the process to clean up my phone and add stock kernel, rom and apps.
please need urgent help.thanks.:crying:
can anything be done if i have an efs backup.plz need help urgently
now then,
just a little more info needed, its not quite clear from your post
1, can you switch your phone on to get into cwm
2, have you got the correct version of cwm installed, i had rhe same issue cannlt access sdcard a while ago
just for info cym romz are generally nightly builds and have a few kinks in them your best waiti.g a couple of weeks before dl,ing so some of these may be fixed (read this in another post sumwhere thanks for heads up whomever it was)
no expert but if you lost your efs folder i think odin can fix if you can get into download mode.
after this use cwm it highly recommended by all.
also next time you install rom steer clear of formatting anything it dangerous just wipe d'cache, cache etc as dev's post's advise where ypu get romz from.

Unable to root froyo 2.2 KB5

Hi,
I am trying to root a second T959 phone, my wife's, but am not having much luck. It is currently running Froyo 2.2 w/ KB5.
I tried using AIO Toolbox to root, but that did not work. The first problem I encountered is that it complained that 'verification failed' when I tried to reinstall package.
I searched through the forums, and found that I have recovery 3e. Noticed that on the recovery menu too. So I did what this thread indicated:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833423&highlight=root+3e
Ran the install.bat, and it did its work. I was still not able to apply the update.zip, but I was able to run 'SuperOneClick' to root the phone, or I thought. SuperOneClick reports that I have rooted the phone, but none of the apps think so. So right now, I am still stuck, with a phone that I cannot root.
I found this other thread talking about using ODIN to flash in a CWM instead of using recovery. I am a bit hesitant about this, as I am worried about flashing anything at this point without a backup.
I realize that I could ODIN to stock and I would be able to root and upgrade ROMs without problems, but I would really like to backup using Titanium before doing so.
Maybe I missed something somewhere, but is there a way that I can root this phone on the current fw?
Solved
Ok, found this thread with further searching, and it solved my problem.
Phone rooted and upgraded to JB! Woohoo!

You don't need a computer to flash a ROM. Find a ROM you like, I recommend a JB ROM as they are supported, anything prior will not be. Download the ROM zip and gapps zip if required. Use a root file app, I use root browser, and move the zips from
sdcard/download to sdcard. Boot to recovery, wipe cache, advanced>wipe dalvik cache, wipe data/factory reset, install zip from SD, install ROM then install gapps, reboot and profit!
*you might have to flash the ROM more than once as it has to update recoveries and partitions.

ty for your reply it was very helpful. i got impatient and flashed a ram before i saw it and everything went perfect. But i do appreciate not only the reply but the steps as well. i am now running iczen with subzero on my vibrant and its the most beautiful thing ive ever seen. lol. i dont even recognize my phone anymore and it feels like i just got a 800 dollar phone for free. i have even recommended every person i know with an android phone to join the site as well as read all steps carefully. thank you again sorry for the long post but i have just been so thrilled about the results i have got.

Backup & Restore

I've flashed my phone a few times before, but the last time I've done so, Titanium Backup decided not to work, so I had a newly flashed ROM but no data to go with it. I backed up everything on my phone once (by means of copying&pasting all of the folders) on my computer, but putting them back on my phone didn't do anything.
Now I want to flash again, but I'm clueless as to what app I should be using to back up my phone, and which app would make it possible for me to have my data backed up. I know it sounds a bit vague, but basically, I'm looking to back up my phone so that when I clear everything and flash it, I'd like to restore my apps as well as the data along with it (like high scores in games). Does anyone have any idea what I should do? I currently backed up my current ROM (Android 4.3 and HTC Sense 5.0) with ROM Manager (v5.5.3.7), but I don't know if I can use that back up since I'm looking to flash Android 4.4.2 onto it.
Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
EDIT: And I have one off-topic question... Should I flash gapps before or after flashing the ROM? I flashed gapps before and after last time and it worked fine, but I'm curious to know what the correct order is.

[Q] Trouble flashing CyanogenMod 10.2.1 Spyder

Hey all, just ran into some trouble trying to flash CM-10.2.1 onto my Droid Razr xt912
powered down and booted into recovery, luckily i backed up the stock rom, wiped the stock rom, and tried to flash the .zip file....the program said that the operation was successful, but upon rebooting, no OS loaded up...
the weird thing is that when i was testing out the release to see if i wanted to replace my stock rom, i loaded it onto a partition via safestrap and it seemed to work just fine..
anyone else have the same problems? can anyone think of anything i have done wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated. i realize that this post is slightly vague and i dont know much about flashing roms or anything, only what i have read online. so please by all means ask me anything! i am greatly interested in this ability of the android devices and am wanting to learn as much as possible!!!
thanks again in advance for any help
From what I've read it needs to be loaded onto a partition so if it works you did it right

Earlier CM 10 builds had a restriction. They can only be flashed on the Slot 1 using Safestrap. This was removed in CM10.3 so if you are trying to flash CM 10.2, you need to use only slot 1.
PS: The update script says that in flash process too.
