Galaxy Grand Prime G530R....anyone else????? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, new to XDA........I have been scanning thru all the discussion boards and i dont see my model # around.
Thanks Angela

Well, guess it may be time to get my hands dirty. I've used a number of resources from the wonderful Dev's here at XDA, to help my friends, family and myself. I believe our biggest hurdle will be the first one and that is to get a custom recovery that won't just get overwritten by the bootloader. I once had to use a 'Bump' to get one on my LG G3. I will begin with research..............................

[Q]CyanogenMod 9 Samsung Galaxy Xcover GT-S5690?

Hello guys, i have a request for all Samsung Galaxy Xcover GT-S5690 devs. Can anyone dev help me port CyanogenMod 9 for my Xcover? How can i do that if it's possible of course
Hi!
I'm no dev, but I got a GT-S5690 yesterday from someone who no longer needed it. I just ordered a replacement battery, and I was looking to find some custom ROM for it, but it seems there hasn't been much interest in developping ROMs for this device. Too bad, because even if the specs are not top notch, the fact that it is IP67 makes it a great companion for all kinds of activities (I'm fond of kayaking).
There seems to be lots of people wanting CM for that phone. I'm just afraid it might be impossible, otherwise I guess someone would already have published a zip file to flash.
Anyway, here's what I've found:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2441912&page=2
https://github.com/manakeri/android_device_samsung_xcover/wiki/Installing-CyanogenMod
I might give it a try when I have some free time. But I will first have to learn how to compile CM. It goes without saying that if I get it to work, I'll share the file.
Let me know if you find something on your side!
Cheers!

[Q] Wanting to become a developer for android.

I want to start learning the ropes in android development. I wish to learn everything I can know so that I can create apps and eventually custom roms to help the android community. I need tutors for this and I have a pc but I will not have access to it for a couple of months. I want to learn a little at a time so I can basically remember the details. I learn by doing so by the time I get my pc back it would be great to start learning then. Plus I need any tools necessary.
Thank You all for at least reading this and ahead of time thanks for the help.
P.S. I have an LG Optimus dynamic, Xelio Tab 7'', and Sprint Galaxy S3 (rooted and running CM 11 M8 broadband).
BTW can the moderator post this in the correct place because I posted this in the incorrect place due to force of habit. I'm used to posting in the thread based for my phone.
Hey medoerator. Can you help promote this so I can learn to help the community?
If not it's fine.

Alactel C1 (AT&T)

Hello XDA, I have an Alcatel C1 and its a lower price Android from AT&T. I am a major custom rom lover and can barely stand to leave a phone stock, But i cant seem to find any sort of attention to this phone from forums. I have it rooted (using kingo) but there isnt any sort of Custom Recovery or ROM for this phone. I see lots of people with this phone and also wish that there were more attention to this phone. I was looking around and there is apparently a phone called Alcatel "Pop" C1 that is the EXACT same thing and it has roms and attention, but it doesn't help cause that phone is not AT&T and doesnt have 4G like this one does. I really would like to see this phone get lots of roms and attention like the AT&T Fusion 2 did, and if people are willing to build a Recovery/Rom for this phone, ill gladly test it. Thank You!

Samsung Galaxy S 5 Active (AT&T) SM-G870A

Hello,
I believe there should be a section devoted to this phone just as there are to others. I know people, like my self would like to be able to root their device, and it would be much simpler to be able to go straight to it. I had done extensive research on this forum all day yesterday after "Soft-Bricking" my S 5 Active. To much of my surprise, I did not find a whole lot. One of the biggest issues I had was not being able to find the firmware for 5.0 for my phone to try to unbrick it. So, I would like to offer the Original firmware if someone can be able to give me instructions on how to create an image or whatever is needed. I still want to have my phone rooted but am very nervous to try again. I ended up having to drive 45 miles (1 hour) to the city to a warranty center to have it fixed. Thankfully they were able to and saw it as not my fault. However I want to help others while receiving some personal help from other members who have successfully rooted there Samsung Galaxy S 5 Active (AT&T) SM-G870A.
If their is a section already I apologize but I have not found it.
Thanks

Introduction and Help unlocking Samsung Galaxy S model Bootloader

Hello everyone, I am ne to the site and forums for Android software development. I have always wanted to explore Linux OS systems and devices for quite a while but never seemed interesting and now I see that it is very valuable to know and understand. I consider myself a tech but mostly for PC, I hold an AS on Computer Electronics and current going for my BS for IT in Cyber Security and Linux pops up. I want to root my phone but it turns out that the bootloader is locked and I was wondering if I can get some help from you fellow experts. The phone is a Note 4 from ATT with android 5.1.1 installed. Is there any hope for me or can there be a solution. Thanks in advance....
Unfortunately, the chances of the bootloader getting unlocked is slim to none. The phone is close to 2 years old and no one has figured out. The people that might have the knowledge or motivation to figure it out have most likely moved on. They don't even have root yet, much less the bootloader being unlocked. For future reference, if you want to learn about modding android devices, stay away from VZW and AT&T phones. They specifically ask the manufacturers to make it more difficult to mod their phones. Sometimes there are ways around it, a lot of times there is not.
