I have a surface pro 3, I install many times remix without a problem.
Yesterday I downloaded the rooted version to install, first I clean the drive where remix is installed on, try to install the rooted version and I noticed that the installer, after selecting the options and click ok it didn't do anything, it never install the os.
I tried the official version with official installer and is the same.
Tried older versions and nothing.
I tried cleaning the pc and re installing windows and nothing.
If I try installation on usb is all good!!!!
Don't know what else to try, I'm not very good at windows.
I'm sure that is a windows problem
Any help?
Thanks

When you install remix on hdd, u don't just clean it afterwards, u should use the uninstall.exe

Yes I know that now but besides that I deleted the partition and created another one but still no luck
Sent from my SM-N930F using Tapatalk
I wonder if there is another way to do it, maybe dropping the files in the partition?
Sent from my SM-N930F using Tapatalk
What exactly happens when you click install to hdd in the official installer? Nothing?
Sent from mobile
The ok and cancel button greyed out but nothing else.
Usually there is a pop-up window saying that the drive will be deleted bla bla bla
But it doesn't happen anymore and if I wait, after a few minutes the fans go crazy and start to overheat

The last version did that quite a bit, the update is much better and runs in the background.
If you're on the current version, try deleting the rom manager folder on your sd card.
Can also try deleting and redownloading the app and or clearing the data via settings/apps/manage applications.
If all else fails, send an email to the dev team. Connap is awesome and the whole crew respond immediately.
Good Luck!
Thank's

Hi, recently i had to switch to an xp laptop. I downloaded the latest Flashtool and pc companion and a few kernels. Upon trying to flash an ftf, i got an error saying drivers not installed. So i went to the drivers folder and tried to install with the tool. Said installation was complete. I tried to flash the kernel again, gave me the same error about no drivers installed. I then tried to use pc companion and also installed every possible driver in the provided tool. Still get the same error. So what now? I really wanna switch roms.

Did you try to reboot? Remove the driver from device manager, reboot, install drivers, reboot.

Have you tried with flashtool->driver->driver.exe in ft folder ? Along with adb selected?
Sent from my X10i using XDA
You need to choose from the Flashtool-drivers.exe to install "adb" and "flashmode" drivers.
Before connecting to flashtool put your phone in flashmode (power off phone, hold back key and plug in the cable while holdin, gren lite will lid).
Then you will see the cpomputer to insatlling some drivers. After that you'll be ready to go.
Yep, that's one of the first things I did. As for the second suggestion it starts installing the drivers but then my phone phone just turns back on and leaves flash mode. the computer freezes up and i have to reboot it... how can i install the flash drivers manually? The drivers.exe doesn't work, my phone misbehaves like i said above. Thanks so far guys!

Hmmm... Is xp recognizing your device as unknown device in devices manager? Try if it possible, to install it manual (going to unkonown device, install from cd as say (I do not remember) , and choose the .inf from the SEMC_signed folder in the flashtool drivers.) Are you sure that debugging is enabled?

Try to get into the recovery.
Wipe dalvik and cache partition
Fix permissions
Maybe will help this? Otherwise if it is a kernel issue as the friend wrote, we will try something different Also make sure, pc companion and SEUS are not running (check it through the task manager)
Edit: Which rom and kernel will you use? I'm using the xperia S ICS... it's amazing...
It's driver related i believe, I'll try that regardless... I'm on cm7.2 fxp 128 or 129, can't remember. Using cosmic ui kernel v3 with data extension enabled (or something like that)

See if there are some Wondows updates pending and install them.
Try to install flashmode driver manually. You will find one in the package here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582554
Okay, major update: the x10 drivers are fine as far as i can tell, however it is the Flashtool driver which is broken despite the drivers installation tool saying installation complete. To further compound the problem, after half a minute of my phone being connected in flash mode, the computer freezes up so only rebooting recovers it. So how can I manually install the drivers without connecting my phone? I've got a copy of the Gordongate folder, what next? Cheers!

Maybe your pc HDD has an issue,
Run "chkdsk / r" in a cmd prompt
And press Y when prompted
Just to make sure your drive hasn't gone dirty lol
That will do a disk check at next startup
Also try fully reinstalling flashtool 9

Recently just received a warranty replacement Note 2 and of course first thing I did was root and unlock it. After flashing a rom a indicator would pop up saying TWRP had lost root permissions and after selecting okay, fix permissions for it. I wrote it off not thinking much of it but after flashing a different rom the same pop up appeared again, still no problems. Finally my phone started locking up and today it eventually bricked up as I flashed a rom. No biggie, I flashed back to stock and am good to go but I just want to know if anyone else has come across this same issue as well?

Going through the exact same thing right now, same situation and all, did you get this worked out? I flashed back to stock just a couple minutes ago and am now in the process of flashing a custom rom again. Never experienced this before and been flashing on this phone the Note 2 since October. New phone, new problem. Used the Toolkit to do everything every time I get a new phone. This is my third.

Sorry for such a long delay in responding. I found a fix for this issue. I ended up just flashing all the way back to the original stock rom when the Note 2 was released then went about using the unlocking/rooting methods and have not ran into a single problem.

USB connection problems
Now I keep running into USB driver issues as of late. Don't understand why this keeps happening. Uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers and Note 2 connects for awhile and then completely stops. I can browse/edit items on the phone but cannot copy files over to it. A pop up saying it has been disconnected and cannot copy files to said device. WTF?!

What OS you on? Try a different cable and different usb port. Use the drivers from mskips all in one tool from the forum. Have you tried adb devices to see if it recognizes your device? If you haven't rebooted you rig lately do that and your device as well. I had this happen for a minute on Win8 I had to manually point the driver update to the file I wanted to use.

Way back when I got my Note 2.... the version of casual actually flashed a wrong TWRP , it was the one for the international Note 2.
The fix was to simply install the newest TWRP for our phone (SCH-i605)

Hey all. Decided to go back to Froyo stock. When I try to ODIN in download mode, it doesnt detect the phone!
Code:
MacPro:~ nomadman$ heimdall detect
Failed to detect compatible download-mode device.
I'm no OS X Mountain Lion. I tried ODIN 1.7 in WinXP virtual machine and it doesnt detect it either. I know the USB cables work. I use it to transfer my backup from the vibrant to my OS X desktop. I also tried using all the USB ports on the machine. Do you think it's because the vibrant is using a jelly bean custom rom? I've been at this for 3 days without getting anywhere.
in OS X Mountain Lion and virtual XP, i installed Kies Mini and all I get is "please connect your mobile phone" in Download Modes.
HELP?
edit: resolved
Have you tried nexus S drivers? Sometimes they are needed when on a ICS or jellybean rom.

I have no come across nexus S requirements. But i'll download the driver from samsung and see if Odin and Kies detects the phone in download mode. There is no problem detecting the phone when it booted up. adb detects the phone fine.
the nexus s has the same driver for the t-mo vibrant. Samsung_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.14.0
I installed that in windows several times.
Have you put the phone in download mode? Odin or Heimball wont detect it otherwise. Sorry if you have but you didn't mention it. Im not familiar with mac pc so not really sure, make sure it has admin privileges also.

Yes the phone is always on download mode every time I try to Odin or Heimball. It's just OSX or winXP doesn't recognize the phone at all. I really think I'm stuck without a downgrade option.
Is it possible to flash a zip file from ICS recovery to an earlier recovery so I can flash a froyo rom? This is really irritating.. Last ditch effort, i'm installing ubuntu on VM and see if I can odin that way. If not, then OS X is the issue and I have to find a PC to odin.

No, there are no stock flashable zip files. You can't go backwards, it will soft brick your phone. I have heard a few people say they have flashed from JB to Froyo but I personally have never tested it. Supposedly you can wipe data, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache, then format system under mounts and storage, then flash a froyo kernel and then a froyo rom but I don't recommend trying that. I would try a windows pc, sounds like its the mac having issues, not the phone.

If the new version requires a wipe then the chef will say so.

Ammm, yeah I know I have to follow the instructions, but here is the thing, the last time I had installed WhatsApp, Google Chrome, Some Games, and some other apps that do not appear on the installer. After the installation was completed, all of my old applications where gone, and even the Google Chrome app had to be updated.
This is why I have my question, if I select one again the applications that I want, then I'm thinking that this will once again, erase all of my older apps.
I just want to know if there is something special that I must do, for keep my old apps
Obviously if you choose to install apps as system during the aroma setup then you will lose the user version, how did you think you could have two versions of the same app?
