hi pal. i heard it can be done. but i tried on my windows gaming pc and i could not get it to work.
maybee with a mac or linux box. i didnt have access to them.
i bought a riff box jtag as i have an electronics business and i use to fix customers boards/phones.
i can unbrick yours if you pay postage costs. takes 2 mins to unbrick, takes longer to strip phone to get to jtag points.
jtag points are nice size for easy soldering.

[Q] LG Optimus L5 BIG PROBLEM

I bought LG Optimus L5 E610 few months but i rooted it just few days ago. After i rooted it i installed ROM Manager and installed CWM but my device was not in the lost so i selected LGE Optimus M+ (idk why). Then a friend of mine told me about the "cool app" Beats Audio Installer and i installed it. After i rebooted the phone the speaker started making crazy sounds. I read in the app's site that i have to install a ROM to restore the original sound driver. I decided to install the stock ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1790342 but when i tried to install it it asked me to boot in recovery mode and i accepted. After it restarted it showed this " Secure booting error! cause: boot certification verify. Now I want to restore it to its original state but i don't know how so please help me fast.
Read this, to install the correct CWM for your phone (you'll have to download the .img yourself):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827723
Then, boot to recovery & flash your fixes from there.
Alternatively, you can use the KDZ flasher to restore to pure stock.

Use this to download your original firmware.
Use this guide to flash it with the KDZ updater.
When it's done, you'll be back to stock ROM, and all your data will be gone. Don't play with your computer or have anything else running, because if your computer freezes during the flash (or you remove your phone's battery) your phone will be hard-bricked.
If you would rather save your data & only flash CWM onto the recovery partition, you need to find & download the .img or .zip file of CWM which was made for your phone, then flash it using Android Flash Recovery.

If your phone is only soft bricked LG will easily be able to tell you rooted it and "installed unauthorized software" on your phone and they very likely won't honor your warranty or offer to fix it. JTAG essentially allows you to restore your phone to its original condition if you have a brick or some soft bricks. What they do is they take apart the back of the phone so they can access the JTAG pads, they then solder wires to the JTAG pads. Next when a connection had been established they hook up the wires to a riff box using a ribbon cable, they then attach a cable from the riff box to the computer. From here they use a special program called Riff Box JTAG manager, to resurrect your device (Restore bootloader, etc.). After that they flash the original firmware that came with your device and your phone should work again.
For more information on JTAG check out these links and video.

Word of warning: Technically deliberating bricking your phone and getting an insurance replacement is fraud and is a federal offense. The right thing to do would be to bring it and attempt to explain your situation (Or you could play dumb, and maybe they'll help you again they won't be happy and you could be in trouble if they figure out your lying) there is a possibility they will fix it for a reasonable price. In the end you unfortunately might have to buy a new phone,

[Q] [Galaxy S2 bricked] Need tool

Hello,
My Samsung Galaxy S2 is bricked. No way to enter download or recovery mode. Black screen... nothing to do to fire it.
Probably the bootloader is corrupted.
Does exist a tool for Exynos 4210 / S5PC210 like the one from Adam Outler "Unbrickable" for Exynos 3110 / S5PC110 ?
Thank you,
Guillaume
Ps. no need to answer about JIG, it doesn't work in this case of figure. JTAG tools exist... Yes I know! thank you BUT needs to solder a tiny tiny JTAG connector... and I don't own a RIFF JTAG Box nether a schematic of JTAG pinpoints on Galaxy S2 mother board...
No way you can fix it. Take it someone who does JTAG repairs or get the MB replaced.

I flashed it longtime ago to ICS 4.03 / rooted with ODIN v3 - no problem at all.
Few weeks ago it crashed during firefox update... I reboot it, it crashed during the boot. I reboot it again and it got bricked!
That's nice, it just died on you?
Warranty is generally for two years...maybe there's still hope for you.

[Q] Bricked it again...

Sorry guys for spamming this **** now, I do need help, I am doing research already but I bricked my tablet trying to downgrade it. I am running 3.2.4, and I was trying to get 3.1.0 from this guide and I edited my build.prop like he said but I got it bricked when I rebooted it... It turns on when I hold down my power button it turns on, and I can boot into Amazon's default recovery. (the only one I have.) Please help me, I think it bricked because I edited my build.prop file, I can't seem to get ADB access, I am trying to get to it but please help me.

After so many people reporting about bricking after editing build.prop and not changing permissions , you went ahead and did the same thing! Nice job!
As of for now no solution to unbrick. The only way to unbrick it is to connect it with a fastboot cable, making it to enter a Qualcomm 9008 mode. After this you will need some files (.mbn programmers, WICH ARE NOT AVAIABLE, dont try people have tried and failed) so you can enter Download mode 9006. And then flash every single partition in Linux with dd comand.
I had a Thor in this mode (got it from a friend for free), and couldn't unbrick it, so I went to eBay and bought a Motherboard for $39.
I suggest you do the same...
Good luck

Hi, you need to understand that after a brick the only part of the tablet that is not woking is the Motherboard (just the memory chip to be precise, but it is attached to the motherboard), the other parts of the tablet are perfectly working. So you just replace the Motherboard and you have a brand new tablet, which means you get new cpu , new memory chip, new software ect. Remember that you should find the exact motherboard for your tablet. And you need to be handy opening a device, trust me , its not that easy and you can crack things very easily. If you need to make any questions feel free to PM me, im talking from experience.

Your dead mainboard would make an excellent guinea pig for developing an unbrick method. I'm sure we can find someone on the forum with the required knowledge and equipment that is willing to help. If you're willing to let it go, of course.
Thankyou for everybody
I will´ing to buy used mother board by ebay but i did not. because just item´s cost $35 but shipping fee $46 by usps. I think total $81 cost not benefit. so after sell my device $45 and buy used one(just one month use) only $140. I´m satisfied with my decision because my break kindle is 7inch wif only 16g storage but new one is lte and 64g wow upgrade my device i´m happy Kindle is not popular in my country so new one is $180~190 lte 64g so i decide this method. um~ add answer above qustion i cant replace my device because i did´nt regi. amazon and i lost my device serial number so amazon says they cant replace my device thankyou every one and one more question? I just use my device? How do i regist used device?
My dead motherboard is not useful to anyone, everybody needs the leak of the programmers for the snapdragon apq8074. Until that happens nothing will help...

[Q] help unbricking my moto z

hi
my phone is bricked and as i unlocked the bl moto voids the warranty.
i need help if someone is ready to do the following:
Get an external MicroSD card with “exfat” system file, and the size of this SD card should be larger than 16 GB, which is the size of the whole partition.
Do a complete factory reset on the phone. If a custom recovery is installed, use it to wipe data, cache, and internal storage.
While the sdcard is in the phone, run the follow commands via adb
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/storage/sdcard1/backup.img bs=512 count=30535646
The size of the backup.img is around 16 GB, However, if compressed would be about 2 GB
then upload the emmc image so i might have a chance to unbrick
using hdd raw copy tool
UPDATE 2017-feb-02:
moto replaced my unit

Oh man... How this could be happened exactly?
Anyway, instructions you provided could be right (I know quite all programs involved...), only some notes:
- it's better to use a just formatted PC to do the work (and be ready to reformat eventually). Use Windows 7 64 bit and Administrator user to have no hassle...
- it's not really needed to factory reset phone before backup command... Problem is that if someone don't, you'll restore all his private data too...
- external SD is not really needed as ext4... Even exFAT would be fine (only problem is the 4GB limit of FAT32). exFAT is even better because it could be read on Windows PC too (by who will send it to you...), while ext4 requires linux PC or some software on Windows...
Said that, I really can't, but there are A LOT of user here that are testing some firmware every day (read: e.g. testing for @janjan ) that can help you for sure... Stock software isn't really needed to unbrick: only a rooted working one is enough...
Good luck bro'...
thanks
data is no problem as u cannot access it anyway..

Yep BL unlocked, I know that unlocking it voids warranty but hope they do something :fingers-crossed:
Pal, put a short request and a link to this help thread in this discussion: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z/development/twrp-ported-to-moto-z-eu-version-t3470920
There should be some people that could easily help there...

it's hard brick
no screen on
detected by computer as com port:
qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008
meaning u can only access it as described here:

Did you followed these steps described in above links. I can take a look if you are close to my country Denmark. Can you boot in bootloader mod? Did you look at RSD ? Many possibilities there but difficult to help someone without the device. Hopefully you can solve your problem.

Are you sure that's how it works, cause mine is also from UK, but I live in Poland, and the idea of sending it to the other side of the continent if something happens sound kind of silly to me, I mean, can't they just let you ship it to your closest Motorola service
no
i contacted mot us and they only deal with us units
had to contact moto uk
janjan
this brick means no screen
no bootloader or recovery mode
not fastboot or adb
only com port via qualcomm utility

Good news ! MOBO collaborates with Motorola here in mexico on repairing devices, I took my device to them and left it there for a couple of days. Today I phoned them to see the status, IT'S REPAIRED! :highfive:
thanks
will send it to moto then
hope uk are ok as mex
Is this issue resolved? If not may be I can assist you fix this issue. I too went through same steps.
it's not resolved
if u succeeded plz give some info how
i got sahara fail every time
Ok... You need to manually flash using fastboot command the firmware xt1650.246.45 (search blog you will find it, I can't remember link right now). Ignore any error messages while flashing.
After flashing, boot to recovery (stock recovery that was flashed manually earlier). Choose update from ADB, now sideload nougat firmware. After completion again boot to recovery and clear cache. Now you are done.
But your bootloader must be unlocked for this.
Thanks.
u missed big time
had i got any fastboot access then it was not bricked
unless u have found a way to fastboot in "qualcomm 9008 mode"

[Update] unbricked my mi box s mdz-22-ab

[Update]
Solved the issue
1. Go to this link 4pda . ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=399304&st=600#Spoil-55136455-3
(Of course without spaces)
Or just search on google for "4pda forum" then in the forum search for mdz 22 ab
2. You will find a tread with someone holding a mi box in hand. Enter and read the instructions, translate it because it is in russian.
3. Download usb tool and rom
4. Open box back plastic cover, inside you will see a metal cover. Remove it carefully with a tweezer. Careful not to scratch the board.
5. Install usb tool with drivers, unzip rom. Open usb tool, load rom, insert usb male in box and the other male in pc.
6. This is the tricky part. Click start, shortcircut with the tweezers the test point and the metal frame and PLUG IT
7.If done correctly it should recognize and start download.
8. If it gives an error, repeat, uninstall usb drivers, reinstall, retry. Mine worked after 20 attempts. You need patience.
THANK YOU VLADIMIR UHLIR FOR THE INSTRUCTIONS!
Hello, sometime ago I did a pretty stupid thing with an usb stick and wrote on my mdz-22-ab firmware for mdz-19... something..
Long story short is bricked.. only a red light in the back of the box, no signal to hdmi.. nothing else
Can you, please, be so kind and tell me if it is any way to unbrick it?
Thank you so much for your patience!
It seems not a lot of people made stupid mistakes like me!

Hi, I had same problem like you. I fixed it using USB Burning Tool and flash image file from: 4pda forum (I'm not allowed to post link to external site)
You can find here mdz-22-ab image as well as instructions how to get your Mibox to "worldcup mode" (you have to disassemble device first), than you will be able to flash that image and bring your bricked Mibox back to the life. URL link for USB burning tool 2.1.7.3 is not valid, so I used version 2.1.7.0 which I found somewhere.
Hope it will help...
Thank you! You saved my device!

Amlogic_USB_Burning_Tool's Config should be Erase flash - Erase normal.
If set to Erase flash - Flash all , DRM key will be deleted and amazon video/Netflix will not work,
I did it ... how do I restore the DRM key?
