Received my Gear Fit 2 earlier today and am attempting to set it up. Downloaded Gear Manager and the app can see the watch just fine, but it hangs on "Connecting to Gear," eventually telling me that setup is taking too long and to try again. Has anybody run into a similar issue? Any solutions?
2 different things happen. The GF2 presents me with the "Download Gear Manager software" message, which I did, then attempted to connect via that software. The GF2 shows "Setting Up" but hangs, and gives the message "Setup is taking a long time. Try again?" Hitting try again renders the same result. Sometimes that Setting Up screen just never appears, and the "Download Gear Manager" message sticks around. Gear Manager just shows "Connecting to Gear." I left it trying to connect for 2 hours. No dice.
I can set the watch up fine without connecting to my phone, but that's rather useless to me.

I have the HTC 10 as well and I ran into the same issue. Download and install the Samsung Accessory Service app from the Play Store. Once that is installed, retry the process, and you should be able to connect now. Let me know if this works for you.
Try using openfit. You can find it on the Google Play store, it's by SolderByte

Hi all.. I just got the padfone x a few days ago and I am noticing very odd behavior with the iHeartRadio app and was wondering if anyone else has noticed the same thing. When I first installed IHR it worked just fine. I was able to use it in both phone and tablet mode without a problem. Now whenever I try launching the app I get an error that says that the app has been disabled and does not work in phone mode. I went so far as to actually completely reset my phone and start over from scratch. That fixed it for a day and now it is doing it again. I made sure that the app was not active for dynamic display and it is not. In fact it doesn't even show up under the app list there. It does show up under my settings menu under installed apps. I deleted the cache and data for the app and it didn't change anything. I installed the iHeartRadio Auto app to see if that would work and it works just fine both ways. If I dock my phone to the tablet then the regular iheartradio app opens just fine.
Has anyone else encountered this error? I did try to reboot the phone, restore it, remove the app, and then tried installing it again. That was the worst thing I could do as it wouldn't even install again from the play store. I got an error saying it was not able to be used from phone mode then got a -10 install error and it wouldn't install. Very frustrating.
Right now it is installed but can only be used in tablet mode. Thoughts?? Thanks ?

Same issue, my first time opening the app with the phone this happened. Very frustrating.
Have you found a solution since then? Auto is better than nothing, besides I only listen with headphones.
Im going to see what happens when I message them.
I ended up getting frustrated and exchanged the phone for something else. Definitely a problem with Android on that specific model since no other phone since demonstrated the same behavior. Good luck!

I encountered a strange problem that happened at the beginning when my Gear S was connected to my Wife´s Note 4 and now it happened with my Note EDGE:
On Saturday connection was just normal (as it was for the entire week since I have my Note EDGE), but when I tried to connect on Sunday the pop-up window "connecting" with the circling circle appeared, never vanished and Gear Manager hung up, BUT: when looking into BT-connections it stated: connected, when looking on my Gear S BT-state told me: not connected.
Had to uninstall Gear Manager, reset Gear S, reinstall from scrap, now it´s working again.
Anybody has a clue why and how this happens and how to solve ? It is tremendously annoying to reset the Gear S once a week and reinstall everything from the scrap, loosing all S Health data on the watch .............
(Sorry: did a search in XDA on this topic but did not find anything, so if already a therad concerning this exists: maybe I am too dumb for a correct search.....)
I think I am having a similar issues. My excercise is logged on my watch, but won't sync with shealth.

how can I fix it, please help me.thx.
I've found that there are apps that cause the Bluetooth not to automatically reconnect once you're back by your phone. Is this what you're talking about? If so start deleting one app at a time and reboot every time.

Hello everybody. I received a new Gear S has a present. Yesterday it was working, but today everytime I connect it to the phone, a message appers saying "The program saproviders has stopped", making the phone unusable. every time I click ok it keeps popping up agian until I disconnect the gear.
I have a Samsung S4 with Thunder Universe Rom, that I was using with the Gear 1 with no problem whatsoever. The fact that I don't understand is why it was working yesterday with the gear S (just paired and use it out of the box), but it is not working today. I did not do anything exept charging the gear.
i tried unpairing the Gear 1, I thought there could have been some conflict, but did not make any difference.
I tried to uninstall and install the gear manager and pair the Gear S again, same problem. I tried uninstalling the saproviders application using TB, it reinstalls immediately by itself and keep crushing as soon as I connect the gear.
it works only if I freeze saproviders, but of course this limits some functionalities (like controlling music from the phone, for example).
I don't think it has anything to do with the ROM, because it was working yesterday with the same ROM. It is driving me insane.
Any ideas?
thank you very much in advance!

Try to Reset your gear S to factory definitions.
It sounds stupid but this happened one time on my gear fit, just was connected to my PC with the ODIN program open doing nothing, and I was on my phone trying to install the gfm (because I can't pair my note 5 with the gear fit), and suddenly I saw something on the watch's screen and I couldn't believe I was on the menu, I wanted to active the bluetooth and make it visible but it wasn't responding the visible option so that's why I had to restared, so now I'm back again in the activation screen :crying:
I have 1 week trying to figure it out what could I did, but I give up. Someone can help me?

probably same method as others. press the name on the watch about 25-30 times. afterwards a message will pop up, wait until it disappears. press and hold the name again for a few seconds and it should get in.

looking for a bypass too. i use a Jolla Sailfish OS Phone and cant install the gear Fit manager (get parsingfail message). Is there no cfw to bypass it?
I haven't used the watch for a while. Today I reset it and tried connecting it to my new phone (redmi note 8), and it's stuck telling me to "continue setup on phone screen". The wear os app on the phone says its connected, but the watch is stuck. I cannot find the Zenwatch manager app on play store either. Am I missing something?
Even I am facing the same issue the watch isn't being detected @Asus we need a solution, u can't just make the watch useless
Hello, you have to download and install the Zeenwatchmanager as apk from for example apkmirror. Without the Zeenwatchmanager, I was also unable to connect the watch. Afterwards, the Zeenwatchmanager can be uninstalled.
