This is a quick guide to enable navigation bar on any android device. So first of all I tell you that you require root access for enabling navigation bar. If u don't know how to do that so, install Kingroot and root your phone with it.
So my guide starts now:
1. Install Root Browser from Google Play Store.
2. Open Root Browser and grant root access.
3. Navigate to /system/build.prop.
4. Open build.prop using Text Editor.
5. In the end, just add this line:
Code:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
That's it! Do a full reboot and enjoy

Yes, I deleted the Line and was fine.
Do you think will work if I install xposed? I mean a module that "force" a navbar.

Nah , I actually tried that . only apps can give us a working nav bar with unsopported systemUI, why don't you try to install a rom, or decompile the systemUI and add nav bar into it
Is there an adb trick for this to work on non rooted phones
Great.. Working... Can we change the icon or the color?

How to install the Xposed Framework and Use it ( Thanks to Rovo 89)
I made this guide because I thought the RAZR community lacked the knowledge about these xposed frameworks and how to use it. Only a few devs have actually implemented it. I have made this as simple as possible.
I have moved this thread here because the old one has been made for apps only
For the framework:
Download XposedInstaller.apk and install it ( download below)
Launch the Xposed Installer and click on "Install/Update"
Reboot
Done!
For any modifications/modules you want to install:
Download .apk and install it ( first install the app settings)
Launch the Xposed Installer and go to the "Modules" tab (you will also get there if you click on the notification warning you that the module is not enabled yet)
Enable the module by checking the checkbox
Reboot
Done!
Instructions for using modules :
Starting with Gmail
At this point i believe u have rebooted your phone after installing app settings and before that the Xposed installer itself
Open app settings and search for Gmail.
To get the kind of result displayed below
1. Change Screen(dp) settings to preferably 600*1024
2. Change font scale to 80 otherwise the dual panel will look messed up.
3. I would suggest u change the orientation to always landscape - worked best for me - depends on your liking
press the save button on the right top corner (then press yes) and check your newly designed gmail app right away
You can tinker with the settings and change it to your liking
Now lets move on to System Settings menu. (Dual panel!)( If u dont use Liquid smooth or AOKP)
search for settings in App settings
in the settings menu
Change DPI to 160
Screen(dp) to 1000*1600
and font scale to 130 ( ORIENTATION PREFERABLY ALWAYS LANDSCAPE )
Now save and check it out!
For the same thing - But If u use LiquidSmooth or AOKP)
Search for force dual panel in your system settings menu and check it.
Then go to app settings -> settings -> and then
Change DPI to 160
Font Scale to 110
Save and enjoy!
Now one last example for the PLAY STORE
Search for playstore in the app settings list and enter it.
Change DPI to 160
Font Scale to 110
Screen(dp) to 1000*1600 ( ORIENTATION PREFERABLY ALWAYS LANDSCAPE - YOUR CHOICE - WORKS BOTH WAYS )
Additional Settings for each app:
1. U can check fulscreen to disable statusbar in that app
2. Check screen on to change display timeout to never!( it will always stay on in that ap
3. Go to locale settings and select the language u want to display it in!

I want to try this and I have a question, the xposed .apk installer, must be the one you attached to the thread, or we could use the "generic" one (here) which is a newer version?

I am using BOBCAT Rom v12 (NI4) where xposed framework is pre installed. I opened xposed, clicked install/update it showing me the following error
"Copying Xposed-Disabler-Recovery-zip...
Mounting /systen writable...
Backup already exist at /system/bin/app_process...orig
Copying app_process...
cp:write error: No space left on device
Could not copy app_process to /system/bin"
I have tried disabler_xposed.zip via recovery mode but no result.
Changed the installation method of xposed....no success either.
The rom is working fine except modules cant be used.........
Any suggestion...................
Thanks in advance.
Solution of xposed framework installation problem

Hi Guys,
This is a quick dev guide to enable navigation bar for MyPhone A919i and Micromax CanvasHD.
The Jelly Bean operating system brought a whole new fluid user interface and some major tweaks.
"The soft keys were still there and i know many many guys very badly want those soft keys and it required lot of hassle on ics. But it is a lot easier on Jellybean. Either you can use the same method (if you prefer to) or you can try the new easier, safer and shorter method. And the best part is the soft keys work on STOCK ROMS!"
Now it’s time to edit! :victory:
1. The first and foremost thing you need is ROOT!
2. Then you will be needing a app on your device to edit the build.prop file. I recommend downloading ES File Explorer or Root Explorer from the play store.
3. First, backup your rom!…if anything goes wrong you will be able to restore it.
4. Open root explorer and navigate to the build.prop file in system/. Open it via your favorite text editor and look for qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 and change it to qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
5. And save the file. Now reboot.
You’re all done! Enjoy your on-screen buttons!
If you decide you don’t like them, simply change the "0" to "1" and you’re back to normal.
Please hit thanks and give credits.
There is another way to get this right. Root your phone!!! Install Xposed Framework. Then Install Gravitybox mod. Now Gravitybox 2.4.1 has the option to override system and enable this navigational bars on screen. Not only that. It also allows to customize the navigation bar which is not possible with your way.

I have seen many of people talking that there phone do not have a navigation bar .
Now today i am posting two ways for enabling navigation bar.
The first one is manual and have less no option of re-sizing or color it but the second one is easy and have many further options in it.
First one manual enabling:-
-first of all your device should be rooted and given super user privileges.
-Then you should be having a root explorer any of it will work but i use es file explorer.
-Then open es file explorer and open device/system/build.prop and then click es note editor.
-And add the following lines to the end of it
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0-at last reboot your phone and you are done.
Now second method easy and have more options in it like re-sizing color etc.
-first of all talk about the requirements
you should be having a rooted phone, Xposed installer.
-now open xposed installer and click framework click OK.
-Then click install/update and click reboot.
-After reboot open xposed and click download and search for gravity box[JB].
-Scroll right and click download and after download install it.
-After install reboot your phone again and after reboot open gravity box .
-Now click navigation bar tweeks and enable navigation bar and choose other tweeks you want.
-And reboot your phone to see changes.
-And you are done.
Don't Forget To Click The Thanks Button Below If I Helped You.
Confirmed working on lg 5ii e450
Thought i'd make flashable zip to enable or disable the nav bar.
You don't need to search into the build.prop and change values...the zip does it for you
Working on : A2017X
It's scanning for those "lines" and replaces them with the proper ones. The scripts makes a build.prop backup itself just in case
Don't know if it works on U or CN. As this zip is fairly harmless someone can test, but out of experience the U and CN(don't know for sure) models are stubborn on removing or adding the nav bar...
INSTALL:
1. Download A2017G navbar remover or A2017G navbar enabler EDIT : or the aroma A2017G NavBar Df!nR
2. Put zip into root extSD ( or intSD )
3. Boot into TWRP
4. Install
5. Reboot & Done !
You'll always be able to revert. No worries.

REALLY JUST FOR FUN
I made an aroma installer for the 2 of them. So just choose the one you want

^ @ rayster, funny thing you released this mod, it was me who recently opened a forum asking how to remove/hide the navigation bar.
I am still waiting for my Axon to arrive, still unsure what version it is. All I know is I got an sms message saying the package is out for delivery.
Then I'll run the toolkit to unlock the bootloader, gain root and recovery. Finally I will be able to flash your rom.
