I think it would work on GB but you would also need to change statusbar_background.png in systemui to a transparent image. I'm pretty sure the patcher only changes the smali edit and doesn't change the png.

Yup u have to manually edit the status_bar.XML and then copy and rename the status_bar.png then recompile the systemui.apk to get the matching notification area

First replace the background image in SystemUI.apk.
1. Open systemui with winrar.
2. Extract res/drawable-hdpi/statusbar_background.9.png and make it completely or semi transparent.
3. Drag the edited image into the winrar window overwriting the original.
4. Push it to the phone.
Second run the patch. Pulling, patching, and then finally flash the patched zip.
If there's also a statusbar_background.png (no .9) edit that one the same as the other.

When I run patcher.bat, I pull the files from my phone, then I try to enable statusbar transparency only and an error box pops up saying Windows cannot find 'temp/SytsemUI\smali\com\android\systemui\statusbar'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. On the command prompt window it says something like:
A subdirectory or file temp already exists.
A subdirectory or file temp\backup already exists.
Unable to access jarfile C:\Users\FAMILY~1\AppData\Local\Temp\Rar$DI11.888\\tool\apktool.jar
Unable to access jarfile C:\Users\FAMILY~1\AppData\Local\Temp\Rar$DI11.888\\tool\apktool.jar
The system cannot find the path specified.
Any ideas?
Edit: Never mind, a stupid mistake.
Doesn't work on GB. It kind of overlapped my current statusbar creating a sort of blur. But it doesn't make it transparent.

I knew that before I tried it. Someone was curious if it would work on GB so I tested it out.
can you share the transp systemui?
thank you
I'm running CM7 pre-beta and I'm using the MIUI theme. I ran the patcher.bat and selected transparent status bar only. I get my statusbar_patch and undo zips but when I install it I have no statusbar at all. And when I run the undo zip I still have no statusbar. What exactly did you guys do to get it to work? I installed the patch and uninstalled it several times already.
Try these, make sure the wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache also
Sometimes the notification bar is transparent for me and other times not. I flashed this patch with romracers cwm and seems to go smoothly. Any guesses? I have wiped cache, davlik cache numerous times.

How to install the Xposed Framework and Use it ( Thanks to Rovo 89)
I made this guide because I thought the RAZR community lacked the knowledge about these xposed frameworks and how to use it. Only a few devs have actually implemented it. I have made this as simple as possible.
I have moved this thread here because the old one has been made for apps only
For the framework:
Download XposedInstaller.apk and install it ( download below)
Launch the Xposed Installer and click on "Install/Update"
Reboot
Done!
For any modifications/modules you want to install:
Download .apk and install it ( first install the app settings)
Launch the Xposed Installer and go to the "Modules" tab (you will also get there if you click on the notification warning you that the module is not enabled yet)
Enable the module by checking the checkbox
Reboot
Done!
Instructions for using modules :
Starting with Gmail
At this point i believe u have rebooted your phone after installing app settings and before that the Xposed installer itself
Open app settings and search for Gmail.
To get the kind of result displayed below
1. Change Screen(dp) settings to preferably 600*1024
2. Change font scale to 80 otherwise the dual panel will look messed up.
3. I would suggest u change the orientation to always landscape - worked best for me - depends on your liking
press the save button on the right top corner (then press yes) and check your newly designed gmail app right away
You can tinker with the settings and change it to your liking
Now lets move on to System Settings menu. (Dual panel!)( If u dont use Liquid smooth or AOKP)
search for settings in App settings
in the settings menu
Change DPI to 160
Screen(dp) to 1000*1600
and font scale to 130 ( ORIENTATION PREFERABLY ALWAYS LANDSCAPE )
Now save and check it out!
For the same thing - But If u use LiquidSmooth or AOKP)
Search for force dual panel in your system settings menu and check it.
Then go to app settings -> settings -> and then
Change DPI to 160
Font Scale to 110
Save and enjoy!
Now one last example for the PLAY STORE
Search for playstore in the app settings list and enter it.
Change DPI to 160
Font Scale to 110
Screen(dp) to 1000*1600 ( ORIENTATION PREFERABLY ALWAYS LANDSCAPE - YOUR CHOICE - WORKS BOTH WAYS )
Additional Settings for each app:
1. U can check fulscreen to disable statusbar in that app
2. Check screen on to change display timeout to never!( it will always stay on in that ap
3. Go to locale settings and select the language u want to display it in!

I am using BOBCAT Rom v12 (NI4) where xposed framework is pre installed. I opened xposed, clicked install/update it showing me the following error
"Copying Xposed-Disabler-Recovery-zip...
Mounting /systen writable...
Backup already exist at /system/bin/app_process...orig
Copying app_process...
cp:write error: No space left on device
Could not copy app_process to /system/bin"
I have tried disabler_xposed.zip via recovery mode but no result.
Changed the installation method of xposed....no success either.
The rom is working fine except modules cant be used.........
Any suggestion...................
Thanks in advance.
Solution of xposed framework installation problem
Solved the problem.......atlast.........
use the kitkat externat sd patch. requires SU permission.
Reboot into recovery.
Install Zip from ExtSd Card
Select Xposed Installer.Zip
Had to flash it twice coz I disabled the xposed to be able to boot.
Thanks Developer for the excellent work.....

Hello! I turn the NFC on all the time (thanks to the SBH-50 headset) so the NFC icon on status bar really bug me out It takes up the space for other notification's icon. So I want to ask is there any mods or anything to disable this on 4.4.4?
You need to root, but 4.4.4 can't be rooted directly so you first have to downgrade to 4.4.2 and start from there. Now that you have root you may modify the system. Some firmwares have the NFC icon enabled and some don't. If you don't like the icon you'll need to modify the build.prop.
Find: ro.nfc.icon.enable=true
true makes the icon visible
false makes it disappear
A Reboot is necessary to make for the changes to take effect.
I'm running stock 4.4.4 and have rooted already, but the ro.nfc.icon.enable is false. I've attached a screenshot. Oh and my build number is 23.0.1.A.0.167 if that helps
I just did it.. works fine..
Used this app to do it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.apps.build.prop.editor
Because once I edited the build.prop in a text editor on the phone and it resulted in bootloop

I do it always with root explorer and with succes always ^^

It doesn't work
In the buildprop editor, I tried set that property to true (since the default is false), reboot, and the icon is still there. Change back to false, the icon is there too
Maybe somehow the unbranded UK firmware doesn't load this property from build.prop
This is a quick guide to enable navigation bar on any android device. So first of all I tell you that you require root access for enabling navigation bar. If u don't know how to do that so, install Kingroot and root your phone with it.
So my guide starts now:
1. Install Root Browser from Google Play Store.
2. Open Root Browser and grant root access.
3. Navigate to /system/build.prop.
4. Open build.prop using Text Editor.
5. In the end, just add this line:
Code:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
That's it! Do a full reboot and enjoy

Yes, I deleted the Line and was fine.
Do you think will work if I install xposed? I mean a module that "force" a navbar.

Nah , I actually tried that . only apps can give us a working nav bar with unsopported systemUI, why don't you try to install a rom, or decompile the systemUI and add nav bar into it
