Hello
Due to SuperSu selling out to a Chinese company. What's a good replacement?
Had a little search for to no avail.
What are people using instead of SuperSu?
Thanks.
I don't understand you

SuperSU is owned by CCMT.
Haven't used it but the only other one i know of still in development is: - phh's SuperUser

Rom Manager is telling me there's a update for my recovery. Just wondering if anyone has updated it and if it's having any issues ? Thanks
No one ?
It's kind of difficult to answer a question when the question lacks pertinent details.

Seems like it would be pretty simple to answer with the info I provided. Open rom manager and if it doesnt say there's a update the your on the latest version and if thats the case how's it working for you ? Thanks for not providing any pertinent info. on the question that was asked.

Not using rom manager although i have pro from my DX days. Nor did I upgrade to the latest version. I havent seen a changelog of whats included in the latest version so I dont know whats new. The prior version works without a hiccup, as all cwm versions have for me. No reason to fix what isnt broken so I havent upgraded. I might download the newest touch version and give it a shot though, if I can find some spare time this evening. If I do ill post up some results and let you know how it goes.

Believe it or not, not everyone uses rom manager or CWM. The pertinent info that you could have provided would have been the version of CEWM that you are currently on and the version that out would have upgraded you to. In this regard, you'd be able to find out of the update were a step forward, a step back, our inconsequential.

You are correct. My apologies to the OP- I replied while dealing with another situation and vented my frustration inappropriately. The hypocrisy of my closing remark was painfully obvious and has now been edited to be constructive.

Hi guys,
I tried the new 1.7 vroot tool to root my g2.
The tools install the drivers for the phone and root it in 5 seconds.

It also modifies your system files and potentially spies on your phone. That's why the developers moved away from shady Chinese programs.

I believe (don't quote me on this and someone else correct me if I'm wrong) that it means the device has been reported as stolen or lost and certain functions may be limited.

Thank you, do you know if it will work using SafeStrap? I had some problems with the display and a no sound on speakers (lots of dead pixels) and amazon allowed me to keep this, but they said she need to deactivate it in order to sync content on the replacement

in that case there's a good chance it won't get updates or connect to the amazon store.
safestrap shouldn't be an issue as its not amazon software.

safestrap will not work with the chinese binary...you have to roll back too earlier software factory reset to get rid of all chinese applications then reroot with supersu to get a fully functioning safestrap. if it is a black listed unit flash thor gapps and dump amazon all together or at least mostly
Hello all, just wanted to inform you that KingRoot works greatly with rooting OC1 Lollipop on our beloved S4.
Just download the app, start it, and give it a try!
Isn't kingroot the Chinese, closed source rooter that XDA generally is wary of? Just askin.

LOL I was about to withdraw my post because I started reading the poor English of the instructions. LOL!
But for the record, it worked! And I was able to replace the Kinguser with SuperSU by following this link.

there's an app on the play store called Super-Sume (yea its called that, i didnt make it lol)
that does the same thing
but it's just
an app rather than having to use terminal emulator and stuff

Ahh, I wish I would have read that closer. But I would have rather known what was being done by using the Terminal. The app on the play store is probably way more noob-friendly.

You're welcome, good English -_-
And is there any good reason to replace kinguser? It kind of looks faster than SuperSU..

Well, you are correct, it is faster. But some apps require SuperSU such as FlashFire. And I was only joking about the english. I just couldn't understand parts of the Website. (which is probably Google Translate's fault)
It does work and there are two methods to swap out King root for supersu throughout these forums.
There are already 5 threads on the S4 forums about rooting OC1....

You got me there as I never really looked into general sections, ROOT topics were always belonging to Development. Sorry, I reported myself.
I did a quick google search and found a Twitter post from these guys saying that the SM-T827V is now rootable with their one click root method. Doors anyone have any experience with http://www.srsroot.com? Just wanted to check before I go trying it to be on the safe side. It looks a bit fishy to me.
