Bluetooth contact sharing on My_Radiosat Renault - CM13 6.0.1 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Bluetooth contact sharing on car radio - CM13 6.0.1
I'm having trouble with my S2 connection with my bluetooth car radio.
Everything is working well, with the exception of "Contact sharing"!
If I have this option enabled on pairing, the S2 disconnects after approximately two minutes, and can not make the turn up again until I turn the car off and on again, and repeat!
If I do not activate the "Contact sharing" on the pairing, then the Bluetooth connection to the radio does not turn off and can receive and make calls by mobile phone, but do not have access to the phone book of the phone in order to call the radio commands!
Has anyone had this problem and know how to solve?
I've narrowed the list of phone numbers for 3 only to be easy and fast to sync, but can not sync!
However, with radio commands, can access the historico of dialed, received and missed!
I think the problem is related to the lack of permissions than those asked!
I have the impression that this feature was already running an earlier CM13 ROM!

[Q] Auto Bluetooth

Can anyone recommend me a FREE app that will automatically enable bluetooth when wifi disconnects and disable it when wifi reconnects.
Both me and my wife have bluetooth enabled phones, mine is a htc desire and hers is an X10 Mini
Our bluetooth kit in the car does not support multipoint so only one phone can connect at a time.
If either of us is by ourselves this is fine but when we are both in the car together its a crap shoot on which phone will connect.
manually checking bluetooth every time we get in the car is a pain in the butt and given the fact that I always drive when we are together I want to install an app to turn on her BT when her WIFI disconnects.
This solves the problem because if we are together my phone has already connected long before her BT ever gets enabled.
Have you tried "Setting Profiles". I can't remember what the free version does but certainly the paid for version (which isn't very much) enables you to do a whole lot of setting rules which would enable you to do exactly what you are wanting.
Give it a try. I've got some complex rules which detect cell locations and then trigger the enabling of WiFi when I get close to home and then when the WiFi is on another rule sets some other bits when I connect to my home WiFi.
Triggers can be, GPS location, Cell location, WiFi networks connected/disconnected, time of day, bluetooth connection etc. Very useful app. Good for power saving as well. (I've got a HTC Desire S but it should work on your phones as well).

[Q] Wifi & Bluetooth - Please HELP!

Hi Everyone,
So I have a rather annoying issue with my new S3. When I use my Bluetooth while in a phone call my wireless connection disconnects. It takes about 30 seconds to 5 minutes for it to happen but none the less it's annoying.
I have tried using different WiFi channels on the 2.4GHZ frequency but my router does not support 5GHZ. I have tried transferring a large file between my Gnote and S3 to rule out my headset and the same thing happened. Now what I am needing from the members of this forum is a simple test. If you guys could please provide some results for me or some advice as I am not sure weather or not to send my phone away for warranty or if it is a fault or not. I have tried this with Wifi power saving on and off.
Steps:
1: Be connected to a 2.4Ghz Wireless router (any channel)
2: Connect a Bluetooth headset or start a file transfer between you and an other device. (the Bluetooth must be active and transferring.)
3: Start a phone call and watch your WiFi icon on your S3 (I call 1510 for Australian Optus Free Call.)
Please post your results.
Come on people I need someone to confirm this for me. I don't want to send my phone off for 2+ weeks if this is happening on other S3s.
Really there is no one in this community that will test to see if there handset does the same... WOW!

[Q] wifi, mobile data, Bluetooth problems

Hi
Last week my phone (rooted Motorola RAZR i running the stock T-Mobile UK rom ) developed these problems:
1. WiFi - within a few hours of no use, WiFi indicator goes from blue to grey; which apparently means "not connected to Google services". This apparently means that gmail syncing, etc doesn't work, but other non-Google internet stuff should be fine... but in my case this was not the case, ie all internet connectivity was down.
2. Mobile data - same issue a WiFi; that is no use, indicator blue to grey, no connectivity.
3. Bluetooth - no audio for calls, but music is fine. When i call someone via Bluetooth headset, i can't hear their phone ringing or their voice once they answer.
So it seems that each radio loses partial functionality. I say partial because WiFi and mobile data both still showed me connected, despite not seeming to function at all. The issues occur separately. Each issue can be fixed by turning the relevant service off and on again. I haven't installed any new apps recently (that i can recall).
I don't expect anyone to diagnose the issue(s) (they seem related), but could i would like some advice regarding how to debug the problems, eg tools, logs, etc that might help me see what's going wrong.
TIA.
Colin

Utterly confused

Got my gear s and my note 4.
Great devices.
So- I have a few questions and can't seem to find answers.
1) when I'm connected via Bluetooth - all my calls from the gear appear to be made via my phone? Correct?
2) If Bluetooth and WiFi is on, and then I turn off Bluetooth on the watch-the two will pair with WiFi and have same situation as #1 above? Which is better? WiFi or Bluetooth if my statement is correct.
3) if I turn off WiFi and Bluetooth.... Can the phone and the watch interact? (via 3g/4g)? Or am I purely on the standalone phone?
4) if I leave the phone home (similar q to #3) I know I can forward my calls so my watch will ring when phone called. Also, the watch will ring when watch called. But- how can I get my text messages from my phone? Is it only possible to get texts sent to watch number?
Thanks in advance!

1) yep
2) yep, or if you wander out of range of bt on phone, but still have wifi connection and phone is still on. BT uses less power, so it's preferred if available.
3) um. yes, basically uses 3G instead of wifi IF phone is still on.
4) as long as phone is on, it's the same as #3 above. If phone is off, then calls (and only calls) get forwarded to watch.
Thanks found my issue. Weak mobile signal at house. Can't connect remotely. Bummer.
if your connected to bt, and mobile network is on (on watch)... Does mobile network burn battery? Does the process use watches 3-/4g?
You can force the watch to dial using the internal sim always (I have done this) the option is under the call settings on the watch menu.
To sync watch and phone when they are separated from WiFi and bluetooth you need to make sure you have enabled the option to sync via your samsung account on the phone in gear manager - not sure if this is ticked by default
Regarding battery usage with mobile on - I have my mobile network switched on constantly (turned off the auto on/off function) and set to connect at 2G speeds only. I easily get 24hrs of use with this. The auto on/off function will enable or disable mobile network when required.
For 90% of the day I am connected using bluetooth. I have mine set to auto call forward when I am out of bluetooth range.

Bluetooth tethering does not work

Hello there, it's been a long time since I've posted on XDA but I require assistance. I purchased an S6 Edge a few months back and everything is working as should apart from bluetooth tethering.
I have tried with my laptop and my nexus 7 which I have installed in my car, both of which worked fine with my previous HTC M8. After setting up tethering on my phone, the other devices connect and the icon appears indicating that tethering is active and an internet connection is available, but I am not able to actually connect to the internet.
My Samsung is not rooted, unfortunately, as I don't want to trip 'knox' for warranty purposes.
Just to clarify that I am doing everything correctly, I select 'mobile hotspot and tethering' from the settings menu of my S6 Edge, then 'Bluetooth tethering'. This turns on Bluetooth and enables tethering. From my paired devices (Laptop and nexus 7) I select 'Use as internet connection'. The devices connect and the tethering icon appears. No internet connection is available.
I imagine this isn't a common issue as after searching I didn't find any threads indicating the same problem.
What would be the best way to troubleshoot this?
EDIT: I would like to add that Bluetooth file sharing works without problems.
EDIT: I would also like to add that my phone is SIM free, and I use the same provider as with my previous HTC M8 that worked fine.
My android version is still 5.1.1 as the update is not available in my area yet.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Rob.
Update: I manually updated my phone to 6.0.1 (without rooting) as I never got the update pushed to my phone. I am still having the same bt tethering issue. My phone says I'm connected and sharing internet with my other device (nexus 7) but that device isn't connected. My s6 is connected fine, it's just not sharing properly.
I get the same results with my laptop.
Can any body suggest any fixes??
EDIT: If my phone is connected to wifi, it will share that connection. If it is connected to 3g/4g it doesn't share the connection even though the phone itself is connected.
Bump.
I suppose nobody is having this problem. Is there any way to debug what is happening?
I am having the same problem. Trying to bluetooth tether my Galaxy s6 edge to Galaxy S2 tab. Both on Android 6.0.1 It appears that the connection is established, but internet does not work on the tablet. Let me know if you had any luck.
