Huge root problem - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi XDA-Developers
I have A problem with root
5 months ago I installed kingroot and I rooted my phone by it
Everything was okay
until I Format My phone a week Ago
and I Didn't find Kinguser
So I Tried to root it again by kingroot , and it doesn't work
So I Tried again with SuperSu.zip
But when I Get to The recovery and choose SuperSu.zip it Says
You cannot perform the OTA update Because Your phone has Been rooted
And The Same results for a ROM and Yesterday I've Download supersu app from google play
and When I Open it , it says Binary su needs to be updated
So I Downloaded the update
And I Go the recovery But The results again ( You cannot perform the OTA update Because Your phone has Been rooted )
Can you please help me ! :good:

[Q] PLEASE HELP!!Su binary not installed and SuperSu cannot install it.

I have Xperia U awhich i had rooted with Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18 withouth unlocking the bootloader.
Recently my phone failed to start at the screen got stucked on the Xperia logo so i had to repair the installation by updating the phone with ICS from update service.
After that my phone seems to be half rooted, it installs the root apps like SuperSu , busybox but it has lost the su binary files.
The SuperSu gives the error 'Su binary not installed and SuperSu cannot install it'. I know this is a common problem i searched a lot on it and the best solution i fiund was to flash the SuperSu zip file from Clockwork Mod recovery.
But i dont have CWM as i didnt unlock my bootloader while rooting and i tried to install it but it didnt get installed as there was no su binary.
I cant un-root my phone i cant re-root it. I have tried everything but nothing works.
Is there no way i can have root access again?

[Q] problem for updating superSU

Supersui can't update my superSU Binar.
I iinstall another version still can't update..
Please help
I had the same problem with 2 Z Ultras. In both cases EasyRootTool didn't finish it's job properly on the first run. The batch file stopped while 'cleaning up...'. On both phones Titanium Backup ran without issues, but several other errors occurred, one being SuperSU not updating. I just used EasyRootTool once respectively three times again, until it finished the job properly.
And don't forget to install Xposed, the best software for rooted phones
Root your device again with towelroot and try re-install supersu from chainfire! and then reboot and after that update the binaries!

Install a Recovery for your ZU and Flash the Super SU ZIP
To install the Recovery you must use in Commando Prompt "Using Towelroot Method"

SuperUser/Rom Issues

First post and not sure where to post it.
I have a Elephone p5000 - came with pre loaded rooted when i received the phone - using android 4.4.2
There was a recent update and it broke the root using SuperUser saying Binary error and to update bla bla
I tried a lot of stuff and never got root to work, it says my phone is rooted but because SuperSU doesn't work root doesn't work. I can't even un root it .. unless factory wipe etc
I've tried to:
Automatic update binary in SuperSu
Attempted to manually update binary
push SuperSU update to the phone
Push a different ROM to the phone and update it but i cant select the zip to update or it aborts the update.
End line I need your help in getting my phone rooted, being detailed as in providing download links and command lines will be useful, I do have ADB and Fastloader installed plus the P5000-CWMRecovery (Which didn't do anything)
P5000 after update root problem
I had a same problem after the update.. I try to reboot and install supersu binary, but it failed.. But somehow my root applications are working after the reboot.. I don't know why..

xt1524 root on new 6.0 update

hi, i recived the 6.0 update OTA today
my phone was on 5.0.2, bootloader unlocked, supersu rooted
using supersu option i removed the root, this to be able to install OTA (leaving supersu result in "update error")
updated to 6.0 succesfully
downloaded lastest stable supersu v2.65
downloaded twrp-surnia-3.0.2-r1
booted twrp without flashing (i don't want to install twrp) do this way in 5.0 and 5.0.2 adn worked
flashed supersu
phone stay at "warning screen"
to restore the phone i downoaded the 6.0 zip and flasched back the "sparsechunk.x" files
how to get the root back again in 6.0??
thanks.
exactly the same here, even with supesu 2.71 beta
You have to install the superSU v2.62-3 (it installs systemless mode) OR in the terminal of the TWRP enter "echo SYSTEMLESS=true>>/data/.supersu" (without the quotes) and then flash the version you want, in order to force the systemless install. I still recommend just use v2.62-3.
Supersu zip v2.62-3 and try: http://download.chainfire.eu/751/Sup...1211162651.zip
thinks @basili
I finally managed
That worked for me too
how
thanks it worked fo rme too
simply install TWRP 3.0.2r1 then supersu.2.62.3
I have a question. I installed the SuperSU 2.62.3 like its recommended in post #3, but Google Play shows that there is an update. Can I update it safely now?
i have my bootloader unlocked and everything ive followed every detail and it said flashed recovery was successful but how do i access twrp im only getting stock recovery plz any advice will be greatly appreciated thx in advance for your help

Lost Root access on Redmi Note 3 after MIUI update - using ZCX TWRP

i had rooted my device and installed ZCX TWRP recovery successfully few months back, i got MIUI OTA update and and flashed the full ROM as you have suggested and after then root access was working fine. But last week i received another MIUI 8.2 OTA update and i updated the OTA via updater app successfully and my root access was working fine, but when i once rebooted the device after the update i lost the root access, when i opened the Supersu app i got the msg "su binary cannot be found and it cannot be installed you have to re-root your device" i again flashed the inbuilt Supersu from ZCX TWRP but didn't get the root access, then I flashed the su binary zip but still didn't get the root access, i flashed latest su 2.79 but still didn't work. But surprisingly my xposed framework is working. But root is not working. Please help me!
