So far i'm sticking to OnePlus X Stock ROM, i'm on OOS 3.1.1 exactly.
I did not have time to root my device so far.
But i really don't have enough memory, so it's urgent to merge the internal memory with my SanDisk Ultra MicroSDXC 64 Go SD card.
Which ROM would the most stable and fully working and enable me to use the SD card merged to the internal memory.
Many thanks to the community!
This worked on 3.1.0 :
1. activate USB Debugging on Developer Options
2. download adb tools here and put it in one folder.
3. plug your phone to pc via USB
4. now open windows explorer and "shift + right click" at adb folder, then sellect "open command window here"
5. type "adb shell sm set-force-adoptable true" (without quote) and then press enter
6. unplug your phone and go to setting>storage&usb>SD Card
7. click 3 dot on top right corner>setting>format as internal

I actually merged internal and SD card, rooted my phone and flashed custom ROM. So far the result is not really good. I guess my SD card is too slow.

Guys recently I started using 32GB card with my Micromax Canvas HD and everything is working only for when I try to connect my mobile to PC for file transfer via usb storage I can see only two drive one of CD drive of mmx and other internal sd drive and I can see one more drive but it is not mounted which is my external sd drive when clicked on it, it asked to enter disk guys plz help.
Solution tried so far by me
1. I have erase external sd card in mobile itself.
2. Reset the entire phone.
3. Uninstalled the mmx driver on my PC and reinstalled it.
Please follow this simple steps on your pc to connect your micromax canvas device successfully
For connecting your external memory...!!!
STEP 1: Copying the ZIP package
1. Copy the ZIP package to the your pc (LINK GIVEN BELOW)
2. Extract the zip package to an easy place to find
location such as the desktop
STEP 2: Verifying the unidentified
Android device
1. Open the Start Menu and click run
2. Type "devmgmt.msc" to open Device
Manager
3. Look for the unidentified Android device
(usually indicated by a yellow exclamation
mark)
STEP 3: Install/Update USB driver
1. Right-click the device and select "Update
Driver..."
2. Select "Browse my computer for driver
software"
3. Select "Let me pick from a list of device
drivers..."
4. Search for "Android Composite ADB
Interface"
5. Click "Have Disk..." and search for the INF
file (android_winusb.inf) located in the
folder you copied earlier
6. Click Next to install the USB driver
That's it!
The phone should now appear in Device Manager
as an Android ADB device.
You should now be able to initiate a remote USB
connection to the device.

can "format as internal storage" be restored to sony's MM?
I know MM has just arrived. but I was hyped for MM because of this feature so you can understand my disappointment. I actually downgraded to LP since they even removed Stamina!
The main problem is that the 16gb internal are not enough. And if you have many photos and videos, the thumbnail data can be large in size, reached 5gb with me! And you can not change its directory. And it regenerates if deleted.
In my former Xperia p, I think I overcame this issue by making the thumbnail data file a dummy one then read-only it (i'm not sure whether I did that on Xperia p or another former phone) . I wasn't able to do this trick in LP
I use z2 d6502 rooted LP now.
My SD card is Kingston 64gb class 10
Well, that's something that disappointed me, too. So I tried it different ways f.e. here, but ended without result.

if you want to get your game obb files from your internal storage to your sd card for example i can reccomand the xposed module "OBB TO SD"
it`s simple to use, just inable it and then you can move your obb files from sdcard0\Android\obb to sdcard1\Android\obb!
if you want a rooted mm with xposed and a working twrp recovery check out this thread: id did it this way

in default , there is no setting to format as internal sdcard.
but you can enable it by usin adb command.
connect the phone to pc with usb debugging on..
open windows command prompt and type "adb shell sm list-disks" (ignore the quotes)
notice the output, it will be something like ---> disk:179,64 (179,64 is ID for sdcard)
now , parting the sd card.
* type .-->> adb shell sm partition disk:179,64 private (if you want to use the whole sdcard as internal storage)
* type --->> adb shell sm partition disk:179,64 mixed 70 (if you just want to use 30% of sdcard as internal storage)
** I found this way when i was googling, this is not a work of mine **
Thank you for your reply. I think I will try that

This works for me. But I have camera issue. Cannot take picture, said "Memory unavailable." Don't know if it associated with adoptable storage. Am I the only one?
I have no problem in saving picture.
Or , just try to set sdcard ss default in camera.
Or , if you install xposed and use xinternal module, just remove it. It'll give so much trouble.

Change folder to where adb.exe is and enter adb.exe instead of adb.
Or, add adb.exe to you path variable (see here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/...u-can-run-it-from-any-command-line-in-windows)
You get that error as adb is not into $PATH so you need to specify it or add it to $PATH.

Please someone help me. I flashed the OOS 3.1.1 community build through twrp. Now I formatted my samsung 32 gb sd card as internal memory in adoptive storage, but when I try to migrate data it says "not enough storage space".

Try moving individual apps
Is this the same ota that oneplus is sending to our devices?
Wait, so you defined the SD card as internal memory, and you're trying to migrate the data from internal to sd?
I have the exact same problem. I installed OxygenOS 3 and have the latest OTA update.
I enabled the adoptable storage (can't post links yet) but I can't see my sd card on my pc, when the phone is connected. It shows up in my phone without any problems.
I tried to reformat my SD into portable storage than into internal again but I always receive the "not enough storage message" whenever I try to migrate data.
Quoting from this thread on the Oneplus Forums: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/use-sd-card-as-internal-storage-cant-also-with-6-0.460967/
this appears to be the answer.

Yeap, those were my exact steps. Actually my SD working is working pretty good in the phone, with all the new apps being correctly installed into it.
Deep down, what is really upsetting me, is that I can't see the SD card on my Windows Explorer when I connect the phone to my PC (and yes, I tried it on different computers as well). I really like to use it as a portable storage device
Before OxygenOS 3 I was using CyanogenMod and this was working as expected.
Do you have a clue what could be going on?
I have an LG Rebel 4 with Android 8.1.0. I took out the microsd card to replace it. The phone does not recognize the new card. I put the old one back in; that was not recognized either. Both cards work on my computer. What could cause this? Thank you.
Probably you've configured the SD-cards in questions to be used by phone as Adoptable Storage ( aka Internal Memory ).
The first card was not, it was external memory. When I put the new card in, there was no message about configuring it or anything. My phone storage still shows 16 gb total. Now, the phone doesn't recognize either card. How can I tell if the sd card is adoptable?
To check whether your phone supports the "Adoptable Memory" feature or not you run
Code:
adb devices
adb shell "sm has-adoptable"
If not 1 gets returned then it's not supported.

Thank you for answering me. I took my phone somewhere. Part of the card slot was bent. It works now.
