Hi,
I have two questions:
1. Why there is problem with goodix FP? I thought we have source code for it: https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource/tree/kenzo-l-oss/drivers/input/misc/goodix
2. Which custom roms work with goodix fp?

1. That source does not work with Android 6.0 + because of driver changes needed to work with the ROM it self (HAL changes/ driver changes)
2. Currently no ROMs work with Goodix FP sensor. The only kernel that works with it is flar2's elementalx miuiLP kernel.
Try using the search bar in different threads next time before asking. Thanks!

As per the title - why do the official CyanogenMod builds *still* not support Goodix FP? Nicknitewolf released a flashable fix for Goodix ages ago, and while it is certainly easy enough to apply it after updating CM, those of us with Goodix FP would really like to just have actual support. I am wondering what the hold up / delay is with this issue. Thanks.
Hi
Please build or port an Aosp rom to our great devices.
If somebody agree with me, please strengthen in it.
Thanks
zsolt
There are people working on CM and AICP ports. You can see here: http://en.miui.com/thread-407842-1-1.html

yes i know, i have seen these posts
thanks
If you already knew then why did you start a new thread?
Why do some people think that asking for a ROM will make it magically happen faster or something?

Do you use AOSP rom if that rom don't have fingerprint function (because RMN4 use FPC1035 with MTK TrustSonic enabled, it's so hard to port it unless Xiaomi release kernel source code) ?
Most people asking for porting rom from other devices but also demand porting rom have full functions working like original rom which impossible to make it happen...

Yep. As I said in the X20 kernel thread, it's only just the beginning because that's only generic X20 kernel source. ODM's *always* add their own hardware that is not covered by the original kernel source.
Typically, Camera and Sensor drivers were the most difficult to port (with blobs and reverse-engineering stock firmware). But TrustSonic sounds like it will be the biggest task.
Its been a while since i last checked out the custom roms for this device. Are there any roms out there for the new sensors or are we still out of luck?
you mean goodix? check radon kernel
hi,
Can someone please explain me Why is it so difficult to get VOLTE working on CM13/CM14.x ROMs?
Right now I have CM13 running on my RN3SD and I have tried instructions from Sudeep's thread to get volte working on CM13. But I could not get volte working on any of the CM14.x ROMs.
Some of the ROMs state that the volte feature will run out of the box (by directly installing the ROM itself). But I did find it running. I have even tried to flash Sudeep's volte patch for N ROMs, but still volte is not wokring!
I have tried the following N roms:
1. LineageOS 14.1 by TheStrix
2. minz1's LineageOS ROM by minz
3. CM14.1 by abhishek987
4. ResurrectionRemix 5.8.0[OFFICIAL][VoLTE] by abhishek987
btw, my ultimate goal is to get VOLTE working on CM13 ROM (Official)
How to get VOLTE working is a different issue (I will figure it out somehow), but my main question is Why is it so difficult to implement so that it works simply by installing any ROM that supports this feature?
m all ears
thanks
Forget all this, the latest upload by thestrix, i.e,
lineageos has the voLTE support u are obsessed with! ? check that out and flash it! Enjoy!

I need a rom with working VOLTE n camera ..
No mess.
Anyways good job developers.
Hi,
Is there a working kernel source that builds and runs fine on nikel ?I know we need correct kernel modules for fingerprint sensor and camera and such but I don't need those features, I only want a kernel source that builds and boot on the device with working screen and touch.
So does anyone have a source ?
Regards
Hi,
To be honest I just need a kernel where I can load my modules, all the precompiled kernels that I found are compiled without CONFIG_MODULES and an embedded device tree.
so if there is a compiled kernel with
CONFIG_MODULES
CONFIG_MODULE_UNLOAD
CONFIG_MODULE_FORCE_LOAD
CONFIG_MODULE_FORCE_UNLOAD
I can live with that.
Any tip is much appreciated.

There are already multiple issues opened on Xiaomi's github account with no response, that's why third party communities like xda-developers exist.
