Anyone intertested in installing whatsapp on your tablet s?
- need root and rooted android phone
I know this method from my asus transformer but it works here also now we have root.
- root your phone
- install whatsapp on your phone
- install TB (titanium back up) on your phone
- with TB make a back up of whatsapp
- open file manager on your phone and look for TB folder
- take the 3 files with the whatsapp name in them and move these to your tablet s
- root your tablet
- install TB on your tablet
- open TB on your tablet
- in file manager go to TB folder
- move the 3 whatsapp files taken from the phone and place them in the TB folder
- open TB and "restore" your whatsapp
You now have whatsapp on your tablet s using the phone number of you mobile phone
Whatsapp wont like it when you have 2 sessions with the same phone number so it is a good idea to do this with another sim card in your phone, this than will be your tablet s phone number.
Just tested it and it works great, you CAN see the names of your contacts to if you enable it in menu :
in whatsapp :
- settings button
- settings
- more
- show all contacts
Easy as that
If there are problems just ask
Ive installed whatsapp on my cheap ass qware pro 3 running ics, This must work on other devices aswell i guess.
1) Go to your contact list on your mobile phone, From the menu "import/export" choosse "export to sd".
2)Copy the exported file to your tablets SD card.
3)Install whatsapp on your tablet from the market or the official wbsite.
4)In whatsapp you fill in an old number of a mobile that still works (whatsapp cant be on 1 phone number on 2 devices), Or like i did fill in your "house phone, land line" number.
5)Whatsapp now wants to verify your number. choosse to recieve the confirmation code by phone call.
6)Enter the code and voila a working whatsapp.
7)Import the contact list file you placed on the SD card and you now have your complete contact list in whatsapp.
Happy texting!

Hi, I have tried this method on my HP TP with CyanogenMOD CM9 Alpha 2 , but when I open the program, and click the I agree button, a message pops up and says Whatsapp curerntly doesn't work on Tablets and didn't even gave me e a chance to enter anything. Anyway to get around that?
Everyone! I managed to make WHATSAPP work on my tablet using the following procedure:
1. Registered my no. with whatsapp on my phone.
2. Used titanium backup to backup the app.
3. Restored the app + data
4. When it starts, it may say that the tablet isn't compatible.
5. Kill the app and restore only the data.
6. Run the app and voila!
If you don't have a smart phone how can i install this app on my tablet.
is there a way like getting data out of a virtual android system on PC?
Im managed to run a virtual android system on PC with a working wathsapp and i can talk to my friends because virtual 3G but i want this on tablet to that use only wifi connection.
Root my tablet is atm not possible because kernel 10. (Sony Tablet S)
Well it doesnt matter, smartphone or virtual. If ur tab isnt rooted, you cant do a thing. Use condi's guide to root it. Either use pre-rooted ics or upgrade to 3.2.1r2 which might change the kernel. Then you can do whatsapp on ur tab.
Im not sure if that would be possible to pre root ect. Android 4.0.3 kernel 2.6.39.4 build 9#1 tab comes from USA.

This is already on ICS - currently there is no root for ICS. Sorry.
OM
I gona check out for it.
Whatsapp from Wildfire S running CM7 to Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (rooted)
What would be a strategy to get the Whatsapp app ported from the CM7-based device to an ICS based one? TB has the app disabled (name has a strike-through effect), and it doesn't install onto tablet.
Ideas?
Can I get the messages on both units (phone and tablet)?

hey hi everyone, I'm gurwinder. i'm frm India. here in India online shopping websites have lured us for buying dell aero at very cheap prices, i think lot of people have bought it online. but now all of them are facing lots of problems due to this phone.
1.first of all this phone has locked access to everything we can download limited apps from Google market...yes android market because its not updated version, have 1.5 cupcake version and it doesn't allow system to be update...there is no option to download update to operating system in mobile. so it doesn't allow any root app like z4root or superoneclick to be downloaded from android market...neither we can download it on desktop and transfer it to phone...it is of no use because it is not allowed to be installed in phone..
2. we seriously want to upgrade the android operating system but cant do it..
3. there is a urgent to need to root this phone because we have very limited access to super rights.... it is like we are provided with a desktop as a guest account...
4.it keep on sending messages to some invisible number "for sure ISD" costing me 5 rupees. i cant stop it form doing it. it has one app named AT&T navigator, for sure this app has something to do with this messages sending. please help to as to how to stop it sending messages by its own
so i thought going online and asking for help form you guys....you guys are expert and i know you will surely help us
thanks...
Dell Aero
Hi Gurwinder,
Not going to the very technical details
1. Dell Aero is a customized feature phone. You need to contact provider to upgrade it.
2.Dont try to root it, it will disable the Android Market.
3.Try Advanced task blocker to block AT&T Navigator everytime you switch ON your phone.
(Having said so, I expect you have tried all other options of deleting ufilled contacts and master resettting.)
Also activate DND in your phone.
I am doubtful that even that would solve the problem.
4.Rooting can only be done by transmission rooting(I hope, am yet to try).
5.Since Dell has exitted from the mobile industry, so no use in breaking head with it, use it with whatever you get from android market.
I am an Android App developer and after breaking my head with it for over a week (I could have earned 10 times its cost), I come to the conclusion
no need to waste time on this crap.
If phone calls are not possible.Take out the Sim and use it as an ebook reader(QucikOffice). As a ebook reader, web browser (with the latest opera mini) and photoshop, still it is a good value for money.Buy a small nokia 808 phone costing Rs 800 (if u dont have any other phone), carry both in ur pocket and enjoy!!
Take out the ' made in china tag', it will appear costlier and robust.
Good apps for it:
1.MixZing music player (playes mpeg also)
2.Opera mini
3.Photoshop
4.Chess game
5Avg antivirus
6.Fx camera
7.chomp sms
8.Network speed
9.Battery
10.Barcode scanner
11.Wordholic reader
12.Advance task killer
Rest all good apps are already present, and andorid market is filled with junks.Still you need any app, then contact me I would rather develp one than searching in that junk store.

Root possible according to chinease, sms problem still persists
thanks Koustuv for this favor....actually after posting my problem everywhere on internet i got no reply and no help whatsoever, glad that at least one person replied and offered me to help...now koustuv let me explain the situation more clearly to you....
1. after buying this silly phone i have searched everywhere on internet so that i can troubleshoot this phone. 1 month continuously searching Chinese sites for help, i came to know that its operating system is "ophone" that is customized android made by some Chinese company and its version is 1.5. this crap phone was the result of collaboration of company named borqs and dell.
2. let me tell about sms problem. this silly phone keeps on sending messages to some international number which charges us 5 rs a message, which is quite annoying... as it eats up all the balance from the account without even telling anything....like as you told me to block some system apps, i have installed startup cleaner pro and blocked two system apps "at&t hot spots and at&t navigator" but it is of no use as sms problem is still pretty working ......this issue is escalated by some newzealender friend on my help question on dell forum too....he too have same issue.....however he made an interesting quote that he researched that this phone was sending message to scam number in bejing....
3. talking about rooting or removing system apps i came to know that after replacing su file it is possible to use root explorer and uninstall all that crap from phone...this information i collected from Chinese forums.check here...
OMS 1.5, the latest version of the Get Root permission
Source: Android Chinese network
New firmware OMS 1.5 1.5 O1 updated again, the original 1.5 firmware upgrade root privileges unavailable now update method still O1 through a PC connection, you can use this method of RootExplorer be achieved by replacing the su file.
The installation process is as follows
1, the install Belcara company produced USBLan driver
2, connected O1 to your computer, select debug mode automatically install the drivers
3, open the network connection, and will see a new local connection, the device named "Belcarra USB LAN LINK", set its IP to 192.168.100.1 subnet mask set to 255.255.255.0 (Description: This connection in every times the phone connected to the computer to select Debug to appear.)
Install OMS 1.5 SDK library, SDK libraries at your own download volume, online, before you install the SDK libraries need to install JAVA. (In fact, should be as long as the ADB relevant documents can be.)
5 su file to put the tools in the SDK package file folder (like me is: "D: \ Program Files \ OPhoneSDK_1.5.beta \ tools")
6, run cmd, enter the tools folder in the SDK package!
Run the following command, the red part:
set adbhost = 192.168.100.2
adb kill-server
adb start-server
adb devices / / if there is no display on the device, please repeat the above steps, equipment display please continue
adb root / / return restarting the adbd as root again perform the above steps
/ / Return the adbd is already running as root, please continue
adb push su / system / xbin
adb shell chmod 6755 / system / xbin / su 7 | / B, H1 \: A "a! L
adb shell sync
adb shell reboot
...see if we both can troubleshoot this phone and help millions like us facing problem due to this silly phone....
Nice exploration
Hi Gurwidner,
Have you tried yourself this rooting technique?
Can you please provide the related links ?
First I am concerned about the SMS bug, as that is the primary requirement to make this crap usable.
Let us see, also if you get any futher update, could you please keep this thread updated?
Thanks and Regards

yeah I'm continuously checking every resource, every information on internet to troubleshoot this phone. My first priority is to remove that sms problem too. i haven't tried this rooting technique. first I'm making sure that i read each and every article about dell aero on internet because I'm more electronics field guy so dont know much about android programming and all...I'm checking all the Chinese pages (which i can search) for references so that i wont do any mistake and make my phone a brick...lol...My troubleshoot process should be fool proof.:fingers-crossed:.of-course I'll keep this thread updated as i can feel the pain which must be felt by hundreds of them who bought this phone....i'm new user so xda doesn't allow me to post links I'll try to send message of those links....work with me to troubleshoot this piece of ****....:highfive:
Really Disappointed
Hi ,
Recently ,I bought this phone and i am also on same boat as you people are discussing in here .Even I Send a Email to dell India regarding the problems and received a Insane message reply from Dell India .
" Dear Customer
This is to inform you that your phone carries AT&T warranty which is out of country phones hence would request you to get in touch with the dealer where you have purchased as we cannot support on this

Now i am really disappointed with this phone and want to get Rid of these problems.
Is it possible to install Android version 2.2 through Flash installation and deleting the previous installation provided by Dell
Take care

Some of the working solutions
Hi
1.First of all note that this Rs 5 deduction problem is not related to AT&T navigator, or any visible application eg gps or even your messaging app.
2.I am looking for a solution but I am unable to fix this as yet.
3.Till then, you can use your phone by
i) keeping balance less than Rs 5
ii) using minutes plan or some voucher to provide you call a min per paise instead of ruppes
iii) u can keep recharge voucher handy (or scratch their code and save somewhere in phone),and when you need to call for more minutes, use them.
iv) you can request your service provider to block your sms to that number or infact block all outgoing sms.
v) you can set your sms service number from some other phone to a very large number which renders it incorrect and block your sms application itself.
But friend none of this is a solution. I am afraid, I wont be able to get this bug corrected without any technical support from the manufacturers.
There are some attempts to root it,flash it, but there has not been achieved any success in this regard. So if you are not a geek dont try all those methods you will lose even whatever functionality you have in you phone.
As of now I can help only this much. But if anybody has any other point or method, then please let me know.
Thanks and regards

HI Nagi,
I can feel your pain as I'm also the proud owner of this phone. there is no point that at&t or dell is going to help us because this phone is bought by these Indian sellers from china at throwaway prices and they sold it to us at huge profit. this phone was discontinued by dell way back 2009 or something but they still had stock of this phone which was unsold so they decided to sell it very cheap....now here gain is for these sellers who sold it to us and now they don't even know how to troubleshoot this phone's problems and we are at losing end, who bought this phone.....now don't worry I'm working on this phone since 1 month to troubleshoot..i think i'm very close..but i still have some software drivers and dell aero ROM 2.2 to be downloaded once i downloaded this stuff i will post the detail procedure to correct this phone....till den take care :good:

Atlast, Find a solution to save 5 Rs
Hi Gurwinder,
I Come up with a Great idea and that's really work to save 5 Rs From [email protected]*k Chinese Mafia ,who had installed a Malware in these creepy Dell Phones .
The Idea that come into my mind was to change the SMS reply center Number ,that each mobile operator install in their sims to send SMS to Central SMS center ,Changing the number through Dell phone was difficult, as these phones ROM are Custom Designed ,So what i did ,i replaced my Vodafone sim into a cheap java handset ,and in that phone went into message setting and replacing SMS center Number +919811009998 to +91981100 .Save the Setting
After that ,I placed the sim Back into dell Aero ,and tried to send the message to any of my contact .SMS Doesn't gone through ,This Idea is really a Manna from heaven for me and also for other Dell aero user facing same problem .
Advantage is that you are able to receive SMS & Disadvantage SMS will not go through your Phone ,But saving 20RS/day on unknown SMS will override the Disadvantage ,
Until then , You people ,Keep on working with software problem and Please come up with a Reasonable solution

yeah sucess is near
hi koustuv,
I'm not going to root this phone now firstly i will try to put original factory ROM on this phone (not AT&T customized one). i have read on various forums that this Factory ROM doesn't have those ****ing AT&T restrictions and that SMS bug, so yeah i have downloaded the FIREBOLT software used to put ROM on this phone. now problem is that i have windows 7 but i need windows xp for my phone to be detected in this software . i have also got the Factory ROM downloaded from internet. earlier i was searching for firebolt windows 7 drivers on borqs website but didn't find there nor it is available on any Chinese or Spanish forums. so finally i have decided to arrange windows xp from somewhere....don't worry this process is error free as lots of Chinese and Spanish guys have tested and tried this process as they have posted detailed procedure on those fourms....:good:
cheers bro.....

Dear Hardeep,
That was nice, to hear from you that you are also free from the prejudice of Dell Mafia Group ,Who had already make a Ample amount of Money by selling the Chinese Phone ,and in contrast earning Money through a Daily SMS reply to some international number ,May be that SMS Number company is paying dell a commission for per SMS Received .
Anyway from now on ,we don't have to worry about SMS Problem..

Dell aero OS upload software
Dell aero uses Firebolt Software made by Borqs to upload operating system image on it or we can say put ROM on it. it is like the same as we install new windows on our pc's. here we use only windows CD to install OS on our computer hardware but in case of dell aero we need to use a software which helps us to put OS on phone hardware. now talking about Firebolt, getting Firebolt was not that easy i had to search whole lot of chinease websites to get it. it took me 15 days to locate a website from where i downloaded it. all of you guys annoyed with this silly phone dont worry there is a ray of hope that atleast we can remove that croupt OS with that international messages sending thing to a new fresh and clean ROM. however i am busy these days so today i will only put the Screenshots of Dell Aero in Flash mode and Firebolt software uploading ROM on Phone.

Hi there,
After screwing up my Samsung S3 and until I can somehow get it fixed, I am seriously considering purchasing a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but really 'only' if I am able to successfully root it and able to run ''Directory-Bind' on it as I do on my S3 now. Could I get a thumbs up here that Directory-Bind is compatible with a Galaxy Note 3 running Android 4.3, or if if it's not compatible, a suitable alternative, as I want to be able to mount an external SD card and run apps/games from that, as I do now with my S3. If Directory-Bind isn't compatible with, can someone please name me a good suitable alternative that is?
As usual, if this question has been answered previously, my apologies.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry, my bad, my post was 'supposed' to be in the Note 3 section, I don't know what happened.
Someone already addressed my S3 problem in another thread( http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...3-question-t2690307/post54013380#post54013380 see below) , but I still haven't been able, due to illness, to fix it.

I'm in the UK and rooted my Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) well over a year ago, using, the CF Root method from these very forums.
All had been working just fine until about a week ago, when I (stupidly) installed an apk that was 'supposed' to add KitKat features to my stock 4.1.2 ROM. It was from this article "http://androidcritics.com/get-android-4-4-kit-kat-android-devices/" that I installed two of the provided apk's, namely 'Google Home' and 'Google Velvet' (an apk that claimed to add 'Google Now' features to my ICS ROM). Now, I so regret taking the risk of installing those two apk's, as now, as soon as my SGS3 has booted up and detected the 64GB SD Card (running with Directory Bind), I get a message that states 'Unfortunately Google Search has stopped'. When I try to open Google Search, it says unable to load data, and trying to run Google Play now always says 'No Connection, retry?' All was fine before I installed those 2 apk's. Even when I try to download something via the Play Store in Firefox on my PC and try to send that to my SGS3, that now fails too. In-game purchases won't connect either (No Connection, again) I'm really confused, because some apps connect to the Internet via WiFi, such as Dolphin Browser,Yahoo Mail and facebook; but, ANYTHING to do with Google, including GMail seems not to or just plain won't connect, although Google maps does connect.
After this problem started, I immediately, using Odin 3 v1.85, successfully flashed my SGS3 with CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar, but that has made absolutely no difference and has fixed nothing. My phone is way past its warranty, so getting it fixed by Samsung is out of the question, and my only (hopeful) solution is to ask you guys for a working fix/solution, please?
I've connected my SGS3 to the latest version of Samsung KIES (via USB) on my PC and KIES states there is a software update for my phone available (it doesn't however mention what the software update is or what for), but it says I may lose data on my phone, and I don't want to lose my data and settings; so, somehow, I'm going to need to make some kind of backup, yes? What would be the best application for backing up my internal SD to my PC, as I unfortunately don't even have space on my PC's HDD to make a backup of that at this time.
My SIII states there are 600 installed applications (of which the vast majority still function just fine, except some that need to connect to the net via WiFi (some will and some now won't)), that I really haven't got the time or energy to reinstall all of them again, so can someone please point me in the direction or post(s), explaining the best way to back up my internal memory and settings (I don't have the HDD space to back up the entire data contents of apps on my external SD card at the moment, so I'm guessing backing up the internal 11GB will save all the relevant data I need). I'm sure backing up like this has been covered in a separate post, so any pointers to those posts would be useful, thanks.
But the most important thing for me at the moment are to get my Google Services and Wi-Fi issues fixed.
One last problem.....When I try to open Applications Manager in Settings, it stays open for about 10 seconds then force-closes. I'm guessing that having the high number of installed apps n games installed is causing this, is it? Because of this, I don't seem to be able to delete the davik cache on things like Google Play, etc.
I've managed to reset (global) App preferences in Applications Manager, but that's as far as I can get in there before it force-closes itself.
I've tried logging on to YouTube, using my regular Google account, but nothing happens.....I don't get it. Would I need to remove my regular Google account from my phone and then fill it in again??
I even reinstalled Google Play (Playstore v4.0.27.apk) and Google Search, but both still don't connect to the Net.
If you have any other questions regarding my problems) or need any more details from me, to help with a solution to these problems, then please go ahead and ask me. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to put is as much detail about my problems as I could.
Many thanks in advance, sincerely, Al."
Briefly, the problem is, I tried installing a couple of APK's on my rooted 4.1.2 Samsung Galaxy S3 that were supposed to install Google Now. They pretty much did that, and it's working, but it has screwed up just about everything else Google-related, including Gmail (just always force-closes), Google Play (won't connect), Now, when I try to log into my Google account on my S3 (with my correct email and password), I always get the message "Couldn't sign in - Can't establish a reliable connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your Android device may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care."
This was never a problem before since I removed my Google account from my S3 and tried to add it again, in order to try to fix the problems with Google Plat and Gmail. Now, Google Plus doesn't work too.
Everything else, all apps n games, including Wi-Fi connection to my router work just fine, except connection to the Play store and trying to update or add apps to my S3 via my PC.
I've been told to download an original stock 4.1.2 ROM in zip format and stick it on my external SD card, but I have yet to find exactly where to find a stock 4.1.2 ROM in zip format in order to put it on my external SD card - any pointers would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I hope this covers everything for a minute.
Cheers, Al
i have whatsapp activated in an Android phone and I want to move it to another without confirmation code cause my sim is deactivated permanently . any idea please ?
Old phone is sony z2
New phone is samsung j5 prime
Thanks
I found this handy help page on WhatsApp's official site with a quick Google search:
http://www.techbout.com/whatsapp-without-phone-number-sim-5365/
Hope it helps!
Thanx but that is not what i need, i want to move the WhatsApp ( which is already activated long time ago )with all its chat to another phone without verifying code because the sim card is permanently disabled and i want to activate the WhatsApp with that lost sim card number. Am i clear now?
Doesn't WhatsApp have like a cloud backup thing? That is what I use when I flash new roms. Anyway, my second suggestion would probably be to titanium backup it using guess what, titanium backup (though that would require you to have root access).

I don't think you can, unless you email WhatsApp support and ask them for a way to do it.
I'd have to agree with @RAZERZDAHACKER that the easiest method to switch the app between phones is with Titanium Backup.
Here are the steps you'll need:
How to root Sony Z2
How to root Samsung J5 Prime
How to install and use Titanium Backup
Transferring Titanium Backups to SD card
Enjoy!
