Now i am doing 5.1.1 with flashtools to see the result maybe there is still hope ....i see that this is the Z5C E5832 Rev 1.0 so it should have the fingerprint right ? :S or at least if it's not working show it in settings .

hey there.. i`m from romania too.. take a look over here http://www.androidauthority.com/no-fingerprint-sensor-for-us-xperia-z5-z5-compact-667816/ , on short .. if you have an US model you don`t have a fingerprint sensor.. where did you buy it from? your z5c ?

P.S. Tryed 2 versions of android 5.1.1 oficial but none have worked. I see the fingerprint setting now in the security part but after i imput a pin it's going back to security menu like this feature should not be in this phone .... if i test it with *#*#737...... o fingerprint sensor it will exit the test right away .

Anybody fixed this problem or should i call warranty ?

Can't you flash firmware from different region via Flash tool?

@bushako - i think i allready did reinstalled a 5.1.1 for central Europe but please leave me a link for a country like Romania if you can so that i can try again . Cheers !

Google Xperifirm and download the ROM for other regions.

Hi
My fingerprint sensor is working pretty charm and my customization version is 1298-7260_R6C.
I flashed Autralian Customized Firmware ( 6.0.1 ) and the phone started working pretty decently.
If you want the same firmware and want to know the steps for flashing it feel free to contact me
My email : [email protected]
Thank You !
Thank you. I know how to flash, that's what I'm doing right now. I'm trying to sell the phone and buy an international version so I wanted to know the stock firmware on an untouched E5803. Do you happen to know what it was?
Was your fingerprint sensor working before you flashed to the Australian software?

No, My fingerprint scanner hasn't worked before. This is a common problem for US phones. By default the fingerprint scanner is disabled but if we flash a international firmware or any other it starts to work. You can flash Australian firmware to make it work. As it is a official firmware you don't need to unlock bootloader.
If you want to flash Australian CU then you will get it from XperiaFirm from Flashtool.
If you have not upgraded your Lollipop then download Lollipop customized firmware from XperiaFirm and flash it to experience stock firmware on untouched E5803
Thank You !
Flashed E5803_Customized GEL_1299-2789_32.2.A.0.224_R7C and everything seems to work fine. Unlocked, rooted, and emulated my original TA partition and everything seems perfect.

If I purchase tbe US model Xperia X can I enable the fingerprint sensor?

So I'm about to purchase the Xperia X and I live in the US. Is it better for me to buy the US version with a warranty and flash the firmware to enable the fingerprint sensor to work or should I buy the international version and if I did will it work okay in the US? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
if you bought US version. Just flash stock rom of other region. UK/europe/ MENA etc, and finger sensor will work. its more of software thing then hardware.
you can download other ftf (stockroms) using xperifirm under FLASHTOOL (www.flashtool.net)
Just flash european version of a firmware and you are good to go. I don't understand Sony's decision on this subject. Everyone has it available, but not USA.
You can flash the other regions firmware and BOOM! you have your fingerprint sensor activated.
The better thing you might not know is your device is still available for the official OTA, of that region. Just make sure you don't flash the 1 sim firmware for the 2 sims and vice versa..

I'm in the US and bought an imported ZX1 Compact with the fingerprint sensor enabled off of eBay, running Android 8.0.0. I'm getting notifications about an OTA system update from Sony; if I allow it will it disable the fingerprint sensor, or is that at a lower level than the OS?

If you've already flashed another firmware region that had the finger-print enabled, everything OTA update you're going to receive will be specified for that region devices and you will not lose finger-print function. Don't worry.
In a nutshell, just think that after flashing EU firmware (for example), you're owning the EU Xperia device, not US anymore!

i never tested that because USA firmware are for F5121 only and i have F5122,
but what you are saying make sense. if software updated only looks for the current version/build/region running on device irrespective of #imei & serial etc before pushing UPDATE then YES device once had USA firmware when left Sony Factory and Flashed EU firmware should get EU based OTA only ....
Please do let us know what happens
My question was about an imported G8441 that already had the fingerprint activated, I was worried that doing an OTA update in the US might overwrite it. However, based on robocopvn's comments above I went ahead and allowed the update (and one that came immediately after it) and everything is all good.

I actually clearly answer your question.
it's about the firmware you're running on your Xperia, not about the actually location you stay on earth when you hit the update button, thank you!

Samsung S7 Edge (SM-G935F) Bootloop issue after Nougat Update

Hi Team,
I purchased Samsung S7-Edge (unlocked) in USA and started using in India. I received Nougat update when i started using in India. It was running on Nougat until recently mobile started restarting continuously. So, i downloaded Firmware (Android 6.0 ) of UK region and tried to flash it using Odin. Mobile started working properly. Later upon connecting to Wi-Fi (connected in India), i received a message to update to Android 7.0. After the update mobile started restarting displaying Samsung Logo. So, i tried cleared the Cache; then it shows updating apps (7 out of 23) and keeps on restarting again.
Can anyone please help me to resolve this issue ?
I am not sure if i have picked right Firmware version as i purchased it in USA and using it in India. I have Serial Number & IMEI number with me. I remember the Firmware version at the time of Purchase was UAE, but not sure if it is from LYS OR XSG.

Thank you so much Teddy. I flashed with DBT version and it worked !!!!. Initial startup took too much time. So, i thought it didn't work. So, i have flashed with other countries firmware as well. But, in the end before giving up i again installed DBT and left the mobile untouched for entire night. Thank God!, it started working..
Thanks a Ton!!!!

Hi All,
As Teddy suggested i have downloaded DBT firmware for my SM-G935F and flashed it. It started working fine. But, after oreo update, it again goes into Bootloop. I will remind that the mobile is purchased in USA but im not aware of the Firmware's location. Please help me in understanding if i connect to Wi-Fi, updates are downloaded which are release for Firmware's Country ??
I observed a strange behaviour. When i have updated Google app by opening Play store, mobile suddenly switched Off and went into Boot Loop.
Please help me with the Firmware Selection and if there are any best and permanent solution for this problem.
Thanks,
Sri

Galaxy s21 not receiving updates

I have a Galaxy s21 olympic edition with number SM-G991Q and i am not receiving montly updates. The last update was the August 2021 patch and was installed on August 30th.
Also smart switch on Windows is not detecting Any new updates.
I tried to reset the device without luck getting new updates.
Does anybody has the same problems with the Galaxy s21 SM-G991Q not receiving updates?
I have this phone too, I also only got the August security update.
Don't worry, they probably lost their update schedule before switching to Android 12. I got updates yesterday for SM-G9910.
I have the same phone and find it odd that it doesn't show up on sammobile or anywhere else.
Does anyone know where to find original firmwares for it?
I have too G991Q and I need flash to XAA because I need BAND 20 LTE my country help me pls or altwrnative stock ROM?

Well on november 8th i finally got the october 2021 update. Hopefully the android 12 update will follow zoon
I have a question about the G991Q, did any of you get the ESIM to work yet? It is currently software locked - in theory it should have it because it is a Snapdragon chip
Do you have Android 12 on G991Q already? Im checking every day but still no luck Should I install non olympic rom? Will that work? Thanks
@Corbik
This particular variant has yet to receive the stable One UI 4/Android 12 update.
@jussy
See here; the model number of this variant is SM-G991Q and the CSC is SJP. At the time of posting this, the latest available firmware version is G991QOPU1AUJ2.
my version is g9910 and still no update to android 12.
last version a11 octuber security update....
whats happend....
What standard version would be closest to G991Q? I tried to flash U1 ROM but no luck
Friends i'm also with the SM-G991Q olympic version.. I really need to switch to CSC from ZTO, to try to use VOLTE and WIFI CALLING from my operator in my country, Brazil!
Can someone please help me change CSC to ZTO ? I tried the tutorial above, but it doesn't open anything when typing the codes, were you able to change? I saw that it only works on android 10. but we are on android 11.
I saw that you have the option to change CSC ANDROID 11 via Samkey, but I believe it still doesn't have support for our SM-G991Q device.

Have you tried switching to another S21 variant's ROM with Snapdragon 888? it worked out ?
If it doesn't work, I think I found our ROM to perform restoration via ODIN, in brink event:

Yes I tried the U1 version since it should be US version with Snapdragon888.
That ROM you found, based on the numbers is exactly what is in my phone now.
I think I will just wait some more time to get official Android 12 update, hopefully our special version wont be forgotten
But If somebody know which ROM would also work for SM-G991Q and ideally would also support all languages and features (esim for example) please share
