Looking for App for Better Mobile Operator Control - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm searching for app to simplify changing from home carrier to local roaming. Basically it can be shortcut or some app to bypass searching for networks everytime I want to change. Something like this: when I'm in place where Virgin Mobile has best coverage I'm using Virgin but when it's T-Mobile I'm changing to T-Mobile. I know it should be done automatically but it's not and when I'm in my workplace I have max 3 bars 2G signal in my home carrier and when I change to T-Mobile local roaming I also have 2-3 bars but 3G.

Question about *#301279#

Guys, I am trying to understand how to change my mobile network access on the phone.
I am on the ATT version of the SGS2 and have repeatedly used
*#301279# -->Change HSPA Revision--->R99-HSPA off, but I continue to display the H+ in the status bar. My speed tests don't change at all with regard to the selection I make (1,2,3). Am I doing something wrong? Am I supposed to "save" the settings after I make the selection?
I live in South Florida and we have H+ here, so I am really not sure what is going on. The phone also displays my network as UTMS and I have NEVER seen 3G in the status bar. I am using my old sim from my Iphone 3gs with data unlimited plan with the correct (4g) APNs.
Any ideas guys?

I`a m not on the AT&T network so i can`t advice you myself but i would look on the thread of Designgears on xda as he`s on your network to. If you don`t see anything about apn-settings post a question on XDA and you`ll get answers. Or google around for your settings and look on the AT&T website.
Hope you find your answers
Also just to clarify, I'm trying to get the phone in 3g only mode.

Stay on 4G

Im in a good 4g area and it randomly switches to 3G. Is there a way to make it stay?
You may not be in as good an area as you think. The signal strength meter is actually for 3g, even when using 4g.
Open the dialed and use *#*#4636#*#* and you can set to LTE only instead of LTE+CDMA auto + EvDo (can't remember exactly how it's worded.
You want to use the dropdown preferred network setting. Remember after switching, give it about 30 seconds to make the swap between changes.
That's a very handy dialer string everyone should know from memory.
If you want to disable the 4G radio so it's not searching for a signal if it doesn't exist in your area, go down to the preferred network and choose cdma auto prl.

There is a program in that market that will take you to the same place as that dialer string.
LTE ONOFF
I could never remember the string, and since I was going to need to switch to GSM networks in Europe I just used this. It works well. And the LTE only option is labeled is just LTE Only

Home GSM/3G Network.

O.K. - so I live in a place which picks up 3 countries mobile signals. One is my "Home" country.
Whilst wandering round, my phone, if set to Auto, will frequently pick up the other countries network.
Not a problem.
However it very rarely returns to the "Home" network by itself.
In older phones there was a way of setting a preferred network list etc.
Is there any way to do this on the S2?
I do not want to disable roaming, I want the S2 to go "Ah, home network in range, I'm changing over to it, even though I still have a good signal on the foreign network."
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks!
Adrian.

[Q] prefered network? hidden menu

Was just curious about network settings. Under the hidden menu my prefered network is set to wcdma prefered. Is this the best setting to use? This will still allow lte network correct? Thats what mine is set to default and if I try to change it it goes back to wcdma automatically. If im thinking correctly wont this automatically pick the fastest network available to me? Including lte? I camebto this conclusion because I do get the 4g symbol when Im in the signal area for lte. Also what kind of speeds is everyone getting with LTE? THANKS for the help! Just want to check and make sure this setting isn't preventing me from getting lte speeds.
The menu setting that you see is to only use one of the the technology's and the bands those the technology's uses to connect to the network (e.g. gsm, wcdma)
BTW. None of the l9s have LTE the l9 2 might

Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G925F on T-Mobile USA and LTE/Data problems

Hello. I have an SM-G925F which I bought from Telekom Macedonia and I am still using my number from there also but I am currently in the US and would like to use it on T-Mobile USA.
I know that the device supports all the same bands as the SM-G925T model.
The problem I am having is that when my phone is set to LTE/WCDMA/GSM in the Network Mode settings, I do not have any data connection at all, only when I make a call, I start to get a data connection but only 3G/H+. If I switch my setting to WCDMA/GSM, then I get a data connection at all times like normal but it still is only 3G/H+. I have tried two different APNs and different settings in the APN but I still cannot get a data connection at all times on the LTE/WCDMA/GSM setting and I cannot get LTE/4G at all.
After contacting T-Mobile, all they came up with is to try to have the same software reinstalled on my phone. Does anyone have any experience with this and can anyone help me?
Anyone?
Call Tmobile and have them input your phone's IMEI in their system. Ask for the APN settings as well. I am on the same boat and one call to ATT got me from H to 4G. Your phone will just show 4G, not LTE but you will get LTE speeds regardless.
I tried doing that too. I called T-Mobile a few times and they confirmed my IMEI number being on the account but still no luck. It's really weird..sometimes I get 3G/H+ on the "LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)" network mode setting on the phone but most of the time, I get NO DATA connection at all..only the signal bars.
Any Update
Did you finally figure it out? Is LTE working now?
