Is it possible to have a dual boot access so I can boot from either my internal memory or my 128g SD card with something like the cyanide mod or similar.
Thank-you for any help or info anyone has.?
No, You can't until kernel support this.
Try port MultiROM TWRP

hi guys, basically i flashed cwm through fasttool on my xperia s but totally forgot to store a custom rom on the internal storage. So now the phone keeps booting into recovery. now i know i can put a custom rom on a sd card but xperia s dnt accept sd cards
anyway i can get out recovery? let me know thanks
Hello everyone
I recently flashed my sgs 3 to have dual boot, using devil recovery and Googy kernel v2.3.2
First ROM is cm-11-20140815-NIGHTLY, second is Archdroid 1.7.18
While first ROM just runs fine, the second ROM worked also but with a strange issue: It is showing root and external sd card but no internal sd (while using file explorers), seems like it is not mounted or something like that, even xposed installer and other programs that require inernal sd card are not working properly.
Is there anything I can do or this is definetly an incompatibility between ROM and Dual boot ?

twrp not finding external sd card ??
why am I having so much trouble with TWRP (all versions) finding the external sd card on the acclaim bntv250a ? Occasionally it will work !?!??! Yet the very same sd card works flawlessly on CWM !?!??!?!?!!? and still works flawlessly on CWM !?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!
I think the trouble I'm having with TWRP is that the sd card that has my files on it has to be installed when TWRP starts. Kind of a chicken egg thing.
Possibly there is some sort of reset in TWRP that will make it recheck the card for files. I'm going to look for that.
Meanwhile it sure would help to get input from some other folks.
thanks
Does the card have the right format? For the stock nook to read it, it has to be Fat32. Not all sdcards come formatted as fat32. So it might be a possibility that the card with TWRP on it does not have the right formatting.
Some other things that might be overlooked, TWRP needs root access to work. So the tablet needs rooting before you can use TWRP. I was reading over the howto and they say to use the gaps to download TWRP, so maybe it is not meant to work off a card, but rather the tablet's memory.
I was wondering myself if gaps could be sideloaded and then download TWRP to the tablet.
Edit: this comes from TWRP Faq at the google play store;

The forums can be a lonely place!
All the cards I'm using are fat32. SanDisk 8gb class 4. If I run twrp from internal recovery and my card with roms on it is already in the slot every thing works fine. If I insert my sd card after twrp has already started it never sees it. CWM does not have this problem finds all files no matter when I insert a new card.
Is there some kind of refresh in twrp that will make it look for newly inserted cards ???

I am actually not too surprised by this behavior. Most operating systems require a "mount" procedure to initialize volumes of storage. The two programs might be handling it different. Twrp could just look to the operating system to do the mount i.e. it knows what the OS knows at startup. CWM on the other hand could be assuming nothing and try to mount whatever is in the card slot when it is needed.
This is just a wild guess from my experience with Linux. I could not say for sure without looking at the source code for both programs, but I do not think that I am too far off. I welcome others to chime in.
Thanks nodekeeper for the reply.
I am finding that when using TWRP your sd card better be in there when TWRP starts or it will never find it or mount it.
CWM isn't like that you can swap your sd cards around while it's running no problem.
So if I start TWRP as a internal recovery and have my sd card with the files I need already inserted it works fine.
I guess there is usually always a work around.
Except I haven't found one for lolli pop on acclaim yet !
I'm facing problem with flashing CyanogenMod 13 builds through TWRP 2.8 recovery when SD card is being used as internal storage, TWRP recovery is not able to locate SD card storage when SD card is being used as internal storage in CM 13, but I did change some settings I can't remember and fortunately TWRP started showing SD card storage but I am not able to flash anything. However, I recently updated my TWRP recovery and installed version 3.0.1. I want to ask, can I now flash CyanogenMod 13 build through new version of TWRP recovery even when my SD card is being used as internal storage? If anyone did this please let me know.
Thanks in advance

Device model is Motorola Moto E (condor).
Update to the latest twrp .. it supports adopted storage.
My Redmi Note 4x have a question with a continuously endless reboot loop after I add an external SD card (Sandisk Extreme Pro/ 32G) into SIM card holder that it be set as internal storage. However, the OS work normally after external SD card is unmounted.
Is there any way to set an external SD card as internal storage?
32G internal storage is not enough for me~~~
Thanks for anyone helping.

Are you on miui? Or on a custom rom? I don't really know if miui has an option to set sd card as internal storage, but i know custom roms have them. Regarding the bootloop, disable the feature from settings so you can end the bootloop

My suggestion is to upgrade to aosp extended v5.1 since v5.0 isnt going to be much updated plus it has bugs. Maybe that's am issue to the rom. Just boot in the phone without the sd card, then when the phone is on insert the sd card and format it normally. Then u can just copy the zips and flash them.

You can use titanium backup, but unfortunately that's the only thing :highfive:
More a question,if I only back up all the data, cache etc which are existing in AOSP ROM 5.0 except for system, can all things which are described above restore to AOSP ROM 5.1 after ROM 5.0 be upgraded and backup file be flashed via TWRP ?
In a nutshell, I don't want to lost things which were installed in AOSP ROM 5.0~~

As the above friend said, you can use titanium backup to backup all your apps that you have installed and then restore them after upgrading rom. It's pretty easy and from my experience you might have to configure some apps again, but all will be restored.
