To find the device ID you can enter *#*#8255#*#* in your phone dialer or go to Menu >Settings > About Phone > Status - The serial number (Device ID) should be there. Or you can just download an app called "Device ID" that automatically retrieves your device ID.

I can't see my serial number in this menu, this is the data that it shows:
Battery Status
Battery Level
My Phone Number
Network
Signal Strength
Mobile Network Type
Service State
Roaming
Mobile Network State
IMEI
IMEI SV
WIFI Mac Address
Bluetooth address
Up Time
I dont think you have a serial number. Its just an IMEI number on phones that identifys it

There is a serial number under the battery as well as the phone IMEI.
Look under the battery and look on the box. The barcode under the IMEI number has some numbers under it, that is your device serial number.
Thanks, under the battery there it says S/N and then there is a number.. is it safe to assume that this is the serial number?
Note that this is different to the number on the barcode on the box
Yes, S/N stands for serial number

Could I just ask how many digits (decimal or hexadecimal) the serial number is...?
(I won't bother trying to explain why I'm wondering)
Isn't the IMEI-no. the serial number?

thnx brother
Serial number not vaild...?
I'm trying to do this in Kies and am having no luck. I've tried the following:
IMEI + Model Name
S/N + Model Name
IMEI + 2 digit IMMEISV + Model Name
I've entered pretty much every number I can find on the box. When I enter the S/N and Model Name (SGH-i777) I get a weird character message
What am I missing here?

"wierd" as 00195ef068dfae -this is what my phone shows for S/N under Settings/About. But this is another baseband/imei stuff problem.
And the actuall SN (under the battery) is ofc not showing! And the box only shows IMEI + Barcode + color
I don't know if this is right, true or works, but from a IMEI blacklist checking site i discovered that the the imei contains the following :
TAC: XXXXXX FAC: XX SNR: 580206 CD: 3, so if someone can confirm that these SNR: digits are actually the SN of phone than you solve it. Cheers mate.
Same as me..not same as in the back of the phone afer flash stock firm from sammy

[Q] Sim card Network Problem

Hi,
Suddenly my Canvas HD is not recognizing any simcard from today. Tried many different sim cards that are working on other phones but not working on any of the sim card slots on my Canvas HD.
What can I possibly do to resolve this? Any help will be appreciated as I am too scared.
P.S - My Canvas HD is rooted and I am on Android 4.2 ROM.
Update : I tried flashing .20 Stock ROM via SP tools also, but no luck.

did ur phone restored, from Forum or by MMX Customer Support,
I took it to service center. Both the simcard slots were broken and I had to pay hefty for it. It's working fine now but the slots are too sensitive as I saw a lot of people with similar problem.
isnt it covered in warrenty?

See, mostly this is a feature phone, so some regions especially in China, in their sims which supports VOlte. And in india for this phone should support band 22 and 31 but by default the OEM has locked those bands in the phone itself.
Just check the bootloader is unlocked, go to Build number in settings - about Phone - Build number, click seven times to it and check Developer options in settings and just check there is tick on OEM unlock option. If it's ticked then the bootloader is unlocked. (Just reply me about this first....)
If your phone is warranty then don't try to Root your phone, if rooted then it can void your warranty.
