Google Duo mic problem since OOS 3.1.x - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey folks,
since I upgraded from OOS 2.2.x and a custom ROM to OOS 3.1.x, suddenly Google Duo refused to send any sound to my conversation partner.
Getting very close to the mic and speaking into it very loud makes it partially possible to send some audio during a call.
Is there any fix for it? I've read about this issue in the 3.1.0 community build thread and it obviously has not been fixed nor did I see anything about it again.
Any help is appreciated.
Best wishes.

Same issue here
I've got the same issue on my side with oneplus X Oxygen OS 3.1.3, receiving party doesn't received my audio.

same issue, 3.1.3

It's a known bug. Hopefully they fix next update. For now if you use Facebook messenger has video chat.

Hi guys, I know this is an old post, but did you find any solution? My mum just got a second hand Oneplus X and we can't use Duo, I can't hear a word she says. We're using Skype, which works fine but it drains my Nexus 6P's battery like crazy...

Poco f1 on call speaker issue

Hello All,
I have recently purchased my device from Flipkart.
I had not noticed this problem when it was on Oreo as it was recently bought and I updated but after the update to Pie when I am on voice call and go on speaker I face crazy distortion and echoing.
This does not happen on Video Calls on speakers but only on voice calls on speakers.
I am currently on PEJMIXM build. Has anyone faced this problem?
I have checked many forums but not much assistance from it.
Hard reset has been done but with no change.
Please advice what can be done. I have contacted Mi care but that was not helpful either.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
I havebthe same problem. I have distortion while in call on any rom. About echo i have no problem with latest stable build.

What are you doing about it? It seems to me that it is a software problem. Because if it would have been a hardware problem it would have done the same with video calls on speaker.
After this 10.3.5 update i too have the same problem. The call automatically goes to speaker whether its an incoming or an outgoing

[FIXED] Android 10 microphone problems

Hi everyone, I succesfully upgraded to Android 10 yesterday, and I do love this update, but now today, since wanting to use Discord, because I play videogames with friends, the app won't recognize my microphone (it worked normally with Android 9 a day before), when a friend called me he couldn't hear me and I couldn't hear him, they can't hear my voice in Messenger calls and I can hear them, but Whatsapp videocalls work without a problem, and voice messages too, Whatsapp normal calls also don't work. I have a P30 Play, I bought this from China but it hasn't given me a problem since then, only incompatibility with a pair of Sony Headphones. It had the Nov 2018 update and didn't receive any updates until I updated it. I followed this guide here to do it, as I said it worked without a problem: androidinfotechdotcom/motorola-one-p30-play-regular-android-10-stock
I don't know what else to do, if I have to downgrade can anyone give me a link for Android 9 please? Tho I really hope it doesn't come to that, since Android 10 is great for me
Edit: I fixed it! Yay! I reinstalled Android 10 with a newer update from this forum, the mic works correctly and as intended to, my friend told me, my voice sounds even clearer in this update.

Volume drop in YouTube

Hello everyone,
I noticed this one since I installed YouTube Vanced and I thought maybe that was the problem but no, after playing some longer video the volume suddenly drops. I read on reddit others experience this problem so I was hoping maybe here we can find a solution? I searched the xda threads but didn't found anything.
Kinda off to a bad start for troubleshooting though.
Can you give more information?
Are you using stock ROM? If so what version and variant? Are you on global, EU or Indian variant? Android 9 or android 10? What security patch?
Any mods installed? Particularly sound mods?
Any magisk modules?
Have you tried taking a log of the issue and see what happens?
Is this through the phone speaker or wired headset or Bluetooth.
I am not able to replicate on my setup.

Thank you for the fast reply: I'm on stock Android 10 Global version. Latest August security patch. I am not using any apps for sound and no headsets or earmuffs. No magisk module and no root.
If I just leave YouTube with a longer video, at one point the sound almost mutes. I even uninstalled YouTube Vanced.

Today it happened again and in another app that was doing live tv streaming. I had not encountered anything like this in another phone. I'm sure that's a but but what can cause this? All my notifications are muted.

Wow that is honestly bizarre, haven't had this problem thankfully, are u still having this issue even with the new update?

Google Duo on Lineage OS 16

Hi
I am running Lineage OS 16 on my Honor 5X and recently noticed strange behavior when using the Google Duo app.
When on a Google Duo voice call (not video call) there is no sound coming from the earpiece speaker when the person I called speaks. In other words I can't hear the person I called.
Also, the person I called cannot hear me when I speak.
If I switch to bottom firing loud speaker on my Honor 5X during a Google Duo voice call, I can then hear the person I called when he/she speaks, and he/she can also hear me when I speak.
My gut feeling is that there is a bug on Lineage OS 16 for the Honor 5X that is the cause of this odd behaviour.
Have any of you guys experienced a similar bug when using Google Duo on the Honor 5X ?
Thank you

I will really appreciate it if you could let me know after checking again if you experience any sound/volume related issues or not when using VOICE CALLS (i.e. not video calls) on Google Duo

Question Can't use mic on loud since 13 stable update, anyone have the same issue?

Hello.
Happy with my p6 with beta a13 no issue at all.
Update to a13 stable and then microphone not working on call when on loud, phone call or duo/meet call.
Tested microphone with camera and recorder to test both microphone and they work well.
Received another update yesterday but still the issue.
Does anyone else having this issue and do you resolved it by any way ?
I will reset factory if no one have answer but I'd like to understand what is happening before that.
Thanks
Any luck with this issue? My microphone cuts in and out on calls since OTA update to Android 13. I thought it was hardware, but lots of reports of mic issues with this update. Haven't found anyone who has got it fixed yet.
