Hi,
I'm looking for Kenzo ROMs based on AOSP (not MIUI) that don't have root. I'd like to play Pokemon Go, but don't want to muck around with Magisk, nor do I want to unroot CM.
Currently running SlimRom for Kenzo, but am running into an "unable to authenticate" error.
Is there a clean, unrooted Marshmallow ROM that I can use as a daily driver?
Cheers
Are you trying a RootCloak from Xposed?

No, I don't have Xposed installed. Just want to look for a ROM that hasn't been rooted, even though in ROMs like SlimROM the root isn't enabled yet.
I unrooted using SuperSU, and no longer receive the "Unable to Authnticate" error in Pokemon GO, which is strange because that's not even the error message you receive when you've got an unsupported OS, device, or you're rooted.
I guess next time I update i'll need to do it again.

Hello! I saw this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hdx/help/how-to-install-cm-12-1-fire-hdx-7-t3205865 and I decided to go through with it. Anyway, I downloaded Fire OS 3.2.8 from the google drive link, put it in my internal storage folder and tried to update. I pressed the update button on my kindle, but I get an error that says:
Update Not Completed
Unable to complete update because the update file is not valid.
Please try downloading the file again.
this comes up after saying "Validating update file" for about a minute.. I did try downloading the file again, and it still didn't work. I'm trying to download from yandisk instead of google this time, maybe it will work that way. Do any of you guys know why this wont work?
For clarification, I have:
Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 3rd Generation 7" KFTHWI
EDIT:
Downloaded from Yandisk, still didn't work.
Its for 4.5.5 and not 4.5.5.2.
Root
hey, if you trying to root and unlock the bootloader, you can root 4.5.5.2 without rolling back as i did just today by using kingroot latest apk. It took around 6 to 8 tries but it did it. No need to roll back.

I also successfully did the same with 1 try.
Then I tried to install Xposed framework. But the Install button is greyed out. What should I do?

Lucky you, done with 1 try! Which android version you are using? As Xposed is not yet available for android 7.

Android KitKat fire os 4.5.5.2.
But I already unlock bootloader and flash Nexus KitKat ROM, so I think no need to install xposed framework unless I want to tweak more in the future!

Strange things happen.
Yesterday i flashed the Concept Rom (7.1.2) over the Posion Rom, and flashed Magisk in TWRP, everything fine.
Yesterday evening, i ****ed up my system somehow, and i did a clean flash with the Concept Rom.
I realized that the Rom isnt rooted, flashed Poison, did a factory reset (to hopefully geht the su binary), flashed the Concept Rom, and then Magisk.
And now Magisk tells me, that 'my' root isnt fully compatible with Magisk (and Magiskhide), and im not using MagiskSU.
I think i did it the wrong way, flashing Magisk only with Concept Rom doesnt work (cant remember the error), so whats the right way to use Magisk on my X?
the concept rom is rooted. I tested it yesterday. if you want to use magisk please unroot by unroot function in supersu
Did you cleanup supersu before flashing magisk?

the only problem I had is "CTS profile mismatch"
I can magiskhide everything, root is OK, but... fail safetynet check
tried almost all custom rom here in xda, even I try magisk v12 patched for sony device. but failed
if you can enlighten me and everybody here, I would appreciate it big time :good::good::good:

I'm on poison, which includes root. I have magisk manager and although the safety net fails, magisk hide works fine with snapchat.
hello, im new to the forums. I am looking for a rom that runs an early version of marshmallow that will play pokemon go. Ive tried a few roms but they come up with unsupported OS. Ive even tried using magisk and safetynet fix but i just get the same problem. Really frustrating. If anyone can give me a recommendation and simple instructions, I would greatly appreciate it. thanks

I don't think so. PKG is safetynet enabled, so rooting should automatically trip that.

Custom ROM basically makes this not an option. Try loading Magisk (make sure it's your Sole superuser manager) and implementing the Safetynet bypass. Otherwise, you have to re-lock your bootloader and ... I think, be running the base ROM that came with your phone.

so youre saying to go back to completely stock and lock the bootloader? normally that would be fine, but i made a backup with a password enabled and now when i reload my backup, the password doesnt work. so im kind of screwed there as well.

Banking apps and games like pokemon go originally dont work on custom roms.
It triggers safetynet even without root so Magisk is here to be able to pass it.

Installed AEX again and installed magisk. Selected Barclays app in magisk hide but still same result, just hangs at start screen and will not go to next screen for setup. Am I doing something wrong?

I tried what you've requested.
Actually, its my first time installing international banking app, LOL
I installed two banking apps.
Barclay's app just hanged on title screen
And the app from Local bank work pretty well.
Now about the Barclay, is a known issue from rooted phones. I guess is doesn't work even i use Magisk Hide.
This is old version of Barclay's app 1.3.3 , the new update does not work on rooted or custom roms.

It's not working because the bootloader is unlocked.

Hi there, all!
I'm a bit new to Xiaomi flashing since this is my first Xiaomi daily driver. I wanted to know what I will lose if I unlock my bootloader. I know its pretty simple to do and I want to do so to get Dolby Atmos on my Mi 10. I am currently on MIUI 12.5.1 Stable and if I do unlock my bootloader, install TWRP, and flash in Dolby Atmos support, will I get OTA updates, and will my phone be flagged as rooted in a way that some apps like Snapchat or banking apps won't launch anymore. I won't be rooting it since I don't really need it, unless I do need to for the Dolby Atmos flash. Thanks!
If you are planning on running the same rom you have now you will have problems with banking apps for sure.
There are ways of fixing it with root and different Magisk modules.
If you install Xiaomi.eu Beta you should be able to run everything without root.
In my opinion you shouldn't unlock just for Dolby Atmos.

True, but I do want to flash it with an AOSP 12 port when it's available. Will those ROMs work with Banking Apps and such? Cause back on Samsung there's Knox and the single-trip firmware fuze. Does it exist also on Mi phones?

Xiaomi doesn't have a special software like Knox, it all depends on the ROM.
