technically you could, as google stated that marshmellow supports storage cards, but lg removed it from their rom. if you have a nexusP you should be able to use that feature
Some apps can be moved to the SD card. It is a mater of going into the setup /Apps of each program and seeing.

On my samsung card I was actually prompted if I wanted to use it as a storage partition or an program/app partition. This was on a fresh install though I didn't get this prompt with my new card (the other one failed).
Even without that prompt you can get apps moved to the sdcard by going to:
- app info screen (where you can force close an app)
- press the storage entry
- press change under storage used
- select your external card

Hey,
I'm currently running SuperNexus Build2, any like in any other AOSP rom, i cannot use my SD card. It is detected in the settings, but can't do anything else with it. I can use it CWM without problems, though.
I guess it is formatted in EXFAT, which isn't supported by AOSP roms.
What is the easiest way to reformat it? Should I format it in FAT32? I don't have any adapter, hope it won't be necessary. I bet it was asked many times before, but can't find anything relevant...
Format this card via phone in Settings - storage. It will be reformator in FAT32 filety system readable by phone. Backup all your data first from this sd.

I don't see such option available in settings. How about formatting external card via CWM? Any programs for W7 so I can do it via USB?
No,I formatted the card to fat 32, but it didn't solve the problem...

I dont think Supernexus really supports SD Cards. Sure it appears there as available storage, but since all Google Nexus devices dont support external SD Cards, im guessing the AOSP doesnt include any code for formatting/using the cards. This is all left for device manufacturers and developers to implement... just a guess.
We would need someone with the expertise such as Faryaab to add real support for external cards.

Hallo,
I'm using epinters cm10.
I asked me, if it is possible, that only the sdcard or the internal storage is given to the PC, and not always both, i dont want to give the sdcard all time to the PC, any ideal?
Greetz,
Marcel

Hello everybody
I have a S4 mini that works perfectly with CM11 and has the perfect size for me, so I hope not to change it for many years The only problem is that internal storage is quite tight, so my hope is to move or link the internal sdcard (/mnt/shell/emulated/0 or the entire location /mnt/shell/emulated) to the 2nd partition of my 64GB external sdcard. In the past, I made a init.d script for my previous phone (which had KK) that moves the files in the internal sd on a tmp folder, mounts the 2nd partition on the internal sd path and then moves the files back (the moving files thing, only to keep the files still eventually present on the internal folder inserad of the 2nd partition), but on the S4mini I cannot have it working again because of some problem in using the internal sdcard as a mountpoint. I already tried to change the permissions on that folders into the script and to execute the commands as different user in the script but nothing.
Someone could please help me or pint me to the right direction to link/mount/somethingelse the 2nd partition as internal sdcard? If possible I prefer a init.d script or a mountpoint change instead of an app because of the zero manteinance and the fact that preferably I don't want to rely on an app.
Thank you

Sorry, I asked because I thought it could be understood from the first message.
I will use it for using the 2nd partition of my uSD card instead of the internal emulated sdcard. In this way I could use all the internal memory for the apps and the data will be saved on the larger 2nd sdcard partition.

Up... In this holydays I've time to test something... Could someone please help me?
Hi. I'm on a Note 10.1 2014. Actually I'm using LineageOS but sometimes I miss some TW features.
I would like to know if there is a way to enable, like in MM and N, the possibility to assign the external SD as internal archive to expand internal memory.
I already tried App2SD app, but I bricked one SD (it still works, but can't be set as expansion anymore) so I don't want to use it.
It there a code via ADB or terminal that can enable that feature?

No but you also have to remember that many oem are removing the feature from their devices. Also once it is converted to be used you can't pull it out anymore without wiping your device.

Thank you. I know it can't be removed, but for someone with a good tablet with "only" 16gb of internal memory it is a good feature, especially if we use the tablet for gaming.
