Bought rn3
first time it fully charged in Little over 2 hours
I checked ampere app and it showed 1600-1700mA while charging
Then today morning again I put to charge with same official charger
and it doesn't charge !!
it shows charging but percentage don't increase
it sometimes even decreases!
I checked ampere app and now showing just 90-180mA current
I used a 1.5A Samsung charger and it charges with 750mA current
what's wrong?

Did you check if your phone still is communicating via USB? Because I have nearly the same issue.
I one wondered why my phone always was bringing this sound fpr plugging/unplugging the charger.
I assumed this was issued by a small charger which could not devliver enough current (usually up to 1800mA). So I used another one over the night.
Next day I expected it to be fully charged but it didn't charge at all. The app Ampere showed me just 100mA.
Then I've recognized that the USB-communication did not work anymore. So I guess that until there's no charger or PC-USB recognized, there's a limit to 100mAh.
I tested several chargers, cables and no chance to achieve more current. USB plug seems to be broken or something.
It doesn't matter if phone is powered on or off.
Then I've checked the Test-Menu. You need to shut down and then press VolUp, VolDown and Power all together.
Even from there I did not get any more current. And then I've chosen from Test-Menu the Reboot-Menu, choose Shutdown.
Now I got a 1000ma current!!!! Seems that somewhere the software restriction to 100mA is not active at this point.
Well, trying to fix this by getting the spare parts. First delivery did not fit. Second Delivery did fit, but phone did not boot.
USB-Plugin seems to be okay. the phone was a few days old.
I really don't know why anyone uses a 2A charger with this phone... Ideal conditions for charging a 4000mAh battery, or any other for that matter, would be 500mA to 1A current. I am using my trusty old LG 850mAh charger with this phone, and it charges properly, without heating up the battery. On the original charger, it went up to 38+ degrees Celsius. Now, it stays close to 30.

I have a ton of micro-USB chargers that I've used with my GNex and Evo3D with no issue. The only consideration I take into account is Amperage, and I toss the ones below 800 mAh. Last night I plugged into one thats around 850 mAh and left my phone to charge all night (at around 5%). When I woke up, the phone had completely discharged without any sort of recharge.
Since this isn't a Nexus phone, am I locked in to only using verizon branded chargers? Is there a way to defeat that with root?
I haven't had any issues with that as I use all different types. Maybe just try another or maybe it wasn't plugged in all the way.
What voltage is it rated at? It could be that or that the charger is bad somehow. I charge mine nightly with a .7A charger and it's always been full when I wake up (about 30-50% when I go to sleep).
I have the sprint note 2 but they are essentially the same phone so here is what Igot for you:
there is no "smart" element to any chargers in the market, so your phone shouldn't know the difference between Verizon brand and the devil's own brand
if you look at the stock charger it outputs 2 amps...the phone needs this and in my experience it needs at least 1 amp in order to charge instead of discharging slower
also there is a known issue with all note 2s that the cable will not sit snugly inside the port causing it to be a bad connection... just make sure you put it in hard (no pun intended) and it shouldn't be a problem

Yeah, if you take a close look at the micro-usb port, it is recessed a bit. Make sure you plug the cable in firmly.

I think this was likely the issue. The charger is rated at 1 Amp, and I tried it out again last night and it appeared to work for the few seconds I had it plugged in, so I must not have had it in there snugly.
So I just tested with the same charger, and when I plug it in, it beeps every half second and flashes between the charging/discharging symbol, and does not charge...

I don't remember where, but I remember reading about someone with this issue where they were using their phone as a gps while charging it and it died. Someone commented saying that the culprit was probably a faulty charger. Sounds like they were right.

I have seen this same thing with two Droid X's plugged into the same 2A charger. One phone would charge and the other would do exactly as you describe. It didn't do it all the time, it just depended on how low the battery levels were on each device. How much battery life do you have left when it does this? You may just need to use a higher amperage charger.
I have not received my Note II yet, but it sucks that I will most likely not be able to charge it while tethered (USB) to my laptop.
Based on the info I could find (kernel driver), the phone will accept up to 650mA of power, so anything over that should charge the phone at the same rate. Voltage shouldn't be an issue as it is charging via USB, which is 5V (+/- 5%). Unless someone has an amp probe to put on it, we can't tell if it is actually pulling more or less than what the driver specifies. And, as someone else stated, the phone can't tell if you're using a genuine Samsung cable and charger, or a $1.00 made in China cable/charger, as long as they both output the same voltage/amperage, the phone will never know the difference.
Based on what you said though, if the phone is constantly seeing the charger connect/disconnect, that would drain the battery even faster.
Donno if its the regular case of 'bad usb port'. It's happening only when I'm charging with specific car charger (1A, output 5V) sometimes its charging fine, sometimes I notice its stop charge and the icon of battery is blinking/flashing...
I've tried to clean the usb cable and port from dust, maybe the cable got some dust into it?
Also I've notice that the temperature of device goes down to 22°C when its happening...
At any other chargers (include othe car chargers and other wall chargers) there is no problem at all...
What could be the reason of this specific car charger (it used to work without any problem the last few months ago)?
High/Low voltage? Dust?
maybe other problem with my device? (Battery/something else)
BTW - when I plug the charger out when its happening its stop blinking.
could you please give us a screenshot?

From reading your post, it only happens with that one charger....any other charger works as expected?
That being the case.....it ain't your phone or the USB port/board in the phone.....
Chargers DO fail, and from my experience, dc to dc step down transformers and circuitry (the type in your car charger) have a higher failure rate than their ac to dc (mains) equivalents. ....
Time to buy a new car charger methinks

@wishmas7er - which screenshot mate? when its happens all I see is blinking/flashing battery icon, without any other message or something else about it.
@keithross39 - correctly mate, all other charger (any kind of them) works just fine.
Yeah seems like its the car charger problem, just first time i've notice it...
Thanks!
BTW - the reason of 'bad touch' while charging with some generic chargers is because higher amperage then should be to this device's battery? or other reason?
As long as the amperage is not ludicrously high or low, the only noticeable difference would be the charge time.....other than that there should be no noticable effect....

Battery Icon Flashing with Samsung Galaxy S4 Car Charger
I had the same problem charging my Galaxy S4 in the car. AC charging works fine but when plugged into the DC car charger the battery indicator icon flashed rather than showing the lightning bolt.
I purchased a higher voltage DC charger adapter, same symptom.
Finally I swapped out the USB-to-micro cable and now it works fine. I suspect that in the car the phone gets jarred over time and it wears down the micro-USB connector.
It's not just you fella........
The micro USB socket idea is (imo) a pathetically fragile arrangement for what the manufacturers intend it to do. I've repaired two phones with worn out sockets, and judging by what I am reading on XDA, it is an issue that is getting more and more common.........

So I'm experiencing the same blinking problem with my note 4. Each time the lightning icon blinks the phone vibrates in sync with it. And ithe galena with all charges. I have to keep unplugging and replugging ...and OCCASIONALLY it charges. I don't know what's the problem

I have same problem with my nexus 4.
After some googling I came across an app called Ampere.
This app tells you how much rate of current your battery is charging at.
So what i found is that when phone gets old the battery doesnt hold up charge as before. So the charge rate becomes slow. The nexus charger is rated at 1Amp and at the time of charging is able to provide low current than the rate at which the battery is draining. So the Android gets confused between charging and discharging.
For eg: if phone is charging at 300mA and draining at 350mA.
Also the battery draining rate is constantly changing. So when its greater than charging rate phone shows discharging and if less : charging...
Fix: There are three fixes which i can think ...
1) Get a higher Amp rated charger...
2) while charging close most of apps , dont play games , switch to a lower gen network like 2g , close wifi , close data which will reduce the discharge rate of the battery.
3) Get a new battery.
So I'm experiencing the almost the same blinking problem with my note 4. Each time the lightning icon blinks the phone vibrates in sync with it. It won't come on it won't reboot I've tried everything BUT replace the battery because if I plug it up it'll vibrate and blink but nothing else works. It's completely black when it's unplugged.
Is it possible to edit our max charge rate or enable qualcomm quick charge 2.0 where the hell are these settings on our phone.
It really just depends on your charger block. I noticed that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8 inch tablet has a charging block with higher amperage than the Sony ones. Puts out more charge, but I notice the device does get hotter than the usual charger. It could just be me since I don't usually sit there to compare heat differences in a charger.
With Ampere though, festively notice more charge going in.
I've noticed the same thing. When I use a Note 4 or Note5 charger, the device becomes increasingly hotter but definitely charges faster. Ironically, if the phone completely dies and shuts off, it will not accept a charge from any of the Samsung charges that I have in the house due to an error message saying that the charger is not supported.
I got a pop up window when using a note 4 charger to stop using it and use the official cord. Wouldn't charge all the way.
Hello guys, So I bought an almost new Honor View 10 from someone and they gave me the phone with a Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger and not the Huawei one. It works when I plug it except I noticed 2 things:
1) The phone stops charging few seconds after I log into the phone and start using it.
2) Battery duration was fantastic at first, said 2 days x hours left at 100% charge, now it says about 1 day x hours left.
The output on the charger is 9V 1.67A or 5V 2A. I have charged the phone about 4 or 5 times since getting it. So what do you guys think ? Is this charger ok and I should keep using it( i.e It wont ruin my battery) or should I spend some money and buy a Huawei one?
Thanks !
I rather prefer the original one, to prevent thigs like is happening to you
I don't think Super Charge will work with the Samsung charger.
Samsung's Adaptive Charger won't work as quick charge on view10, it will only charge the phone at the rate of 5v 2a.
Hey guys
two months ago i bought the Xiaomi Mi A3 in an official Xiaomi store in Lima, Peru. Since then I was charging the phone either with the original charger or the one from Huawei rated at 2A output or a third party charger rated at 2.4A output or a power bank. Everything always worked fine.
Suddenly since yesterday when i plug the phone onto the charger it says "charging slowly". I let it charge over night and starting from 5% it only reached 20%. It said it needed 1d and 18h to finish charging. Great.
The app Ampere tells me that it's charging with inbetween 320mA and 440mA which is way too low.
Of course I tried different cables and chargers to no avail.
Please help me. I can't bring it back to the store as I'm back in Germany now. Is it broken? Only after two months?
