I have an unmodified phone and I don't need either as miui is extremely aggressive in closing apps. Not sure how CM handles it.

why do you want to combine greenify and naptime...both have the same functionality i.e aggressive doze. i use greenify but its your choice which one to use!both works perfectly great! I use greenify because it hibernates apps as well..while using naptime i had to use servicely + naptime for the same. so it depends on you! good luck!

Ok thank you

[APP][Android 4.0+][DVFS Disabler][1.3.0] Disable Samsung Touchwiz DVFS

This Application will let you disable the Touchwiz DVFS (Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling), and prevent any CPU/GPU table adjusting through the Samsung DVFS helper.
Why? because it seems to cause much troubles than it fixes, check @mattiadj thread for more details.
How to install:
1- Install Xposed Installer (http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk)
2- Install Xposed Framework through Xposed Installer App
3- Download DVFS Disabler (Link bellow)
4- Enable it on the Xposed Installer modules
5- Reboot your device
Download.
Tested on my GalaxyS4 (I9505) and GalaxyS5 (G900F) running Android Touchwiz Kitkat 4.4.2.
Change-logs:
1.3.0:
- Add a blacklist option when you enable DVFS, this will let you disable DVFS on some of your selected games, heavy apps...
Required permissions:
- Internet for Ads to support my work, you can remove them through the "Remove Ads" menu
Big thanks to @mattiadj for his help with tests and debugging.
Thanks to @rovo89 and @Tungstwenty for their awesome work on Xposed framework.
This looks great thx! I sometimes wondered why weird things would happen during gaming, where a restart was the only fix to fix lag/jutter
Hi wanam is this the same setting you have in your xposed module
@wanam: you also have an option to enable/disable DVFS in Wanam Xposed module. Is this the same thing so I don't need the extra DVFS module? And if yes, do I have to tick or untick that option to disable?

Nop, it's an updated implementation to support both JB and Kitkat.

This is NOT aimed to boost your benchmarks, it should show you your cpu real perfs, Samsung used DVFS to cheat on its GS4 benchmarks, but they used it also to set some cpufreq limitations.

Thanks for the clarification
Which Samsung devices using DVFS? (s4 and note3?)
Great app... Solid work!! :good:
Am I not understanding, I thought all smartphone soc whether Samsung or not have stock kernel that use dvfs to scale cpu (and gpu) frequency up to meet heavy loads and similarly dropped frequency back down when under lower load or after prolonged high load due to thermal throttling.
How does Samsung differ from this ? (I am aware of so called cheating when certain benchmark detected)

I knew that, but the reason I was asking is I wanted to know what the real benchmark scores were and not the boosted fake ones. So is there anyway you could do before/after to see how the s4 really scores?

Yes and i'm not touching the kernel dvfs implementation, Samsung monitor and adjust its settings through its TW framework, that's why i tried to deal only with this framework.
Hello wanam
Thanks a lot for your Xposed module!
One question: I'm pretty sure this module will affect the battery. Can you tell me whether disabling the DVFS causes a heavy battery drain?
I don't play a lot of games on my Galaxy S4 i9505, anyway I wonder if it makes sense disabling it for me due to that fact.
Is this any different from using Wanam Xposed -> Advanced -> Unchecking "Enable DVFS"? Because I already use Wanam Xposed.
Thanks for your work, by the way.
2 questions:
Does this module affect battery life?
Does this module affect the power saving feature found in touchwiz roms.
Thanks
Great app...Work Perfect in all Games.
Thanks Wanam For Support.

Which ROM coupled with which kernel gave you the best battery life?

I'm trying out several ROMs, but I'm biased towards battery backup rather than performance because I barely play games and take pictures occassionally. Currently on Hydrogen OS/H2OS v2 with Boeffla Kernel (the Boeffla-Config app doesn't work even after all auto start prerequisite instructions have been carried out). So, which ROM with which kernel gave you the best battery life? Excluding and including Xposed modules?

I would go with Tesla N. If you want MM, then I recommend modded OOS.
There are three profiles inside L Speed. Battery, Balanced, Performance.
But if you want I can upload my setup in some hours
Here it is!?
1. Install L speed (if you want sign for betas)
2. download my zip and place the file inside in sdcard > LSpeedBackup
3. restore backup in the App
4. if you don't use interactive based gov, turn govtuner off

It's not interactive based, but zzmoove is also supported. You can test without govtuner for a day and then with govtuner "balanced" and zzmoove (don't use zmoove with govtuner "battery", it lags as hell). And on the third day you can test interactive with govtuner "battery"
Here you can check which governor to use: https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/ref-to-date-guide-cpu-governors-o-t3048957

If you use my L speed profile, change kernel tweaks from heavy to light. It's better at the moment.

I haven't drain like this. Did you restart your phone after restoring the backup?
And you should set that L Speed make his changes after 15 or 20 seconds, so it is after the Kernel management app

I didn't. I get good SOT, but when the phone is sleeping, something drains the battery. I have been using this phone a lil less than a year now. Could it be a battery problem?

Download Better Battery Stats and let it analyse a night when you sleep.
Maybe your device can't get into deep sleep or there are some wakelocks.
There are good instructions to do this, for example: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57507885&postcount=3

Hello guys after I tried a lot of ROMs combo kernels roms blabla if any1 want to try its free and trust me u will love it.
The best combo its here super smooth
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298984356 RRD by movzx notice the 09-09-2017 build (Nougat)
https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1RiBJVEj4Y2aBnGQFwa7fhpDMPJOYOrsb Shadow Kernel 4.7 choose settings for performance-hexa core and apply undervolt and disable f-sync/ choose permissive selinux (if u want any magisk module)
Apply those settings in darkness app for gaming
Turn off arch power
Change both thermals to 80 Celsius
And happy gaming!
Small update: if any1 want vulkan api (cuz some apps support that API ofc) use the guide to enable it vulkan api activator etc
Also I added some photos to check battery usage too it was 4 hour of gaming 1 hour lost as u can compare cuz from one restart I had to do cuz forgot to enable my sound mods on magisk xd

Thanks for the advice. I read somewhere that disabling f-sync causes instability and some issues. If I skip disabling f-sync and leave it as-is and apply all other settings, will it still be fine?
@habitbuilderwarrior yes you can leave it on but here no problems cuz never had a random reboot to loose data etc its up to u
I don't play games, but love performance for daily usage too. Have undervolting improved battery backup during gaming too?

Why do all custom roms have bad battery drain on idle?

all custom roms on this device have bad idle battery drain, latest i tried was RR oreo with DA kernel and got 20%+ overnight drain.
im asking this because laptop linux OSes dont have this problem. i've tried endless linux flavours on laptop and never had battery drain issues so what is the problem with custom roms on this device?

modified any settings for kernel?
Its because the device keeps awake at after screen off. Faced the same issue, its fixable by disconnecting the battery. Open up the back cover and disconnect it for a min. It will be fixed. Watch YouTube video to see how to open back cover.
1% - 2% overnight idle battery drain on ArrowOS Oreo + Universe Kernel + Magisk + Xposed + 80 apps.
Intelligent use of Greenify + GMS Doze (magisk module) helps alot.

CPU-hotplug: screen off single cpu-on
GPU: governor-performance (gaming reasons)

What is the best custom ROM(nougat or higher) for Kenzo 2GB variant?

I need a good custom rom for Kenzo 2gb by which I can play Fate GO with root and have good performance overall and stable. The one currently I'm using is a Hydrogen port of a Miuipro rom by Orochi. But I experience sudden hangs when using the phone and can't play Fate GO and other online games with Magisk Hide.

I don't think Fate GO needs that much high specs, even if I am a 3gb ram user, if I use AGNi it will automatically crash in 8 mins of gameplay + even I experience lag sometimes ONLY WHILE LOADING but when the battle starts no lag

Also if you want Battery but also wanna play games
Then choose "CPU and GPU's stock undervolting values"
While flashing the kernel
AGNi is the best if you want game and battery
Radon best for gaming
And yes I also watch anime a lot and
If you are having trouble playing FGO with magisk then do this
1. Turn off USB Debugging mode
2 hide magisk manager (it has an option in settings)
3. Select FGO in magisk hide
You are done. I pray to gods to give you a 5* star servant.

still use kenzo even now writing this. kinda miracle it survived total indifference and purposeful destruction. next var, imo, is t one n only for kenzo.
•Bootleggers Rom 3.0/20190121 with Radon v6.3r7.1 kernel.
•Magisk's FDE.AI module (for example)
•AppOps app with only auto-template to disable autoboot, run_in_background and wakelock perms.
thats it. min free 1Gb ram with empty background till end. for your purposes. next s optional n absolutely unnessry. simply a way to completely get lagless mob.
•Microg Microg Microg Microg... Absolutely must-have service. Use Nanodroid to flash-n-forget.
•Tasker and Secure Settings plugin with only task to enable *4-app background limit* in DevSettings after every reboot. u can force Tasker to self-kill after, tho)
•EX Manager (pref.), init.d or anything to set prefered OOM-killer digs, f.e. 50/100/150/200/250/400 ?
•Finally disabling services, recivers, activities... via MyAndroidTools and Apk Editor will totally exclude battery draining.
•Running NullLauncher with external killable app-drawer will use about 10mb ram.
hmmm.. sounds ez ?
ps:every action, except AppOpps, Tasker and EX set, must b made in recovery after flashing clean custom, before first boot.
