I have a rooted Moto E (XT1025) with installed Link2SD.
I wish convert some system apps to user apps, so could them be moved to the SD Card, but I don't know which ones can I convert without to break the OS. I will really appreciate some help.
only the google apps can be converted to an user app (except the framework apps of google, like google partner setup)

What are the best paid apps for x8?
dont tell me where to get it from
just which ones you use and why
Titanium Backup Pro-The free version is also very good, but the paid has some extras, like converting system apps to user apps and you can have more than one backup of each app.
Root Explorer-A must-have app for all root users, you can read and write all folders, change the permissions, view databases (.db files) and much more.
NFS Shift-It´s a cool game, but note that there are different versions for Eclair+Froyo and Gingerbread.
whats the function of converting system apps to user ones?
root explorer.
need it everytime lol.
to copy ax8mt, edit build.prop etc

I have a YP-G70 (with hardware home button), running stock 2.2 and rooted. When I try to use adfree, android complains about not enough space for the hosts file in /etc. Is there a solution for that other than installing custom ROM (I can't do that for now, for various reasons...)
Thanks!
If you have root, you can get Titaninum Backup Pro and use it to convert some system apps to user apps.
Some apps that are safe to convert are Email, Memo, MiniDiary, Calculator and Calendar. There are some more, but that should give you enough space.

I couldn't convert minidiary or calculator --- TBP keeps running. But even if I could, together they don't have release enough space for the hosts file (about 1MB). But I was able to convert the Think Office app, which is +8MB, and after that I was able to copy over the hosts file to /etc.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

Actually this is one of the problem I am trying to tackle in the next update of my ROM. A testing version of my ROM can now have over 40MB free space in /system by installing various Samsung apps and Google apps to /data.
Since stock firmware has old collection of google apps, and updating means it doesn't over write the system apps, it justs creates another copy- would it be possible to wipe the collection of stock google apps, then flash over a new updated collection of google apps? I have
gapps-gb-20110828-signed, but with 2011 date that seems pretty old. Isn't there a 2012/2013 build?
Also my phone has LK1 firmware, would this be useful to you guys?

simply update the app you want to, and then integrate the update into rom with the help of link2sd or titanium backup
Sent from my GT-S5830i using xda app-developers app
cheers will give updating system app a go. It's worked for play store, but for maps and youtube when I action, integate... it says system full. Even though I still have 70MB free.
I guess uninstall updates, delete maps & youtube manually in es file explorer and re-download again? It was only play store that is handy having it integrated, since that is an essential app to download other google apps.
got it working. rebooted, then let kies update firmware, rebooted again, then integrated maps and yotube
seems to work, however since doing linksd update system app, google service has stopped responding. No way of having a clean ROM with very latest google play store? The one I've seen has a older build, and other google apps. So it'll update it anyway.
one work around is moving play services and play store to user app. Delete any play services/play store in system. Now it won't create another copy, it'll use the user one. Of course if you do a reset it'll lose those files, but since it's easy to restore or recovery not a big deal (and saving 20 MB)

Is necessary ROOT? Yes and no. For many operation is ROOT necessary, but when you need only uninstall specific application you can use for this operation app called "Debloater by Gatesjunior" (can be found here). If you have ROOT, u can use Titanium Backup, System app remover or one of the many other apps on Google Play. If you have experience with root folder, so can delete APK files from folders above.
Use of this list or material is, at all times, "at your own risk." I am not responsible for any damages or losses personal data like database, files etc....

You can try the debloat script available here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/development/script-stock-rom-debloat-kiw-l24-usa-t3307924
Try rebuilding it for your phone ..
@ gopinaidu77
This looks good Thx
Maybe i can try make the script for better experience
The Huawei apps should probably be freezed instead of uninstalled stuff can stop working or you may need it in the future
I know it But many apps not necessary, so can be uninstalled without any problems (Notepad, Swype keyboard, file manager and many others). If I find some trouble after uninstall apk, recover this file and use freeze. List above i have tested, so is safe.
And every user can use own method for cleaning the phone. For all test is better make nand backup or backup APK files

No , there were certain apps which you never use , or use once or twice in the whole month.
U can uninstall them . But there is a need of basic apps as said earlier . the main cause of root requirement is To remove bloatware . every Android owner roots to just remove bloat and later thinks about costumisation

Remove GApps completly (for rooted phones)
I am attaching 2 scripts for Marshmallow and Nougat.
Flash using TWRP recovery. This will remove the pre-installed google apps completly.
Flash this before updating the apps from Play Store.
If you have already updated the apps, after flashing the script, you can still manually uninstall the updates.
You can then flash OpenGapps or MicroG
This is just gapps, right? Great for when I eventually root my Honor 8.
Any solution for Huawei apps other than doing it manually?

Hey,
I flashed the script to remove the pre-installed GApps through TWRP on my Honor 8 (US version) but it doesn't look like it worked. All the apps still show up as they were during the initial setup of the phone.
I ran the script right after I rooted and installed TWRP and Xposed, so I didn't setup/use the Play Store or download any updates.
Any ideas on what the issue might be?
Hello,
I'm on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (SM-T530 matissewifi) Stock ROM Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop), TWRP 3.0.0.0 recovery, I made a backup of all partitions except data and cache.
I found a custom ROM here https://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/orig-development/rom-lineageos-16-0-tab-4-8-0-10-1-t4032901 many many thanks to its developers and contributors I flashed open_gapps-arm-9.0-pico-20200918.zip after flashing lineage-16.0-20200913-UNOFFICIAL-matissewifi.zip.
Everything worked fine except for the stock launcher (Trebuchet launcher) which keeps crashing.
So i tried to replace some apps of the custom ROM by converting Google Chrome, Google contacts, Xiaomi file manager and Nova Launcher as System Apps and removing Stock Browser, Stock Contacts app, Stock File Manager and Trebuchet launcher using Link2SD https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD&hl=en
After rebooting as asked by Link2SD i'm stuck on lineage boot screen and after around 10 minutes tablet reboots to recovery.
What did i do wrong? And how can I replace the stock apps (at least the stock launcher) without breaking the system?
@efidrs
Apps for good reason are categorized as system apps and user apps. The vast majority of system apps ( except the so-called bloatware ) are required to make the device run. There are dependencies, too. Converting an user app to system app doesn't make any sense at all, IMHO, because you simultaneously unnecessarily shrink the by default small storage space in device's /system partition.
System apps use native libraries (libsomething.so files) from Android's common system libraries directory (typically /system/lib or /system/lib64), and not from the app-private libraries directory. Knowing this you know the main reason why an user app you converted to system app may not run, why Android system may crash.

Thank you for your answer, but i guess i had to replace the stock launcher with pixel launcher by flashing aroma gapps but I'm still curious how i can convert a user app to a system app, i have plenty of space for the /system partition
