hi guyz i recently bought htc one m9 unlocked s-off mobile from ebay
after close inspection it turned out to be a sprint carrier htc one m9 bloatware loaded mobile
my network sim worked for about 3 days without any issue but after recent PATCH UPDATE it says the "sim lock is enabled data services may not work"
now i dont know how my network sim(aircel) worked if it is a sprint htc mobile
IAM UNABLE TO ROOT WITH ANY VERSION OF SUPERSU neither am i able do anything (yes im a noob) im not a developer.
i tried flashing bad boyz custom rom with htc_fastboot command but the error says file too big
and tried doing sprint wwe 651.13 and sprint wwe 651.4 ruu.exe setup but getting an error mobile id mismatch
how can i flash either a ruu or custom rom in order to get back my network back and disable my simLOCK

I bought a used HTC Hero (Telus) on Craigslist to use with T-Mobile and Rogers (yes I'm aware of the different 3G frequencies, I don't care if my data is slower in the USA)
I purchased an unlock code, and the instructions provided were to put the SIM in and it would ask me for the unlock code. This did not happen. Short version: I decided to try and update to cyanogen 6.1 in order to try again and hope that this version of the OS will ask me for an unlock code.. I am unable to install cyanogen, I get hung up on errors about signature verification after following the steps here:
wiki cyanogenmod dot com Full Update Guide - HTC Hero (GSM)
Ideally for now I'd be happy to stick with the Android 2.1-update1 if I can just get it unlocked.. can anyone help?
Discovered on google that the clockwork mod recovery doesn't work with telus android 2.1. Used the ra method installed by rom manager instead. Now I have cyanogen running, but still no option to unlock when I insert tmobile sim. It does however think it's roaming on Rogers which is consistent with tmobile, but call fails when I try to dial. Anyone know how to force the entry of an unlock code?

Maybe your SIM card is toast? Can you get another SIM from a friend to try out?
Turns out just cyanogen unlocked it... I must have been in a poor reception spot when the call failed. All is well now.
Hi i have the HTC legend 2.2 on vodafone (but not locked just bloatware)
Whats is the correct order if any
1.debrand (done this and it failed) ERROR [131]: CUSTOMER ID ERROR
2.downgrade
3.rooting (does this mean std native htc or is this something you have to do to any htc phone)
4.re put back on 2.2 or 2.3 after downgrade
All i really want is to debrand so i can put in other sim cards and the apn work ok,
o2 sims take about 3 or 4 goes unless you reset to defaults
orange internet does not work period.
Thanks

To fix ERROR [131] you need to create a GoldCard. For a simple method, I have compiled a guide to root the vodafone HTC Legend - www.chirag.co.uk
De-branding your phone doesn't unlock your phone - unless as your phone is from the vodafone Business section.
I bought an htc one m8 last week from a friend, seemed to be fully unlocked and tried many sims and worked perfectly. When i tried to update the phone (OTA) from 4.4.4 to lollipop the phone shows that its up to date. I contacted htc chat support and they requested my imei, they told me it's an at&t device and i have to wait for the update, I told them that the device is unlocked, they told me it's hardware locked and i have to wait for the update. I didn't hear of that before especially that i'm not from america, there is no anything referring to at&t, the phone doesn't have the at&t logo on the back and when it boots it doesn't show it. If it's really hardware locked is there any way to unlock it, or is there any way to install lollipop?
SIM unlock that allows you to use another carrier's SIM has nothing to do with how the updates roll out. The updates roll out based on the phone's CID (carrier ID) and model MID (model ID). The only way to change those is with sunshine s-off ($25 US). Otherwise, the HTC rep is correct in that AT&T has not rolled out the Lollipop update yet. And when they do, you won't get it OTA. You need to be connected to AT&T's network for that. But you will be able to update by downloading the RUU to a PC and updating that way.
