I could have sworn there was a dialer code that removed carrier customization. It would remove it and factory reset the phone. Anyone have insight to what that code may be? I saw it in one of the threads on here, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

I have flashed several ROMS created by Xboarder and several have had Sip Settings. I am unfamiliar with these settings and would like some insight. From what I have read online it has something to do with VOIP which I never use so if that is the case I have tried locating it via Titanium Backup to delete it and can never find it within Titanium Backup. If someone could point me in the right direction of that I would appreciate it. Thanks
Sip calling is a part of gingerbread. You may never use it but there is no way of removing it. It's built into the Rom in the same way that being able to select a ringtone is. Even though you may never change your ringtone the functionality will be there for that just in case situation
is it possible to even remove the shortcut from the app menu? i too can't find the file with root explorer.
just ignore it man, whats the infatuation with getting rid of it?
nothing? just don't want it there?
what you seek is ims service
AT&T-branded Titan. I was using it as a GoPhone. Today I joined AT&T formally, which brought with it a new SIM.
Now in the Marketplace, there is no 'AT&T Apps' section and I can't find any of the AT&T apps. I wanted to add the "my account" one.
I really would like to avoid resetting the phone just to get at this... Anyone have the XAP? Or know how to get my phone re-branded? Not sure what happened here.

I'm guessing pulling the battery didn't work? (for a complete soft-reset).
Factory reset
I also did not have the AT&T or the HTC Apps in marketplace.
a hard reset (Settings, About, reset phone)did not fix but a "Factory reset" fixed everything. I normally do this first thing when I get a new phone but this time I did not and it burned me.Se La Ve.
I ended up doing a hard reset (settings->about), which fixed it for me.
I tried posting this in the sticky thread for clearing settings at the top of the page here but I'm not sure anybody's reading that anymore. So here it is if anybody has the answer:
At this point, when I try to open Google Wallet it just gives me the message saying it's unsupported for my device and my only option is to click "ok" which closes the app. This means I can't go in and clear the settings. Does that mean if I flash a new rom I'll bring the NFC chip or did the update to the app clear the settings? Sorry if this has been answered. I didn't see it anywhere.
Yes, if you flash a new rom OR do a factory reset you will kill the chip (if you have setup Google Wallet EVER on this phone in the past). You must clear wallet before flashing any rom or doing a reset.
Then is there a work around to get past that screen so that I can clear the settings? Modifying the build.prop maybe?
Have you ever set up google wallet previously on your current Rom?
Lol, that's the thing. I don't remember if I did it with this rom or not and there's no way to know (at least that I'm aware of).

This isn't true. It hasn't been definitively confirmed that this is what 'kills' the secure element. I've done exactly this (factory reset the device after already having Wallet set up without clearing the settings at all), and my Wallet still works fine. Others have confirmed this as well. I've also flashed new ROMs without clearing Wallet, with no ill effects.
Captain Throwback,
First thanks for all the work you have done (going back to wimax)
secondly are you aware of a way to reset the 'secure element no longer responding' (either with or w/o rooting/editing code)
if not, is the only way to get a replacement device?

I've never had that error, so unfortunately I don't know. I know some people's secure elements are very touchy, though. If you have this error without having rooted the device (only by accepting the OTA), I think a trip to the Sprint store is in order.
I got a message a while back in Google Now asking me "Do you care about this place?" and at that time I said NO. Google Now then indicates that it will no longer notify me about this place and that is done. However has anyone figured out how to undo this? What if I change my mind and now I do want to know about travel time to this place? I searched everywhere but couldn't find anything. I am thinking that clearing my location history might be the only solution, but I don't want to loose all this data.
Anyone have any ideas?

I know this is somewhat old but I can't find an answer to this anywhere. I've seen a few other places where people are asking the same thing. Does anyone know if this can be manually fixed, or if it maybe resets when you start visiting that place more often?
Wondering if the ROM disabled *228 function on a Sprint phone. I used *228 to originally program the phone and now it does not work. I have found that ##UPDATE## will also update the phone, along with a few options in the settings.
I still wonder why *228 no longer works however, then prompter sounds like a verizon guy too.

Don't worry about deleting threads. Once you ask just leave it up there and edit with the answer you found. There's always things out there that may cross someone's mind at one time or another that your thread may answer.
