Again flash a custom rom. Make sure that your bootloader is till unlocked.
Your boot.img is the culprit..... Flash a custom kernel according to the rom you r using...

Hi,
In case anyone (like me) has issues installing the S1boot driver for your xperia, to be able to flash other firmware, here is the link :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=718060&d=1315877046
This driver will install itself after you run the executable file dpinst.exe after having extracted the archive.
With the driver you can use the flash tool (combined with your phone booted in flash mode (volume down + usb connect)) to flash other firmware on the phone.
P.S. i'm not talking about fastboot mode, but "flash mode" ;-)

i dont think you have to unlock the bootloader to flash your phone, you have to enable usb debugging in your phone ,settings>applications>development>usb debugging
pls correct me if im wrong
Hi,
As far as I know you "have" to unlock the bootloader before being able to flash custom firmware on the Phone.
I unlocked the bootloader via the sonyericsson site link :
http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/
I use 4pda.ru firmware+kernel from this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424121
Reason I dont use CM or MIUI is that I need a 100% functional phone (both corporate and private usage, that's why) . I encourage the development on CM and MIUI, don't get me wrong here
You can find more information about unlocking, rooting and flashing custom kernels and firmware on this XDA forum.

how about flashing through CWM recovery like the previous xperia? is it any different? because before the msm7227 and qsd8250 bootloader been unlocked, people use CWM recovery to flash rite?

You can setup CWM and flash ROM on unlocked device, but you can't flash kernel and baseband.
So current situation is: you can't flash CM or MIUI (which requires their own kernels) on unlocked device, but you can flash stock-based mods like repack4pda (which works with stock kernels).

Yes you need an unlocked bootloader to flash a custom kernel. But you can flash a custom kernel using fastboot tools and a command prompt or a terminal (Linux) too. You don't need flashtool
If the link for flashtool is not working, check the stickies in Dev section, flashtool should be there. It should still be downloadable

yes you should be having a unlocked bootloader for flashing a custom kernel however if you want to go back to stock ICS someday you will have to re-lock your bootloader and simply click on "Repair Phone" in SEUS.......

Coming from my HTC One X, the bootloader was "locked" in such a way that I had to flash the kernel in fastboot every time...
Does the kernel in the ROM zip files flash from the recovery on the Z2 if I flash the ROM from recovery?

i dont fully understand
you must unlock your bootloader to flash a kernel with xperias otherwise it will brick
when you flash a kernel it stays that way untill you flash another kernel
some stock based roms contain stock kernels so you will have to reflash a kernel which has a recovery
take note recovery is contained in custom kernels
So are you telling me that ROMs flashed on Locked bootloaders do not flash kernels?

Yes, that's correct. Locked bootloaders can only use stock kernel. To flash a custom kernel (i.e. non-stock), you need an unlock bootloader. So if the ROM is for locked bootloaders, then it's not flashing a custom kernel, so to speak.
Yesterday I have unlocked the bootloader of my redmi note 3 snapdragon version and then installed latest twrp.
I tried both nitrogen and RR Nougat roms.. Both wre giving bootloop for me. Flashed the latest firmware too.. Den too getting bootloop.
Then I flashed 6.0.1 RR rom, it worked fine .
What I have to update to get Nougat roms to wrk?

In twrp format /data..
Of make sure you backup everything in internal storage
I too experienced the same thing.
Try flashing the firmware by The Strix in the official LOS 14.1 thread.
Keep in mind, it wil Re Lock your bootloader and the rom will not boot at first, you gotta re lock it before you can do anything.

Firstly flash the firmware then the required Nougat rom, Reboot the system. The phone will not boot at first, from there go to Fastboot mode. Unlock the bootloader using mi unlock tool. After the unlocking completes, the phone will Reboot. Go to recovery. Flash the roms as usual.

Outdated Bootloader is the main cause ur some custom roms are not booting.
If u unofficially unlocked device. Then u should nt use firmware emmc zip. Emmc is what upgrades ur bootloader.
So only thing u can do is flash latest fastboot global rom.
And unlock device.
