If someone could help me, I'd be very very gracious. I have a Blu Vivo XL and I know this wont get answered over in that forum. The phone was randomly "Optimising Apps" as it does on boot up this morning, not too abnornal. It finnished about 130 apps, then when I saw "Android is starting...", the phone battery must have died (it died overnight, it was only plugged in for a minute before this). Now this isnt an old phone, so I don't think the charging port is broken, or the battery dead. But when I plug it in, no light indicating charge, and no charge. When I try to get into (stock) recovery, it wont do it and tells me to charge. I've tried a couple different chargers and wires, and the only other thing I can really tell you is that Windows 10 will actually play a sound when its plugged and unplugged. I have a linux distro installed on my computer if that could help in any way in troubleshooting, considering when I just tried to install the latest version of adb, my phone isn't recognized. I don't think the phone is broken, just "stuck". I'd really appreciate some assistance in any way. Possible Paypal cash for info leading to fixing my phone.

Hi,
i have a european htc flyer with LeeDroids actual custom rom (GB).
Today I drove my car, while charging it with a special 12V - Micro USB-Car Cable.
I tried google navigation and some other features and after that I chose HIBERNATE from the power-menu.
After half an hour I wanted to reactivate the device but everything I try - it simply wont start. display stays black, i tried every button (including the combination to bring it in the recovery mode). nothing works. the red light next to the power button is on (as if it is still loading).
has anyone an idea, what i can try to start the device, is it a brick? what about garantuee in this state? what should i do??
please help, thx
You need to give it time on the proper wall charger. Red indicates a completley depleted battery. I don't think you'll get what you need from a usb charging mode at this point. It could take some time to revive if you've push the battery far enough to deep discharge becasue the initial period will be used to recondition the battery at very low current.
...has been on the wall charger for hours - no effect
Can you plug it into the PC and see if it detects anything at all and if it does what is that. The other possibility is that you've somehow ended up in download mode.
I ended up in download mode on my original incredible. Not fun. See if it boots if you plug it into the pc. If so, I know how to fix it.
Sent from my HTC Flyer
nothing detected when plugged in via usb onto my pc
tried also adb shell, sais no connected device
think its really dead...
i have a flagship store in town, bring it in tomorrow -keep you posted, what the problem was/is
Let Lee know too if you haven't already just in case there is something in the code causing problems. That way he can pull it to keep other people safe.
Ok so I wanted to upgrade from Jellybean to KitKat today, with Bam-Rom.
I am preatty familiar with flashing roms. But I somehow got my phone to keep on rebooting. I wanted the battery to die, so I guesed I would leave it there drain and then replace the battery (I've got 3). After the phone "died" I replaced the battery and tried to open it. But nothing happens!!!
I've tried all of my 3 batteries, plugging in the cable, tried to boot into recovery and download mode. Nothing happens!
Is it possible that from the multyple reboots (about 15 min maybe) the CPU overheated and got burned?? Is there something I can do to check?
Any advice very much apreciated!!
Charge the battery for half an hour and try again
Done, nothing happens, pluging the cable dosent do anything. However I have an external charger so I know it is charging correctly. Also while I charge with cable nothing happens but the back of the phone get heated so I know the battery is charging that way too
I have opened the phone nothing seems to be burned or damaged what so ever
Replace motherboard. As to exactly what's dead on the board, unless you know how to work with electronics like that/how to diagnose problems (with gear like a multimeter), you're not going to be able to figure out exactly what died. And even if you could, it's irrelevant. You're still replacing the board if you want to fix it.
Hello,
I have Galaxy S2 and having some charging issue. Yesterday, when I plugged it in the wall charger, it didn't get charged (i.e. even the flash on battery was not coming up) and when I tried to restart the phone, it powered off but didn't switch on. I tried holding the power button to turn it on but it didn't. So, I pulled out the battery and left the cell for some time like 20 mins or so. After re-inserting the battery, it turned on but still was not getting charged. I tried to change the USB cable as well but nothing helped. I then tried to charge it via my Laptop it actually started the charging process but with error on Laptop saying "USB Device not recognized".
Today, I tried the wall charger again and here's I found something: when my phone is ON and I plug it in the wall charger it doesn't charge but as soon as I turn the phone OFF, my phone starts getting charged (Battery image comes on screen which usually comes when the phone is off). So, that's how I am charging my phone.
I went to the repair shop today, he said it's a charging port issue on which I have some doubts that why it is even charging in this way if it's a port issue. I just want to make sure if whatever he's saying can be somewhat true.
Can you please help me out? I would be really thankful to you.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Thank you!
PS: I tried to search about the port issues but I couldn't find anyone having this kind of issue so please!
The issues you have mentioned really do all point to a faulty USB board......it is common (with a faulty board) for some functionality to work while other functionality is lost. The part itself costs pocket change and is reasonably easy to DIY replace......
If you want to go down that path, check my profile for threads I've started.....you'll find a guide explaining exactly how to do it.
Just make sure to read and note the section on 'rev versions' it is VERY important to get the correct one......
My wife says I'm a phone geek....She's probably right
Hey guys,
unfortunately my 3-year old Razr died the other day. Battery has been an issue for the past few months where I had the battery completely drained 2 times but always got the device back to work. This time it's different though.
I shut down the Phone at aprox. 20% Battery to safe it from low charge. I have NEVER flashed a custom rom, the phone is purely stock. The phone wouldn't turn on the next time i tried. Initially , I had zero reaction. Then, I got at least the white LED when charging with the original adapter. Let it charge a few days. The white light would turn off after a few hours but the phone is still dead.
I replaced the battery with another (new) EB20 but still nothing. I bought a wall charger (1A) and still nothing. I even tried direct charging the battery for a few hours and still no effect. Also, every combination of Power+Volume buttons didnt work.
So i bought a factory cable but still didnt get any reaction. When hooked up to a computer via USB i have a "connecting" and "disconnecting" sound. Once the device was detected as OMAP 3340 but couldnt install it. The problem is that I dont even get the phone into fastboot mode.
On my research, I found these posts:

I think this will be my last try and option, but i have no experience whatsoever with flashing and I find the description very hard to understand and follow. Is there maybe someone who can explain step by step what there is to install/do and in what order? This would be awesome.
Greets,
razore
Hi,
I have HTC Amaze, which i rarely used. Last I used it in Jan, yesterday I charged it and while trying to turn it on, device hanged on HTC logo. I pulled the battery and tried again to switched on but same thing happened, pressed power button and volume down then tried to reboot it from boot loader but there was no activity.
Now battery has drained, trying to charge but there is no LED light. Connected through USB but giving qhsusb_dload error.
Although I am using smart phone from quite some time but I am a newbie with respect to trouble shooting.
Appreciate if someone can guide me as to how to get it back in working condition (for once) so that I can retrieve my data.
Regards
Try to charge the battery externally. I had an issue with another device and this is how I got it to fully boot. Do not waste too much $ on trying to get it working.
I got my universal charger from a local phone store in my hood which was dirt cheat. Try cleaning the usb port too as it may have dirt/dust covering the contacts. If the uni charger does not work, then return it or use to charge other device batteries.
