[Q] Need to install Apps as Non-market apps

I could install the apps to my HTC HD2 Android with CM7 before. After I flash my device to the AmeriCanAndroid AOSP HD2 GB2.3.7 CM7.2, I tried to reinstall the apps from my Market Place profile but it reported my device was not compatible to that apps. I directly download the apps and need to install the apps as non-Market apps? The apps work fine.
My question is why the apps report incompatible with my device? Not only one apps has this problem, what should I do to solve this?
Best regards,
Kelvin.
App Compatibility
Which apps have you tried re-installing?
Perhaps they aren't yet compatible with something updated in GB 2.3.7?
When they were running, what OS version was on your device?
For example the Adobe Reader. PasswordWallet, SyncMate (as I can't post the URL in the reply, apps is easily to search it out from Google)
One of the most popular instant messager in China, the QQ also reports Parse error (There is a problem parsing the package) and cannot be installed.
They claimed this firmware 2.3.7 which was optimized by non-official source.
Any suggestion that I can do the installation?
Best regards,
Kelvin.

[Q][ICS]Safe-to-Remove List of System Apps for LWW/MINI/XMP/ACTIVE

Anyone here can make/contribute a list for safe-to-remove apps/bloatwares in /system/app for ICS 4.0.4? Also, a list of apps that are unsafe to remove or are linked to phone's capabilities.
**Except Active and Mini coz no ICS update for them yet.
Similar to these threads:

I have already idea to add it to my tutorial, however I am really busy right now with other stuff, will add when have time.
hmmm.....there is safe way to remove bloatwares from our devices...just use flashtool to remove all bloatware....i never try it on ICS but i believe if it works on GB then it should works on ICS too....
Refer this :

If you cannot access above page, try cached version of site:

You will at least get an idea which apps can be removed
Remove them by titanium backup, because the I don't know whether that tool is compatible with ICS or not.
you can uninstall pretty much everything, leaving only the essential apps.
pay close attention to the ones with long names, as the names will prolly tell you is it safe to uninstall the app or not.
it's also useful to backup every app before you uninstall it if you get into problems.
i know this may not be very usefull, but i hope it helps in any way.
Cheers!

MIUI native firewall for blocking system apps WiFi access.

Hello there.
First of all I am not a developer or modder like many of you here in XDA. Though I like to mess with my phone to make it work the way it should. I am posting this thread asking for help.
Currently I am trying to get the native firewall in MIUI 8 to block system apps from using WiFi, without success.
I am following the instructions posted by a developer in MIUI forum to modify Security app: link http://en.miui.com/thread-531515-1-1.html (original developer Nicolas72)
There are some minor differences between the code in the original thread and the ones I am working with (due to different versions of the apk), but in general it's the same method. However, bootloop are the only results I got.
Steps I followed:
Deodex app, decompile, make changes to the smali code, recompile and put the apk back to the phone (set permissions, delete corresponding odex file and reboot the phone. And bootloop.
My phone Kenzo is currently running stock MIUI 8.2.4.0 Global Stable, Official unlock.
Can anyone help me to get this done?
Thank you in advance.
Sorry for my broken English
Seem like there is no one using stock MIUI here.
Restrict wifi usage for system apps on MiUi 9 or above.
Were you able to find any solution or work around?

Back to MIUI Rom after trying AOSP, Lineage, Dot OS- back to a lot of RAM usage :(

One question team- if people can download the MIUI ROM from the official MI website, why there is a need of installing this firmware?
Is it different?
Can you guyz also realease MIUI with PICO gapps installed
I installed MIUI back because of every other rom was so unstable. I used TWRP to get back to official MIUI. have magisks too
Is there a way to DEGRADE my current Gapps to PICO?
this is to save battery and performance
I tried all the versions of miui (except chinese and I´ll never try) like official of course, miuihellas, miui.it, miuisu, miuiam, miui,eu, developer version, from a chinese forum (红米5 Plus MIUI9 8.3.18开发 主题破解 快如闪电 人脸解锁 高级设置 小爱同学 精品必刷), greatslon, minovo, miuipro, globerom and finally multirom http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2278183&highlight=redmi+5+plus and this is the best version for me and it has like some of the mentioned roms a minimal gapps just to make Google runs. Play Store, Gboard and GoogleQuickSearch are the three apps for the user but you can uninstall two of them.

I too came back to MIUI after tinkering with some random ROM's , while it seems like u tried all the MIUI ROM's i do not get how you went for MultiRom instead of MiuiPro. MiuiPro has awesome tweaks and extra options built into the system which makes the Mi experience a bit flexible. Please elaborate on why you chose MultiRom and list a few of its exclusive features ( if it has some ).
I think you're looking for a lightweight option, something like Xiaomi.EU
They base their development on the Chinese beta, so you'll be having the newest freatures. They remove all the bloatware that's by default in the ROM and the set of google apps that the rom includes is really small, so the ram usage is lower and there's more free storage space.
I don't know what you're looking for, but if you really need to have just pico o micro gapps, your best choice is a custom rom. MIUI is not a light product.

Well, the last version I tried was 8.3.29, I see that now is on 8.4.19 maybe there´s some improvement but I didn´t see any special in this version before but advanced reboot, theme store is in chinese and nor on the version mentioned above, my second candidate is miu.hellas from greece and greatslon that has bigger letters in statusbar.
Maybe the main reason is the stability, performance, time to response, battery, I love customise and I have more than 100 themes (I never find one perfect) and I have 31GB free yet and the rom is fast despite of this and by last ram management; when I leave an activity and after 4 hours is there waiting for me, also is important for me to enlarge all, icons, letters, display (not so bigger) how it looks visually in aspect/ratio cause in some roms I changed display size and looks really weird or some object don´t match with the border, it looks like they are out of display.
It´s pretty hard to say a definitive "this is the best" cause it depends in the user preferences, I didn´t find any special tweak in any rom like on Epic rom (a great and really customized) that I used in my last Xiaomi but unfortunately they don´t develop for this device
Checked, MIui PRO is not yet available for my phone... or either i was unable to find it cuz every page was written in Russian.
Can anyone share a direct link for me to download and install the MIui PRO on my Redmi note 5 vince
How to revert back to stock miui(Indian) and relock the bootloader ?
To relock bootloader you don't need to flash a rom but if you want then flash the rom via MiFlash Tool (XiaoMiFlash) and choose the 3rd option to relock bootloader right down (clean all and lock)

Google Services Framework - how to use apps that need them without any GApps

Hey there.
I am not a novice to Android but by no means do I understand how it all works in the background. So I need a little help understanding something that to me is not so obvious.
I have a phone, Huawei P8 Lite, which I haven't installed any GApps after I flashed a LOS 14.1 rom.
I mostly use F-Droid apps on it but occasionally I install a random Playstore app using Aurora Store (fork of YALPS).
Now, while most stuff on F-Droid is pretty seamless to install&use, the same is not exactly true regarding Playstore stuff which usually mentions the need for Google Services Framework (GSF) if memory serves me well. And since I don't have GApps, I don't have "GSF".
I know that some apps that require "GSF" still work apparently fine without "GSF".
But there are some other apps that mention requiring "GSF" and that actually fail to work. Regarding these latter apps, is there any workaround to make these apps work without installing GApps?
I know there's a pico and nano version of GApps, but even those install stuff on my phone that I really would rather not have installed in there.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
