I learned there are some people get Nexus 9 entered APX/nvflash mode by accident. Do anyone know what are the exact steps to enter such mode? I need it to fix my Nexus 9, it cannot even boot into the bootloader. Any help will be highly appreciated!

Just wondering why you'd want to get in to apx mode? I have a nexus 9 in apx mode which I can't recover from, is there a way to flash anything in apx mode?

For tablets on the tegra (Shield MiPad, etc.) there is a utility nvflash. This utility is just designed to work with a chip in apx mode.
How did your tablet get into the apx mode?

I've read about nvflash but haven't had time to learn how to use it. Seems more complex than just adb and fastboot, above my skillset. I bought the tablet as parts/not working on eBay because I needed a replacement screen and I wanted to see what the issue with it was, see if I could fix it and sell it on. When I attached it to my laptop it read as APX Device..... so no idea how it came to be in this state. Is there a way to recover from it?

Hi Everyone,
my machine had HB 1.2 on it until yesterday. I wanted to update it to 1.3 and tried to get into recovery.
Now I did see the RCV logo on by screen but once I selected it I got stuck.
Next thing I wanted to get back to my normal boot and it also got stuck. Even APX no longer seems to work.
So does this mean it is really bricked? I've been searching through the net but can't find exactly this situation.
I'm afraid I don't know what to no next, apart from shipping it back to asus.

Do you have nvFlash enabled?? If so, you should be able to recover the device... you could get in touch with the AndroidRoot team if you have nvFlash and cannot easily enter APX mode...

Well I did downloaded nvFlash, before the machine froze I was able to get into APX mode however I never enabled nvFlash.
I was in fact trying to do that when it all broke down for me.

When you say "enabled" are you referring to successfully completing the nvflash process given by the AndroidRoot Team? Just for clarification.

Some more information. If I try to boot in APX mode (PWR + Vol UP) my pc does seem to detect some device.
In fact I see a Asus Transformer Prime APX interface in my Device manager.
However adb devices does not show me anything. I can't really say if that is ok or not.
And fastboot devices is also telling me there are no devices.
So both fastboot and nvflash seem to be stuck.

APX mode and ADB are different. The fact that you have APX showing up is a great sign. I can't help you through the nvflash process, but i know you're probably ok...
APX mode is not for use with adb or fastboot, that is why these applications will not see the device at all.
You will not be able to use nvflash/APX mode unless you have followed the instructions provided by AndroidRoot.Mobi BEFORE getting into this situation.
Enabling access to nvflash needs to be done before the device is bricked not after
Ok so i know i have big problem.
Any idea how i get out of this mess?
It seems i only have apx right now.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app

Hold on a sec.. Let's go back a few steps.
When you hold down volume down and power to boot it up you are getting the 4 icons. When you press volume down and go over to the usb icon and then press volume up you are still getting entering fastboot mode correct?
If you are what is now showing in device manager on your computer. Do you have any android or asus devices or do you have any icons with explanation marks on them ?
Hi to all.
I open this thread because I don't found a problem as mine.
I had a Asus Transformer Prime TF201 with unlocked bootloader and root and JELLY BEAN 4.1.1
When I tried to do a Wipe, it bricked.
Now it remain the screen with: "The device is UnLocked" "ASUS, inspiring Innovation,..." "Powered by NVIDIA TEGRA"
By pressing Vol down + Power, it do NOTHING, it doesn't enter in Recovery mode (Wipe,...)
It can Only enter in APX mode by pressing Vol Up + Power.
I downloaded WSG Unbricker, Fastboot, android SDK, Naked driver, ...
But nothing works, Only APX mode
Please help me!
Thanks a lot, macros
Alright, I had this same problem, i fixed it with Urkels Fresh Start
Pretty simple, download it, get the latest update from Asus, extract the blob into the same folder as Urkels and name it system.blob, then run fresh start. follow instructions as it gives them to you.

Link you provided, says via flastboot. OP claims to have APX only.
Only APX
Yes, I can connect only in APX mode.
When I use NVflash, fastboot, adb, ... they close themself automatically.
Nothing to do?

That thread is your last chance. If you cannot fix it using that method you are hard bricked but the fact you say you cannot stay in fastboot I doubt this will help you sorry.

Does anybody know a way to force an Intel Cloverview device into download (DnX - Download & execute) mode? I am wondering specifically for an Asus MeMo pad, but the device itself doesn't seem to provide a way for it. I'm wondering if the chipset has a dedicated method, software or hardware, for forcing a device into this mode.
Any help or guidance in the correct direction would be greatly appreciated.
Still haven't found a fix. Any ideas?

I'm unable to find any guides on how to root this device with A64 SoC. The guide here only works with intel cpu. I've heard fast boot is disabled for this version which is quite unfortunate...
Is there maybe a pin somewhere on the PCB to short to access fastboot or MASKROM?
Model is NX16A8116KPB

I tried to find firmware for this tablet for days, absolutely nothing. Not even in nextbook site resources, it's non-existent. Since my tablet is softbricked and selecting bootloader just reboots to forever stuck logo, I could attempt to flash firmware from other similar devices such as Q64 10.1". I'm able to put tablet into FEL or flash mode by using sd card, instructions here.
I Have the same one and unlocked the boot loader but cant find TWRP for it.
Be careful with FEL mode. I'm currently trying to bring my Ares 10a back2life, but I think I bricked it further when I wrote some bs to somewhere probably important. I used to get to the Android logo at least, now not. Still get FEL mode though.
I found out that when it "gets stuck" at the logo it actually is in fastboot. You should see it in Device Manager if im not mistaken.
Hi,
I've got a problem where my phone is stuck in bootloop and I cannot go into recovery mode. All I can get into is fastboot mode. I know there's a way to get into recovery from fastboot mode using ADB but I do not know what to do or what steps to follow as I really don't know much about modding phones apart from flashing a ROM that I wan't to use via recovery (which I assume even a ten year old would be able to do effortlessly after seeing it being done once or twice).
I am using the global 4/64 Redmi Note 4 running the latest version of Android Open Source Illusion Project.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Did you try combo key? Holding Power and Volume+ buttons?
If this doesn't works, you have to set up ADB bridge on your PC. Here is the guide: https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
When you do that, type the command via ADB while being in fastboot mode:
fastboot reboot recovery
This should take you into the recovery mode.
Any help please Im stuck in a boot loop and recovery and fastboot are inaccessible, so i cant send any commands? im forking on Mac OS but even ive installed a virtual PC to try some of the countless programs but no seams to work since the phone is not recognized.
