I just got my G5 coming from the legendary Htc m8
I just wanted to know is it possible to root the G5 or it still unrooted, do i need to unlock bootloader for that?
If i did it, i will lose any function? Except the warranty.

Yes, you need to unlock your bootloader if you want rooting this device. And yes, if you do that you will lose your waranty.

Europe and just PC Suite for me
Okay.
Note: changelog from 20B to 20D also said apps update only and it brought knock code. 20G might bring something new too, who knows

Hurhhurhrur, guys. Install it and report about if towel root/ioroot25 works or not. Also check how the auto brightness behaves.
Maybe some new ui too ?vwho knows..

Hi experts of the internet, recent i have update my Z3 Compact from KitKat to 5.0.2 Lollipop using Sony Flash Tools and XperiFirm_4.5_(by_Igor_Eisberg). But before that my tablet was rooted by flashing xda Advanced Stock kernel (TWRP) & root for unlocked bootloader.
So now after updating i have lost my root functions and Supersu binary, so im wondering if there's anyway to re-root my tablet? Perhaps a newer twrp recover? It would be great if anyone can guide me on this as im lost without my root capabilities.
Unlock bootloader first, then use flashboot to flash TWRP file, then install Preroot rom and SuperSU from TWRP.

Hi hagalah, so where do i find this preroot rom and supersu? Also which twrp file are we talking about? The same one provided on the thread Advanced Stock kernel (TWRP)? Or another twrp file?
If so i just unlock the bootloader, use flash tools to flash twrp and then install the preroot rom and supersu using the twrp recovery?
Sorry im still kinda new in rooting.

Does SGP 621 method of rooting applies the same to my SGP612 as well?

If ya downgrade for the same customization as yo originally had, you won't lose warranty, otherwise you will lose. But that's a stupid question cause if ya root your phone, you will lose warranty. But you can get it back by flashing your original firmware (with your original customization)

Unlock bootloader and flash another kernal or downgrade.
They're your only options.

Unfortunately i cant unlock the bootloader on my G5 therefore i cant install any custom recovery... but it's rootable through other methods like kingroot.. so i was wondering if it's possible to install twrp with flashify after rooting my device ?

I just received my redmi note 5(In India). When i tried to unlock the bootloader after adding mi account, it got unlocked immediately. just thought of sharing this!!

Maybe I'm lucky !! I just signed in with my mi account which got unlock permission 2 years ago... Just go to developer options, bind mi account in unlock status... reboot to fastboot through adb and then unlock using mi unlock tool latest version !!
Lucky us! I was also able to unlock instantly!

How old are your both mi accounts?
Maybe just newer are blocked to get instand unlock.

I don't know. My first Xiaomi phone was redmi 3s prime and I waited for unlocking one or two days. Later, on the same account Radmi Note 5 is unlocked immediately.
