sultanxda's cm13 for the oneplus x packs several features including his camera app with several manual controls like shutter speed etc..
so how do I get the camera app in other roms .... (generally flashable zips, ports etc)
note: I already tried slutan's camera hal but no results(manual controls)
please suggest some ways to use it in other roms.

A lot of his work in his ROM is his own personal touch. I believe it's just the snap dragon camera with his Hal. You can search here and find the flashable zip or apk.
Install Snapdragon Camera. There's a flashable ZIP somewhere on this forum. You won't get some of the features though (like 1440p front cam video recording) as these features are ROM dependent.

Which ROM are you using? It comes built in with all CM based ROMs.

Snap Camera HDR works with HAL perfectly and even has working manual focus, so I fully recommend that.

Fix Camera issues in Custom ROMs based on Lineage OS. (most of the issues fixed, and most stable as of now)
One more updated camera snap apk. This is better than included one as many features are working except panorama mode. Front cam focus, filters...Etc work fine. Still earlier posted Snapdragon camera is better, but this would be easy to replace stock camera instead of new app.
- download attached snap.apk file.
- clear data of your camera app. And force stop.
- use esexplorer/rootbrowser to Copy above file to /system/priv-app/snap/ folder (replace existing one)
- go to properties of file and change permissions to rw_r__r__
- reboot to recovery and wipe delvik/cache and reboot system.

Using IR in Nougat ROMs.
Here is the working tested solution to use IR of Le2 to control devices.
Install third party app from google play store called "ZaZa remote"
Select your drvice make n model and use remote. Or create your own remote using DIY feature with your device remote.
This app is much better than stock eui IR remote app...
Enjoy.
Edit: selinux mode needs to be enforcing to get IR worked.

I've installed that apk in aosip 5.9, enabled camera2 api, but high framerate and slow motion doesnt work. When I try to change slow motion settings the camera crashes. What to do so I can have slow motion?

Here is a flashable Snap zip that will enable all features.
It used to work in Nitrogen OS but I don't know whether it will work in AOSiP or not. Uninstall all camera apps and flash this zip in TWRP.
Report back whether it works or not.

It's a problem with CAF based ROMs. Video recording on Snap does not work. Same problem with AOSP-CAF by mistercheese.
If slow mo(120 fps) is what you want then you can try this:
blackberry cam
Moto Cam
Both made by -fluffy- for One Plus 3 but works for our device.
Cons of blackberry cam: Auto flash does not work, no HDR
Cons of Moto cam: Cannot save pics directly to SD card, touch to focus does not seem to work when using at low light.

Portrait mode doesnt work for obvious reasons

Oneplus 5 camera isn't meant to work on the OnePlus 3T, it's hardcoded to support dual camera!
I installed the apk before I found this thread so I didn't flash this actually, but Oneplus 5's camera works for me. (3T and nexus 6).
Almost all functions work except pro mode (manual).
If there is any hints to make pro mode works, I would be very appreciated. Thanks.
As regards photo quality, I think PA's cam is better but I like Oneplus's interface more.

Pro mode is working for me. All controls work fine except ISO mode: it only works in automatic mode.

I have almost same setup, except for kernel. I am on EX Kernel. Does Blu_spark allow you to disable touch boost that needs to be present for AKT kernel tweak to be fully functional ?

Originally I made this as an addon to my Pie builds for View 10, but since it works for other devices as well and I want to separate it from my development thread, I decided to post it here.
This is a HwCamera2 app ported from BKL-L04 stock 8.1 with the following additional fixes:
Fixed mode switching crash on P
Resolved gallery-related issues
Fixed saving photos in portrait mode
Everything works here including portrait, AI scene detection, dual camera.
Compatibility:
O vendor version confirmed to be working on 970, 960, 659.
The full and proper functionality can be guaranteed only for 970, but it should work just fine on everything else.
P vendor version is only tested on 970.
Installation:
It's a flashable ZIP, so you just need to flash it via custom recovery.
Download:
HwCamera2 for devices with O vendor (link is always up-to-date with the latest version)
HwCamera2 for devices with P vendor (link is always up-to-date with the latest version)
Tested on the P20 lite Photo mode works fine but the aperture mode don't work. Also sometimes when changing camera modes there is a slight delay and is makes the app shut down. Othere than that works fine and still better than the app that comes installed with the Pie roms. (Kirin 659)

This error cause restart of app when changing modes i guess. I don't see any other one.
But for me on phh v103 and Honor 9 everything works great. Shooting at 20mpx (so it can use both cams), recording at 4K, aperture mode, panorama etc.

When you are on a rom that's not stock emui , you don't have the great software and functionality of the camera. With this port you can have the same software and functionality from stock emui on any rom. Many people keep with stock emui for this reason. We have a great camera on our device. But you can't use it at it's full power on other roms. And that is a bit of a shame.

Working like a charm on P20 (EML-L29) with phhtreble 8.1
Thought there is an issue with the screen ratio. The black square with mode selection shouldn't be that big.

Ever since I have updated to pie,Any version of Gcam I install such as the ones from recommended on the threads for gcam on the themes,mods and apps section(both the newer thread by Ratanavv and the older one by cstark) continually crash and seldom work.
Sometimes,it even causes the stock camera app to crash
I was wondering what has been triggering this issue since it wasn't one when I was on Oreo
Would appreciate any help or advice since this is my only camera and I do use it on near-daily basis

I'm confused. If it's your "only" camera, that means you're not using stock firmware. Otherwise you would also have the LG camera. Yet you do mention stock camera. Do you mean LG camera or some custom ROM stock camera? Are you on custom ROM or not?
You also don't say which variant you have. May not make any difference here but usually basic information when asking for help with rooted V30 variants, some of which have been Frankensteined.
You did read the warning in post #1 if every Pie KDZ thread about not updating to Pie if you wish to run custom ROMS, right? Specifically about camera issues? The warning had a link to possible fixes (like Permissive mode), but that post also says not everything can be fixed. Have you tried those fixes?

not running a custom kernel but running a couple of magisk modules
however I don't think these are responsible for the issues since:
a)This was a non-issue on my oreo build with the same modules
b)They are none that affect the camera i.e modules like Youtube Vanced and Launcher mods

Yes I could but I much prefer the extra dynamic range and sharpness the Gcam gives,plus the front shooter is simply horrid on the stock cam

Re-install Pie KDZ via Refurbish mode.
If that doesn't work, then install Nougat KDZ via Partition DL mode, then go back to Pie KDZ.
Also look at whatever apps, mods you have.
Your issue may also be the way you installed Pie:

Did you do a clean install or dirty flash? Clean install will fix your issues, if you also follow the advice below.
Make sure you disable any Magisk and Xposed mods before flashing to Pie and do NOT re-enable them before double checking they are Pie compatible. Many such mods are OS-specific.
Is it possible that it's an actual hardware problem?

Ever since I have updated to pie,Any version of Gcam I install such as the ones from recommended on the threads for gcam on the themes,mods and apps section(both the newer thread by Ratanavv and the older one by cstark) continually crash and seldom work.
Sometimes,it even causes the stock camera app to crash
I was wondering what has been triggering this issue since it wasn't one when I was on Oreo
Would appreciate any help or advice since this is my only camera and I do use it on near-daily basis

Open the app and go to settings and make some manual adjustments such as: Camera video resolution, photo resolution, stabilization ... then close and open the app. I had problems with rom stock Pie but after this method here it worked normal.
