MWD59 to M6E69N - Asus ZenWatch 2

So My Watch prompted for an update Late yesterday, I backed up the update.zip, flashed a stock boot and recovery and sideloaded the update, worked.
Upload to Xda isnt working for me, so here is G-Drive.

Tried to sideload the update.zip but got the following:
loading: 'update.zip'
error: device '(null)' not found
Any suggestions?

I got the OTA update on my watch, but it failed to download several times. I did a factory reset, not thinking about it changing its ID, and now it no longer shows up. So, I'd be curious to know how you sideloaded this as well.

For what it is worth, my watch took the update, and now it reboots (often, can't say ALWAYS) when I put it on or take it off the charger. Besides that, don't know what else they changed. LoL

Have you tried doing a factory reset (unpairing)? Otherwise, it looks like I dodged a bullet.

I updated with the sideload and everything seems to be working fine. I had to remove my custom kernel and return to stock first. I also did a factory reset after applying the update. Thanks for uploading the update!

Same experience/process here.

Ok, so far so good. I updated mine tonight as well.
BTW, for those wondering how to do the side load, plug your watch into a computer and follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenwatch/general/guide-how-to-access-recovery-zenwatch-t3167623
to boot into recovery. Follow the on-screen prompts to swipe down and start an adb sideload session (apply update from ADB). THEN do "adb sideload update.zip"
As an aside, I was unable to pair my watch again until I did a factory reset through the watch's settings panel. For some reason, doing a factory reset from recovery didn't do the trick.

can someone upload twrpbackup of M6E69N ?
like this post MWD59
Thanks

Sorry for the drop then long post time, I dont have much support for this as all I did was yank it from my cache partition the moment the update was offered. Like the stories above,
first I reverted to a stock kernel by restoring an old boot from a twrp backup I had
(May have done system as well), copied the stock
downloaded a stock recovery and flashed it from twrp, and told twrp to reboot to recovery
set recovery to sideload update
"adb sideload update.zip"
the update fishined, I wiped cache for good measure and rebooted.
Smooth sailing every since.

Tablet not truning on

So, last night i was using my tablet and it started acting weird. youtube videos not loading, apps locking up, etc. So I decided to reboot my tab to resolve it. But now it wont boot. The boot animation stops part way through, and after a while it turns itself off.
My next thought was to go to recovery, but that doesnt work either. When I try to enter recovery it hangs at the twrp splash screen. At this point I dont know what to do
Any ideas?
What ROM were you on?

It sounds like a bad flash. Perhaps try using Odin to reflash a working recovery again? Then do a complete wipe and restore a backup to get working again.
If that doesn't work it sounds like its stock firmware time...

Damn. If you have flashed stock firmware you will have stock android recovery...however using it is rather scary because of the potential for the emmc brick bug. If you weren't able to wipe the device before flashing the stock firmware you're probably locking up on a bad driver or lib or something.
Do you have adb access to the device? Are you able to pull a Logcat?

ok, I got it working. I rebooted from that screen, did a factory reset in stock recovery, flashed cwm, and rebooted a few more times and I finally was able to get it booted up.

Phew!!!
Yeah man, factory resets in stock recovery are really scary. Good job getting back on a custom recovery. Make sure it is a newer recovery (CWM 6+) so you are safe when you run a FR.
Get re-rooted and back into a ROM with a safe kernel too and you're golden congrats!

[Q] Help Point of no return?

Well i think I have screwed up beyond repair.Yesterday I had sucessfully rooted my new s4 that came with VRUAMDK. just rooted no custom roms or anything. I then loaded Titanium backup and froze the verizon update app. Installed Goo Manager and made a nandroid backup with TWRP.
Today I froze the Weather widget app among others. Decided I wanted the weather widget back, so I defrosted it. It WOULD NOT come back. So I defrosted everything. Still no weather widget. Then I thought I would just unroot and go back to stock. Followed Dark Menace's Pm instructions and followed them to the letter. When I rebooted from using superSu to unroot. I noticed a notifcation that a software update was available, obviously it was since it was unfrozen. I did not click it. But a few seconds later my phone reboots into recovery mode with TWRP I thought that was very strange. Upon completion,and booting it said "Android is being updated" Well at that point I was sick! Sure enough now I'm at VRUAME7.
What can I do? probably nothing correct?
Oh and a few minutes after all this a popup said "software update failed to complete nothing was changed" or some-such. But I'm still at me7 and I have a unlocked padlock on bootup
Lesson learned don't screw with it if it aint broke!
Oh I STILL don't have my weather widget back.
I appreciate any assistance.
Thanks,
EDIT:
I'm not really broke about being on ME7 its just that I wish I could get rid of the padlock on boot and wipe all the backups (nandroid) just in case the phone dies. At this point it will just be a paperweight.
Would a wipe data/factory reset at least get me all the way onto me7? I seem to be stuck somewhere in between.
Here's where I'm at now

}
Fixed!
Flashe VRUAME7 stock restore --> booted up with padlock --> rebooted in recovery mode --> wipe cache --> booted without padlock! Now at ME7 with no update errors --> did factory reset to get rid of all the twrp and TiBU files. So at least it is working fine now.
Thanks for all the info on the site!

Can't Boot into TWRP

Hello all,
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I've got a AT&T M8. Last week I rooted it and converted it to a GPE M8. I am brand new to rooting, but found some videos on YouTube (Sakitech's videos). Everything worked perfectly, and in about 1.5 hours I had a GPE M8. The problem is that I cannot boot into TWRP in order to back-up the phone. When I try to boot into TWRP, I get this picture:

"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The phone then boots normally after a couple of minutes.
Any ideas of how I can get into TWRP?
Thanks.

I do believe that is the stock recovery image or image that is displayed when you dont have a recovery installed. Either way you didn't flash the TWRP recovery properly. Sorry, try again. Use the toolkit.
What I did with my M7 was download twrp on my PC and the transfer it to my ABD I had made with my various drivers and such. From there I put my phone into bootloader mode and then pressed the power button to get into fastboot. Plug in the data cable and then it will say fastbootusb. Then go to your folder on the PC and open up a command prompt window. CTL and right click of the mouse. Then I typed in "fastboot flash recover recovery.img". Make sure that you have renamed the twrp.img file to " recovery.img". That should get you into twrp recovery the next time you try. I hope I got that right for you.

Thanks for the responses.
I'm showing my newbie stripes here, but how do I flash the TWRP recovery again? Do I need to do anything special, or just go back to that particular step in the video that I used? Will it wipe my phone?
Also, quicksilver53, I apologize, but your post went way over my head. I'd need step by step directions for that.
Well, I installed TWRP again, and it seems to work now. I am currently making a backup. I discovered that installing TWRP does not wipe my phone. Phew ... didn't want to have to reinstall everything all.
Thanks for the responses.
Sorry for that. I'm happy you got it sorted out.

[Q] Fixing phone for friend.

Been a while since I have done this.
Sprint HTC EVO 4G / apx325c
Kept shutting off.
Now will not start OS/ROM
Has TWRP v2.8.02. (Which from what I have been reading, isn't for this phone so IDK what to do there.)
Trying to trouble shoot, says No OS Installed.
Tried using restore, says complete, reboot, no os installed.
I want to put a stock rom back on this phone. I am downloading one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Evo/ROMs#Stock_ROMs
OTA Update #14 5.07.651.6 2.15.00.01.15 N/A Gingerbread 2.3.5 18 February 2013 Yes
Is the TWRP verion correct or did someone install one that was for another phone and it just happen to work?
Hi,
I moved this to the correct section.
Im sorry I don't understand the difference between the two sections as I don't know much about the phone.

Downloaded the rom. Used install to flash it. Didn't work :/
First, the phone you're trying to fix is the HTC EVO 4G LTE (aka Jewel). The ROM's you're trying to flash are for the HTC EVO 4G (aka Supersonic). You need to find a ROM based on the new partition layout and flash it to the phone. Afterwards, I suggest making a backup to prevent such issues from happening again. Just take a look at either Development or Original Development for a ROM based off the NPL.
Thanks.
I am working with cpt throwback in correcting this issue in the IRC.
Once I get the correct TWRP installed back I will flash a rom. Don't know which yet.
So I found the rom I need. It's a stock rooted one from cpt throwbacks thread.
I updated TWRP to his latest version.
Attempting to flash rom and it says successful but throws error for mounting cache.
Have v2.8.1.0 of TWRP
Finish flash and says reboot, no os installed.
Is that version of TWRP for the new partition layout?
Post a link to the ROM you were trying to install.
The thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2639180
4.13.651.4_jewel_stock_rooted_Sense5_Android4.3_odex.zip
http://d-h.st/1c6
DL ROM and his latest TWRP from there
Last night I sat the phone down while it was in TWRP and left it. Came back a while later and started messing with it again and could mount cache. IDK what is going on with this dang thing.
Attempted to flash but get an error zip signiture verification failed so I went to sleep leaving the phone on in TWRP.
This morning I re-downloaded the ROM. Verified the MD5 and placed on phone. Attempted flash, it worked but seen error for not able to mount system.
Restarted the phone and it booted to the ROM I flashed and everything seems to be functioning on the phone.
Currently attempting to fetch recovery.log. http://pastebin.com/AYLTHpjT
phone seems to be having a problem, keeps turning off. Not shutting down but just OFF.
When plugged in USB it has this issue the most so I assume that the USB connector on the MB is shorting.
I will be returning this phone to its owner as it is working as far as I can get it to.
Thanks to everyone for their help.

[Q] Root OS 4.5.5 without the ability to download updates

Ok so i have a Fire HD tablet with dysfunctional WiFi. Right now its on the OS 4.5.5 and I'm trying to follow this guide to root it. So seeing as I can't update to developer preview or OS 5 through wifi, is it possible for me to flash a firmware using adb with the command adb sideload ?? I'm thinking about using either update-kindle-devpreview_ariel-20.5.2.2_user_522041550.bin from here or update-kindle-full_ariel-20.5.2.2_user_522053520.bin from here
You're in a bind. Adb sideload mode is only available in OS 5.x recovery (or TWRP, which requires root). Afaik the only way to get OS 5 is to have Amazon download it to your device. You could try putting the developer preview bin on the SD card and do "check for updates" in Settings, but I don't think it will work.

I see, well I'll try your suggestion and post back whether it works or not
Update:
Finally got around to testing out your suggestion. It worked! I placed update-kindle-devpreview_ariel-20.5.2.2_user_522041550.bin in "sdcard/" then I went into System Updates and I saw a screen similar to the attached picture. I just pressed Update and it updated successfully.
PS: I didn't remember to take a screenshot before I did the update so I put another update file in "sdcard/" after I updated then took the screenshot, but I was originally on the latest unrooted 4.5.5.
