Alright guys, while I patiently await the official ICS upgrade I have decided I wanted to play with some of the roms. I'm a little confused on the whole locked bootloader and stuff that the Razr has. I have the Razr Maxx and wanting to get some pointers on what to do. I want to try MIUI and another ICS build. Should I install Safestrap and then what should I do? I already have it rooted and on .181
Any help I appreciate it, I'm used to installing CWM and going that route but I haven't used a Moto Android in awhile.

I would definitely install safestrap and get some ROMs' and tweaks going.
To install a ROM follow this guide: http://droidrazrroot.com/droid-razr-hacks/how-to-install-rom-on-rooted-droid-razr/
For ROMs' I would recommend Gummy and Eclipse. Eclipse for a more stock Gingerbread experience with better battery life and performance. Gummy for an ICS feel with lots of features.
Having a locked bootloader means that we can't flash custom kernels and radios until a bypass is found or Motorola unlocks them for us.
Hope I helped!

Ya I figured out the kernels and radios from the bootloader but I also wanted to make sure I don't fubar my upgrade path and be able to upgrade on official ICS when it drops. I know to stay away from some of the leaks from reading what people are saying on here and other forums.
Also if I have this safestrapped, flash a rom and then want to go back to stock the way I have it laid out I can just relock or whatever it is in recovery and it will boot into stock instead of the custom rom?

Yes, if you toggle safe system when your in the safe system/system you have the custom ROM installed on all your data from your original ROm will be restored. Ask questions if you're confused, nobody likes a data wiped phone.
Also, I know this is probably a redundant comment, but be SURE to make a nandroid backup of your stock rom, just so in case things go pear-shaped you can always reflash back to before the problem.
Be warned though that many of the ICS builds currently do have some bugs...
Most notable is the lack of hardware acceleration, which means no Flash or embedded videos until the official ICS is released...Not a hugely big deal for me, but some find this crucial.
I have been using J.Y.Daddy's port of CM9 for GSM and I love it. Very good looking rom, excellent features and intuitive organisation. Overall, 10/10. Definately would bang.
But yeah, nandroid backup is key. Just keep it on a USB stick nearby if you have little space on you SD.
Have a ball with custom roms man! It's what makes Android the best OS in my opinion.

Change to CM11.0 from TWRP 2.2.2.0+ Asus Official Rom (10.4.2.15)
Hi
I have been reading all pages, but I am quite confuse. I have got Asus TF201 with TWRP 2.2.2.0+ www_epad 10.4.2.15 and I don´t remember how I do It, it was years ago. I would like change to CM 11.O, but I have a lot of doubts.
- Do I have to make a backup? how?
- I suposse I have to update to Voyager2ks TWRP? or Which? CWM? How?
- And then...
Thanks so much
Issue loading OS
I installed this ROM successfully it seems using CWM Recovery. However, after reboot, I'm stuck at the initial "ASUS" splash screen where it says "The Device is Unlocked". It doesn't seem like the device is actually loading the OS properly. I'm using the stock ASUS bootloader version 1.0 or something similar. Do I need a different bootloader to make this work?
TF201 Transformer Prime CM12
Hi. I currently own a TF201 with stock rom, never flashed anything into. I'm reading a lot on the forum and i know cm12 is available for tf301 (in their page). I also read about flashing a file to make tf201 in a tf301 like device.
I was excited about flashing a new ROM into my old, but still usable TF201, but all the instructions to flash that i find are a bit confuse, because everyone says their thing, sometimes with no points in common, and i'm really getting confuse about the right way to prepare and flash a rom into the tablet. So:
1- Should i wait a bit more for CM12 on TF201 unofficially (or offically)...
2- How do you advise me on flashing any good ROM that will give more life to my old device? (CM11.xxx.xxx.xxx)
3- The big part of unnoficial ROMs for TF201 are buggy (True/False)
Also, if you could advise me on a particular ROM...
Sorry all this questions,
Tiago
If waiting for cm12 takes time. Take a look for the Zombi Pop Rom Based on Android 5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-prime/development/rom-t3016797
My prime is still stock and on jb. I have unlocked it and installed twrp 2.2.2.1 will this install this rom? I saw people post it only works with certain recoveries but this was the only version I could find that didn't hang at the 4 icon screen saying booting recovery kernel.

1. Whether you have 3 or 4 icons is not a question of recovery but of bootloader. Check ver. and post.
2. If you see 4 icons, then you are on 4.1.1 (JB) or even ICS bootloader and should update flashing newest stock rom.
3. TWRP 2.2.2.1 is from the stoneage. As of now we are at ver. 2.8.5.0 (available for tf201 but only with preparations). Last elaborate TWRP for tf201 is @ne0zone75's here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772093 but only if you are already at JB (4.2.1) bootloader.
Problem with initial boot after installing CM11 for ASUS TF201
Hi,
I've a problem after installing the CM 11 Sep 14 version for ASUS TF201. It seems to be struck in the cyanogenmod bot page, with the arrow going in circle. I went to sleep, and when I woke up, it is still stuck in that page. I've tried Aug 14 release, and Jul 14 release, and still the same problem.
Can anyone help?

Hi, I just recently updated my Prime to CM11 Sep 14 version, and I followed the instruction stated in this blog.
d3-media.blogspot.sg/2014/08/upgrading-asus-prime-tf201-to-android.html
One thing to note is to remember to perform a factory reset and cache wipe using the CWM recovery, this step is missing in the blog. U need to do this before or after (does not matter) u flash the new ROM. If not, u will find that the initial boot after installation will get stuck at the cyanogen bot screen with arrow going in circle. Do note that it will take about 4-5mins or so to boot if everything is successful.
Another thing to note is u might encounter some adb errors when u are performing the rooting process, it is ok. U can download the check root apps in Google Play to check if the root is successful. If it is not successfully, u can root again. I repeated a couple of times before the Prime is rooted.
As for CM12 ROM, I tried installing using the CWM recovery for CM11 ROM, and it will not boot (It get stuck at the ASUS screen). So I guess u need the recovery provided by the developer for CM12 in the link he provided to flash the ROM. I've not tried it yet.
Anyway, CM11 is a big improvement from the ASUS stock ROM. U can set the CPU performance to full speed, and the whole tablet is very responsive.
Goodluck in flashing!!!

Thanks, I read it in another post, and try factory reset and wipe the cache using the recovery, and everything is working.

KatKiss 5.1 R3 is what you will want for a stablity for TF201
Hi Demifalcon,
If you still are seeking for a stable either a Lollipop or KitKat Custom ROms,
I can highly recommend Katkiss 5.1 R3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-prime/development/rom-katkiss-5-1-tf201-22-t3080892.
The only thing as described by the author is you have to format in TWRP before you
install this new ROM otherwise your Google Play Store will not update or install
any apps. Believe me, its true. I came from using Zombi-Pop 5.1 Beta 1 and Google
Play Store misbehaved.
Another this is you must backup all your favorite app using Titanium Backup
and restore back to your new ROM.
I also tried out flashing PurePerformance X-cm and now its very fast and stable.
You can search out this thread within XDA-Developers forum. Its a small mod meant
for most Android Devices.
Hope the above advise helps Demifalcon
Cheer mate

Hi guys, this is the latest Lollipop ROM rolled out by LG for the international G Pad 8.3.
It's the corean update but works just fine with mine and i hope also with your.
INFO:
1- You can flash it with the TWRP like every Rom out here, i used the bumped TWRP in the original devs thread;
2- The kernel is stock, i only set selinux to permissive because in my works for the G3 i've seen that it's the only way to avoid permission issues;
3- it's bumped so doesn't need nothing special, just flash it in TWRP like i said above;
4- You can dirty flash over the stock 4.4.2 ROM, i made it and had no issues at all.
5- If you are asking why you should flash this instead of the kdz, the answer is that with the "kdz way" you will upload your Bootloader too and you will lost the possibility to flash the twrp and any custom kernel since the new BL patch the exploit used by Bump.

The rom is unrooted, to root it just flash this in recovery:

Thanks very much once again ?
Flashed this and everything seems ok so far. Supersu didnt work for me in the first flash with ROM, but when i got back into recovery the second flash worked. Root seems to be pretty strong thus far. I am going to run this for the next few days and see how stock Lollipop is working. Thanks again for this!
Ran for a couple minutes and noticed vibration doesn't work. Do I need to enable something? Pretty solid so far!
Edit: You have to reboot for vibration
Looking great for me so far ,no issues, though I have a lot of setting up to do still ?
Hello,
Very good rom
bye bye kit kat and external sd storage problems
Thank you very much for this rom
Fantastic! Thanks for the work and sharing.
Just flashed it dirty and seems to work flawless.
Major improvements over 4.4 are the "recents apps" button and being able to switch user without having to use hard power button.
Thank you for sharing this!
Can anybody answer me what's with battery, is it worse than on KitKat? And is gamma fixed?
Thank you one again! Cheers!
Sweet! Downloading right now, thank you!!

I did. Full wipe worked fine.
Only issue I've noticed so far is the lockscreen weather doesn't seem to work.
I set it up as you would with the g3 but no luck.
Anyone managed to get it working?
For reference, I started with a completely wiped /formated tablet.
Hey dev, when you say 'dirt flash' you mean I have to wipe nothing? Just like if it is an OTA? Do I lose something?
rom is running very smooth so far without any problems, living in germany. much faster as KK relase.
thank you dev!
Skin yoy are awsome!
Glad to see you here to.. Lg g3 owner mate congrats and keep doing your thing.... Thanks once again you great developer!!!!

there's also eclipse and kitpop if you want more of a stock android look and feel
Dev work on Eclpise has been stopped with no sign of it starting up again.
npJohnson is busy with the bootloader stuff, so there IS activity with kitpop, but very little. You want him to work on the bootloader, because then you can get cm 12.1 and whatnot.
That said, bot are rock solid ROMs with good battery life from my experience.
Hello everyone,
I have now been using Cyanogenmod 13.0-2016127 for awhile and I need something simpler. This ROM is full of bugs and I really just want something that works.
I am looking for a stripped-down (no bloatware, optimization tweaks would be a plus) stock Kitkat 4.4.4 ROM for the Moto E (1st generation). I think it's the XT-1021, it only has one SIM card slot.
I found this page, but it's only for the XT-1022
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e/development/flashable-zip-stock-deodexed-rom-moto-e-t2823368
I have been poking around but so far all I've found is SlimKat 4.4.4, another version of cyanogenmod, and clockworkmod. I don't know how stable any of these are and I'm not interested at all in any custom ROMs at this point. All I want is a slimmed down stock ROM. Can anybody please help me find one, if it is out there?
Alternatively, a regular old vanilla stock ROM would be acceptable if no stripped-down versions are available. I haven't been able to find this either, I can only find it for the XT-1022!
Thank you.

Thank you very much satanas. I will try installing that 4.4.4 ROM for US retail XT-1023 tonight and I will post the results.
I was trying a cyanogenmod 4.4.4 for the past few days, but mobile data is completely disabled and it cannot use a SD for internal storage so those are two major problems.
Here's a couple more simple questions.
1. Is there a stripped-down version of the stock ROMs that satanas just linked to? That would be awesome!
2. Is there anyway to relock my boot loader and restore my warranty after I reinstall a stock 4.4.4 ROM?
Thank you all!

Seems to be some tutorials but never tested...by the way, keep in mind that Motorola already knows your phone is unlocked !!! They gave you the code to do so !!!
