Bricked phone - T-Mobile LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My cousin's V10 decided it was gonna commit suicide. He was texting on it a couple of weeks back when it vibrated and shut off and now will not get past the LG logo. I was able to get into fastboot, but was made aware that LG has blocked the fastboot commands from being used. He sent the phone off for a warranty fix but it was denied because it has a tiny spiderweb crack on the screen (which has absolutely nothing to do with the phone not working as it has been like that for months). I was also able to boot to recovery but the phone will not let me select yes on the final step of a factory reset. Is there anything that can be done to this phone to bring it back to life??

Was it rooted?

Nope, 100% stock. Not unlocked nor was USB debugging on either :/

Mine just did this as well. 100% stock. I tried to do Factory Reset and it failed. I've got a new phone already en route. Secretly hoping that I can get it working via hacking, but won't bother if the experts on the forum say otherwise.

Try installing factory image with lg bridge

I tried, but bridge would not see the phone. Do I need to be in recovery or fastboot mode for it see it??

Download mode

Yeah I finally got it to see the phone and now it's going through the process of updating. Hopefully it will work.

It went through the whole process and now is stuck at the LG logo again and won't budge. :/

It probably isnt fixable then

My Acro S won't turn on

My Acro S is running a stock 6.1.A.2.45 with CWM, rooted an bootloader unlocked, it has been working fine with this firmware for almost 2 weeks, today out of nowhere i switch the phone off for a reboot and it refuses to come on, it can go into fastboot and and flashboot however it does not power on, it's been plugged in the charger for almost an hour but it dosen't show any sign of life, no led blinking no Sony logo, nothing and when i try to force reboot by holding up and power off it just gives a little vibration and nothing happens, please help! sending back to the service center is not an option as in my country Sony service is crap as it's done through a third party company that hire retards exclusively, not to mention that they will rip me off as i got my phone from another country.
Does it enter CWM? If nothing works Flash the same ROM using flashtool

Nothing mate, no led, no log, no nothing as i said it just vibrate when i force reboot and can go into flash/fastboot mode, anyway the battery was almost dead when i turned it off to reboot and now i am not sure if it's charging to begin with hence why i am too scared to flash it and risk permanent bricking, do you think i should leave it for a while on the charger first?
Also would it be too much if i ask for a link to the stock rom as the one i had is not on this pc anymore?
Yeah you should leave it for charging for an hour or two.
I'm not too sure about the link. Browse through the dev section you'll find one

Okay thanks,
Regarding the ftf i don't think that it has been posted before, the one on my phone is russian and i don't recall where i got it from, i found another that's Malaysian however i really need the international version this time, do you think i should start a thread requesting it?
Okay i fixed it however the flashing didn't work and until now for the life of me i am trying to figure out what happened, anyway here is what happened and how i got it back working, maybe it will help someone in the future.
1.The first 2 flashing attempts failed without any explanation in the log, i then tried to re-install the flashtools drivers and went for a 3rd attempt, this one did not fail although it did not succeed either it remained stuck on retrieving device information.
2.I went to Sony software update standalone software, it requested from me to put the device into flash mode, i did but then it refused to update as my device had modified software, then i went to the pc companion and made an attempt to fix the device but of course i got the infamous server busy error.
3.My last hope was to go into fastboot mode and attempt to flash back the stock kernel.sin, that did the trick, the phone went back up and as i suspected it wasn't charging during the incident as the battery was down to 1% and it turned off as soon as it went on, it's now turned on and charging without any issues however i am really curious to find out what happened, i will charge the phone back to 100% then i will flash back the previous kernel that caused the issue,
For reference both kernels are found in this thread:

Good that its working now

It happened now again after i tried to boot into recovery using the xparts app, i had to reflash the kernel to unstuck it and this time i flashed the old kernel that had CWM, the one that initially got stuck and everything is back to normal, but i am really curious to know what's wrong.
Did you ever find out what was wrong with it? My phone won't charge no matter what I do to it. Kernels, stock ftfs, all custom roms I could find. I'm thinking about replacing the battery cause I can't keep the phone on for more than a few seconds....

You can Hard reset with press vol-, home and power at time
or put on the USB cab then press vol+ and power button to start S/W Update , in the Computer using KDZ update to reinstall SoftWare for LG L9
I was thinking about trying to root the phone but seems like I might mess it up. A lot of steps.

You've not even tried and your phone is bootlooped? How do you it will clear booting after a hard reset, have you tried? Does it bootloop again once youve restored your apps?
No I haven't done anything to the phone conceive gotten it back in January. I am running jellybean tho. For two straight days if I restarted my phone after the hard 're s st it would stick either on the t-mobile 4g screen or load all the way up and the screen would switch from" android is updating" "loading apps" to my home screen. But phone would finish. I Let it sit for two hours like that. And nothing happened so I just hard reset it and it has worked fine since then. And I have restarted it since then. I was thinking it was my dad's cheap car charger doing it?..

bricked phone!!?!?!

ok so, sometime last week i grabbed my phone after my girlfriend was on it. (common) unlocked it, and the screen froze. i didnt think anything of it. mostly bc it has never happened. so i took the battery out and tried to turn it back on... well it stays on the LG LOGO for about 5-10 minutes then goes to a white screen and it says "ENCRYPTING" with a bar below it and below that it says "reset phone" it does nothing. i have had it on the charger trying to figure out what is wrong, nothing works, no soft reset, no hard reset. nothing. and i cant find any information on this anywhere.?!?!?!? am i the only one that this is happening to??? ATTENTION THE PHONE IS STOCK!

You have to flash the stock ROM again. Use the Lelus offline flash method and you should bee fine.

Obvious question but is the battery charged? Does it charge when switched off?
ewalkol uniting
Okey just to make things clear:
Yes it is charged.
If i start it normaly, without pressing any Buttons except to power button i get a bootloop is vibrating periodicly and i see my bootscreen forever.
If I want to get in recovery mode or download mode (volume up/down+home+power) it Shows me the Samsung sIII Screen and turns off again.
If u know anyone with a usb jig...that mite helo u get into download mode

If it worked fine before the screen was broken then either something else was damaged at the same time or the repair process has added something new.
If you can't get it into download mode then not a lot you can do, usb jig or repair clip might work -but only if the motherboard is undamaged..

It got wet about 1/4 of second and OS went crazy. Then I pull out the battery, dried the parts and I placed the phone and parts in a bag full with uncooked rice for a week; after that I placed it in another bag with silica gel packets for another week. Then, I started the phone but it was stuck in an endless boot and reboot cycle. I'm able to do a factory reset but nothing happends, I can enter to "download mode", with LG Drivers 4.2, my PC recognizes the phone and LGUP tool, with aproppiate DLL, does the same. Still, I'm unable to install STOCK Firmware LS676ZV3_00.tot or LS676ZV5_06.tot (both were found in XDA-Developers) using LGUP, I got an error that says: "...Secure device but insecure image". If any detail is missing, please tell me. I'm trying to save my phone so hard because here, in Cuba, is very hard to buy a phone because they are spensive and this is my third phone (previous phones were stolen and missed). I'll be happier with any kind of help.
