So I've tried several versions of Radon and Agni as well as several custom roms and I can't seem to get consistent double tap 2 wake or sweep gestures. I have tried using Kernel Adiutor, Ex Kernel Manager and flar2 wake gestures app. I've verified that the gestures are enabled on each boot. Sometimes it will work but most of the time it doesn't. I checked my hardware and my kenzo has a focaltech touchscreen with a tianma panel. Any tips, help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
Update: so i read on the wake gestures app forum here on xda to not have any other apps control the wake gestures. After turning them off in kernel adiutor and just using the wake gestures app everything seems to be working as intended.
Are you setting dt2w or sweep to wake on full or half? It only worked on half for mine.

Use sweep up to wake, it works consistently, doesnt' interfere with phone calls and is much less likely to accidentally wake up the phone in your pocket.
Double tap is the worst gesture imaginable.
I have them both set and even sweep is inconsistent

Hey guys, welcome to this thread. I know there are many fans of franco.Kernel and many fans of wake gestures. This combines the best of both.
This kernel is simply a modified version of the official franco.kernel with added wake gestures developed by flar2
Features:
- Always sourced from the latest franco kernel build
- Only added feature is wake gestures
Downloads:
- Boot IMG: http://1drv.ms/1ExnFf5
Installation:
- Flash in TWRP (using the img flash option)
- Flash Manually: fastboot flash boot boot.img

Enjoy!
Latest Version Base: r28
--
Manual Values:
Sweep2wake:
disable = 0
sweep right = 1
sweep left = 2
sweep up = 4
sweep down = 8
Add them together. For example, to enable sweep2wake in every direction:
echo 15 > /sys/android_touch/sweep2wake
Sweep2sleep:
disable = 0
sweep right = 1
sweep left = 2
sweep left or right = 3
eg: enable sweep2sleep left
echo 2 > /sys/android_touch/sweep2sleep
Doubletap2wake:
enable = 1
disable = 0
eg: enable doubletap2wake:
echo 1 > /sys/android_touch/doubletap2wake
For the noob, what is wake gestures? Double tap to wake is considered a wake gesture?
Nice job bro

I added it to the OP, but it is stock double tap to wake, sweep2wake, sweep2sleep, and flar2's DT2W

Sweep 2 wake, sweep 2 sleep and double tap to wake
What is the chance of getting Multirom compatability.
Would you be willing to make a zip? Not to be a pain in the a**!

I can look into it, but if you are on the latest TWRP you can flash .img files now. So you should be all good to go

Don't ask for features that aren't finished
Cannot get sweep to sleep working and tried kernel adiuator but that does not work.
What needs to be done to activate it?

I'm using the elementalx app to set wake gestures and it is working fine. Let me try kernel adiuator real quick

my bad. Had no idea. Works great on the kernel I'm using curently. Sorry about that.
Excellent! Is the kernel compatible with flar2's Wake Gestures implementation?
Sorry, I thought you meant the regular wake gestures. I would have to look into it for you.

Just installed the apk and I can confirm it is working :highfive:
Thanks! flar2's Wake Gestures implementation and app would be fantastic. Swiping to activate the flashlight is pretty convenient possibility with flar2's implementation.
EDIT: I'll give it a shot!

I had never tried it, but it is pretty sweet! I like how you can set shortcuts for the gesture from the app.
flar2's Wake Gestures seems to work perfectly. On previous ROMs, I did have issues of ear touches while in calls, so I did have to install flar2's S2W Phone Call Disabler and that seemed to solve the problem.
Right now, I'm pretty happy running stock 5.1 rooted with FK r21, and the Wake Gestures support was a nice addition to keep me satisfied until custom ROMs iron out things out with 5.1. Great work!

Glad to hear it! And thanks for pointing me to his app.
Hi could you please make a flashable zip of this ? The reason I'm asking is that I have installed Rastapop (based on Android 5.1) as a secondary ROm and I would prefer to flash a kernel there. I've tried Flashify, but all it does is it flashes boot.img to the primaryROM thus making me lose MULTIROM access. Thanks
Is it possible to add in this device?
Rom/Kernel?
Coming from a LG, I really like the phone (and need the dual sim), but I drive a lot and I it's so useful de double tap to wake/sleep
Here is what I found out so far:
The cheap Touchscreen doesn't support it apparently.
Kernel isn't possible as long as Xiaomi don't release the Kernel Source.

You can use Gravity Screen in Google Playstore and use the proximity sensor to wake it up. Tap one or double tap if you want on proximity sensor to the right of the camera to wake it up.
My settings:
Turn SCREEN ON by Proximity ON
Headphone Support ON
Notification ON
Low Priority ON
Start at Boot ON
All other is OFF

Thanks a lot! It seems it works!
how?????
you can't
This seemingly small embellishment is just so darn useful it would be great if Xioami got around to incorporating it. I was using my old LG phone the other day to keep track of time while working on a dirty project, and the ability to double-tap to wake the screen with whatever portion of my fingers/knuckles which were clean at the moment was a real lifesaver. I forgot how truly useful it is, and I definitely miss it on the RN2!
try this en.miui.com/thread-125331-1-1 worked for me

Thanks, socolino, for the suggestion about the Knockr app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tecnology.angs.knockr). I've taken a look, and, of course, while this app does its best to mimic DT2W, it is pretty much a kludge. It basically just turns the screen black to simulate it being shut off, but it actually keeps the phone awake. So this means a massive hit on battery life. And there is other collateral, too, because the phone doesn't actually go to sleep. For example, the notification LED does not get activated because the phone is not actually sleeping. And supposedly the power button doesn't turn the screen on as expected (i.e. get rid of the black mask).
Anyway, thanks again for the suggestion.
this feature is disabled in kernel, unless we will have source codes or xiaomi will anable this feature, there will be no dt2w

As a workaround, I use the WakeUp Touch L Free app. With the correct settings, it wakes the screen virtually every time by double tapping the proximity sensor. I haven't noticed any battery drain using it. Here are screenshots of the WakeUp Touch settings I use. Another couple of settings that are useful to modify: long press on WakeUp Touch in Notifications & assign it High Priority; lock WakeUp Touch in Recent Apps by dragging it down.
To turn the screen off via double tap, I use the Screen Off and Lock app in conjunction with Apex Launcher's double tap gesture [Nova & other launchers also have this gesture].
Hello everybody,
i have a problem with fingerprint and double tap to wake.
i get the problem with stock rom and custom rom (eragon 1.5 now).
i lock my P9000 via button on the right side.
directly after that i can unlock my phone via fingerprint and i can wake up via double tap.
after about 5 mins the fingerprint sensor no longer responds if i put my finger on it.
double tap to wake works only at second or third time.
so i have to unlock my phone via button and pincode -> lock via button on right side -> now i can use fingerprint and double tap to wake.
after 5 min same problem.
does anybody have the same problem? is there a special deep sleep mode or something like that?
Thanks in advance!
(sorry for bad english)
okay double tap to wake works. just need 2-4 seconds to wake up.
but i still have the problem with fingerprint
Yeah I have noticed mine does the same., after 5 mins or thereafter it's just doesn't seem to respond to fingerprint (which is still temperamental anyway) and double tap takes maybe 3-4 times
These are both hit and miss on mine too, shame for a mid range device its pretty close.

yep. if you change it to enforcing it should work (delete/etc/init.d/07permissive script) setenforce0

dont know where "setenforce0" option @ stock rom is.
with eragon 1.5 i renamed 07permissive script (sets setenforce 0) in 07permissive_old and it works very well for me.
now im very happy with my p9000

Cheers for the tip man
So as all you may know, most of the new custom ROMs come with fingerprint navigation gestures, which sometimes don't make sense because the soft keys are already enabled.
Sometimes this is annoying because we touch the fingerprint sensor accidentally, or want to set up another gestures, like turning screen off by long-pressing the sensor.
I noticed this annoying thing on LineageOS, Pixel Experience, AOKP and RessurectionRemix.
So how can we set another gestures? If it's by generic.kl (which i tried unsuccesfully), what do we have to do?
Is there an app that can control it?
Thank you all
