So, I accidentally deleted my OS through TWRP recovery while I was trying to clear the cache. Now the device is stuck at the Xperia logo and I can't even access TWRP anymore. I can't get flashtool to recognize my device either. I don't know what to do. Is my device doomed? Any help would be really appreciated.

I also deleted everything on my Z2 a couple of weeks ago and thought it was dead, but my PC detected my Z2 in fastboot immediately.
Check your drivers and try with a different USB cable; maybe other PC?...
Enter fastboot mode and then flash a kernel with TWRP.
brother,
For locked bootloaders the TWRP is a part of the ROM. never do a wipe system in TWRP with Locked bootloader.
but don't worry and be sure your device isn't dead at all. just follow the below steps in the link in order to use flashtool and flash your phone, I recomend using the old following version of flashtool http://www.flashtool.net/downloads_windows_prev.php

Hi everyone,
I just bought a brand new Z Ultra C6806. I plugged it into my computer, installed the My Companion software, and then proceeded to root the device via the Chinese root, which seemed to work just fine. I then tried to unlock the bootloader with Flash Tool, but couldn't get Flash Tool to recognize my device. It kept on saying that I needed to install drivers. I'm doing this on a windows computer, and I already navigated to the drivers folder and installed the z ultra drivers.
I then got fed up with that and saw the thread that let you flash a recovery with a locked bootloader. So I followed those instructions and had a working CWM and TWRP. Except then I wiped data and system and flashed the CarbonRom custom rom, and now my phone won't boot at all.
I'm hopeful that everything is not lost since when I hold volume up and plug my phone into my computer I see a blue LED, which I have gathered means that it is successfully still entering fastboot mode?
How do I get Flash Tool to recognize my device? And is it possible to unlock the C6806 bootloader or have I been deeply mistaken all along?
Thanks for any help
[HOW-TO] Unbrick your XZU
You can use method A. Read carefully how to install the drivers and do not use a USB 3.0 port.

so what you've done is to try and flash a ROM with a locked bootloader. You've found out that it wont....
You just need to use 'flashtool' and flash a FTF file.
But like you said before you'll need to ensure drivers are installed properly. flashtool will need to say:
'device connected in fastboot mode' or
'device detected in flash mode'
Download the latest version of flashtool. Then when you select the type of device, you can select Xperia Z Ultra.
and make sure that ADB is installed (windows will detect new device has been plugged in, and if it wont install drivers, you will need to tell it where to find them)

Reinstalled flashtool drivers for z ultra and flashmode and fastboot, pointed my windows drivers interface to the driver file I downloaded from the sony unlock bootloader website and still didn't get anything on my laptop.
Did the exact same things on my desktop and everything is working fine now, flashtool recognized my device, flashed a Sony FTF, unlocked bootloader successfully, playing with CM now.
Still not sure why this is the case, but alls well that ends well I suppose, thanks.
install flashtools driver you can find it in Flashtools folder. PC need driver when xzu in fastboot mode.If you use USB 3.0 like me try different usb slot.

Hi Guys,
My first Sony Phone (previous Samsung User). I have the US Version C6806 LTE model. I have a similar question. I have unlocked my bootloader successfully via Sony's website. I want to be able to install TWRP and backup original ROM before applying custom ROMs. Doesn't look like there is a root available for this phone model yet? I am on firmware 14.1.B.2.257. My questions are:
1 - Is there a TWRP image I can flash on my model via fastboot without having root? Then boot into TWRP and backup the ROM?
2 - If not can I flash any of the images that I seen on XDA via fastboot that include the Root and TWRP in them? Or will those not work with .257 firmware?
3- If none of the options above work can I download an FTF image (older version) that I can root and use TWRP and if so which image do you recommend that would work with my phone model and LTE network on AT&T?
Thanks for all your help and sorry for all the questions I am a noob with Sony Phones. I did research here and seems most of the threads and images are NOT for C6806 which I have.
I think all tyour questions are answered in various threads in the X-ZU forum...
You have gone about it all ass about face, you should have downgraded to .532 then rooted with kingo (looks like is is safe?). Once rooted you should of then backed up your TA partition in case you ever need the phone serviced.
I dont know if TWRP is working well in any of the boot.img but CMR works fine (except for the date of the backups)
any of the firmware/ftf/ROMs will work with any of the Ultras as far as I know

I flashed a .532 firmware still no safe root method from what I can tell. Looks like I need to flash an earlier version or a FTF hopefully that contains root and custom recovery. I will keep reading and researching. Thanks for the help.
do you want to end up on a rooted stock firmware?
as you have already unlocked the boot loader you can just flash one of the kernel/boot img with recovery and then flash whatever rom you want from there...
I also run into Cyanogen Recovery and have trouble going back to FlashTool with my chromebook. I am a bit panicky, but your post is comforting and ensuring.
I got the C6806 xperia z ultra in year 2014. I have been using it as a home primary PC.

Hi everyone,
I was on Cyanogenmod and had disabled bootloader unlocking from development settings. After trying to update, I'm now stuck in recovery. While rebooting, the oneplus logo appears but later it just reboots to recovery. In fastboot, I can't flash anything because it says the bootloader is locked (I obviously can't fix that from settings because the phone won't boot). I'm able to get into TWRP so is there a way to enable bootloader unlocking using it?

Go to fastboot and boot into stock recovery, don't install. Just boot to recovery, command should be something like below.
fastboot boot recovery-name.img
If you can go to opx recovery, flash stock rom and see

I have the same problem, stuck in recovery, can't unlock, but worse: For some reason I have Cyanogenmod recovery installed, not TWRP. Now, can't install any stock rom. Tried from SD card and by sideload, but it seems that it just doesnt "stick" to /system. So, I am stuck in recovery, can't install CM, and can't unlock, to install TWRP.
Any ideas, other than getting a new phone tomorrow morning?
Thanks

Ah no. You'll probably need to find someone who can re-sign CM so that it'll flash.
Thanks for the answer, I have no idea how to do this, how is this done? I don't seem to find much info online...

NO Need To Worry by following this procedure you are going to install stock recovery. first, you have to download this zip.
link - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982087019810
after downloading this zip copy and extract it on your desktop (PC or Laptop). now switch OFF your opx and connect it with your pc by pressing vol Up button, you will find that pc installing some drivers if it install the drivers then you are going right. now after connecting your opx to pc open the extracted folder and open "MsmDownloadTool V2.0" . on opening this you will see the list of attached devices (for ex. com device and if your device is not connected then it will show No device). If you your device is attached then you have to click on START Tab on left top corner. it takes 30 ~ 40 Sec to complete the whole process after that your opx restart with installed stock recovery. through this recovery you can flash H2OS and OOS. If you want to install TWRP first of all you have to install oos or H20s after flashing, you have to allow oem unlock in developer setting.

so in recovery ..i went to advanced format then formatted system and cache etc
pressed reboot and message of are you sure to reboot ..no OS
i rebooted and screen stuck at the first black screen and could not shut down or restart :'(
good day,
If your bootloader is unlocked you can flash recovery via fastboot mode and in recovery flash a rom of your choice. If bootloader locked you'll have to go the flashtool way and if I may ask why did you reboot a systemless phone?

i rebooted it while it is systemless cause i'm reckless
where can i got the recovery to flash
my mobile is z2 6503
Ok check under Xperia Z2 General for FTF Z2 stock firmwares and download one of them. After that download and install the latest flashtool, which will assist you with installing the FTF firmware.
You can use Xperia Companion app on your computer to perform a software repair. Install the latest version of Xperia companion app from the Sony site. Once it's installed, open it and click software repair. It will ask you to connect the phone in flash mode in due time; at that point connect to your PC with a USB cable while pressing the Volume Down button. The Companion app will download the stock rom and flash it on its own. You just have to wait until the process is over. This will delete all the data on your device though.

You wiped everything and now there is no rom installed so its not going past the sony logo. You have two options.
1. Unlock bootloader if you want to run a custom rom.
2. Flash stock rom to go back to stock.
and how to flash stock rom , you need to have the flashtool , put your phone in donwloadmode ( volumne down + plug in the usb cable ) and then flash the stock rom of sony ( you can find the method on how to do it on google ) its simple and then you decide out of 2 options above from last post
Since your bootloader isn't unlocked your can use Sony Companion Software to repair your phone. When you click update there is a repair option. Select repair and hook up the phone in flashmode. Make sure your ZU is atleast 50% charged.
thanks for replying everyone i tried the flashtool stock rom installation and i got boot loop now i tried two different ftf files but they both result in boot loop what am i doing wrong?

can you flash the stock rom again and copy paste the log here in a code quote like this one:
Code:
write here
And what is your model? C6833 etc..
What stock rom did you download?
Which drivers did you use?
And which version of flashtool did you use?
And lastly what settings did you use when flashing the stock rom? All options included so ALL partitions being flashed. And none excluded.
Screenshots is always good help .

You're welcome
I recently installed a rom using the fastboot method and inadvertantly locked my phone during the install. The rom installed fine but now in a boot loop with this message " Find Device Storage Corrupted. Your Device Is Unsafe Now". I have also lost my twrp recovery so seem to be locked out of any form of recovery. Any ideas before i bin the phone in frustration.

I remember that way to flash rom has options to lock your phone back. 1st you have to unlock your phone then flash rom back ( remember to untick lock the phone after flash ) try it. Hope my advices can help you.
Unfortunately I cannot get into my phone to sign into my miui account or turn on debugging. I am in a boot loop so cannot do anything.
My problem still persists and would appreciate any help please....
