I am thinking about rooting my note 3 if I root my device I cant install the OTA updates?
Incremental updates won't work, you have to download full rom and flash. You can use ZCX TWRP if you want both root and incremental updates.

Is ZCX can be flashed over Cofface TWRP? without losing any data or anything?
Have a look at the thread, here it is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3462448

This way it's in the right place.
How can I flash the developer ROM over the Stable one with a Mi Recovery and with Native Root? (No costum recovery and SuperSU)
All the guides I saw use custom recovery. Can I just change the name of the .zip to "update.zip" and choose update?
By the way, is there a mirror to download the official ROM, I canĀ“t complete the download from the official site...
Thanks
1. Download "hermes" firmware on xiaomi.eu
2. After download open Updater
3. click on choose update package
4. this is it
You don't need TWRP, no root, no gapps... TWRP is not better than the miui recovery. It's just for people who never used a xiaomi smartphone.
By the way... it is much better when you wipe (after the installation) you phone. After that you don't need to wipe your when you using the xiaomi.eu rom's. Also you don'z need to flash Gapps, because xiaomi.eu is bloatware free, with better translation and gapps. Updates you will get over the updater app.

I tried but it didn't work for me.
@4o4i
Thanks!
So I have to reinstall stock recovery.
Yah this doesn't work for me since the stock recovery will reject incorrectly signed zips (which the developer rom seems to be).
Im using LOS and i got a new ota update
I want to jnstall it but some ppl say if i install it via ota it will make tge phone bootloop
So how to install the update?
Thx and sorry for my bad english
just flash a newer version of the zip without wiping /system. no need to reflash GApps since it has a "survival" script. if you want to update GApps, wipe /system first, flash LOS and then the newer GApps.
don't forget to wipe /cache and dalvik-cache after you update a ROM (always do)

Use the official TWRP, ota does not work with others.
Guys I have a rooted Redmi note 4 with TWRP recovery. I'm on developer beta ROM running dev v7.6.22 and I just got an update to v7.6.29 with 84 mb. I'm unable to update it via TWRP. It's saying that the updating process ended with an error. So no way to update.... we've to wait for full ROM update (like 1.5gb) to jump to the new version.
Or do u guys have any suggestions??
Its occurred because of the TWRP Recovery. You can flash Stock Recovery or u Have to download full update package.

Not Possible with Minimal updates it will result in Bootloops.
Is there any custom ROM which provides incremental OTA updates just like OEMs??
Just asking?

As of now, not really [even though cardinal aosp says that they push updates via ota, but newer builds always need a clean flash]. But i guess lineage os 15.1 can get official in 2 or 3 months and lets just keep our fingers crossed for resurrection remix oreo.

Yes you can flash redwolf twrp recovery it provides Miui Ota updates on a custom recovery. I am currently using it and it's working absolutely fine. Search redwolf recovery on Google.
You can use mookee rom...they provide incremental updates of generally 20-50mb almost daily...bt u have to be a paid user... otherwise to get incremental ota zip...you have to download it from their website which is free...its of the same size i.e. 20-50mb only or you can also download the full zip package like other roms too...

Mokee and omni official.

Been looking for the same too. So sad seing we got so, so many custom rom but none support incremental ota. Even omni official which should support it doesn't have it yet.
Getting update everyday wouldn't be a problem anymore if we have incremental ota. Now need to download 500mb full rom every time ?

Hi,
Can you help me with the details on how do you perform incremental OTA with RedWolf? I can't get it done no matter what I try.
Thanks.
there's a new OTA update available but i can't seem to update via custom recovery
You can't update via ota if you have a custom recovery. You'll have to download full custom recovery Rom(1.8 gb) and flash it via twrp.
The update your talking about is 10.0.3.7 isnt it?

there are modified TWRP version in xda which supports OTA updates, try with those!
or as told above download full rom 1.8gb and flash it via twrp!
on saperate note,
always download full ROM and flash it because you may never know if OTA gets failed to flash and /or you have device booting in to fastboot Bot.
I always download FULL ROM (both Recovery(1.8gb) and Fastboot2.8gb
