Moto G3 recovery - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, All..
About to the end of my rope. Moto G3 Xt 1540 over a year old out of warranty.
Originally came with 5.1 but because I was involved in soak test, I had to up to 6.0 before I knew some of the problems it would cause.
I rooted and then unrooted and the recovery problem started. I have tried everything I could to get it into recovery mode.
Now I just rooted it again with Kingroot and it shows that it came up fine, but still only the no command screen.
I have reset many times including unticking save and restore..nothing.
I can't get twrp to install but SU is there and have re-loaded and tried adb multiple times to fastboot...no help.
My ultimate goal is to flash the stock 6.0 rom that I have loaded all into the adb directory..still no luck.
I would sure appreciate some help...I can do whatever necessary to get there as I already have another phone so nothing to save.
Thanks in advance..

[Q] Need help rooting/unlocking bootloader for Verizon Note 2

Hopefully someone can help me. So I rooted my device using the Casual method. Tried many times. It still errored out but when I looked on my phone SU was installed. The root worked but when I tried to go into recovery, it took me to Android recovery not TWRP. So being ignorant, I decided to install TWRP through the Goo Manager and when I tried to go into recovery, I got the "system software not authorized by vzw" error. Could only get into download mode. Decided to flash back to stock using Odin. Process went fine but it basically put my phone back to where it was without root (same apps, settings, etc.). I guess it didn't do a complete flash? So I decided to run casual again to re root/unlock bootloader. Tried it multiple times on win7 64bit computer. Even tried it on a 32bit VM. Came up with this error. Someone please help!

HTC Explorer - Recovery, Factory reset, sd card not working

Hi
I rooted my htc explorer sometimes ago.
Today i tried to unroot the phone.
I relocked the htc explorer's bootloader. But it is showing security warning.
I followed some tutorial to unroot the htc explorer.
I tried to factory reset after the unroot. It didn't work.
I checked my sd card status. It is not detected.
I went to bootloader and tried to use recovery which again brought me to fastboot.
I tried to factory reset which took me to the fastboot again.
Please help me.
You'll want to find the RUU for your phone. This should fix you right up.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500165
Unfortunately it seems that many of the links for the RUU are down. You need to know what region the phone is from and what update it was on last to be safe though because they made different variants of the phone and typically the versions are not compatible.

Rooted LG Volt stuck in CWM recovery boot loop after brother does OTA update

So I let my brother use my rooted LG Volt ls740 to play a game. The phone had downloaded an OTA update about a week ago, but I've been putting it of and not installing it BC the phone is rooted. Well he went ahead and did the update without asking and basically soft bricked the phone.
It just boot loops to CWM Recovery. I bit the bullet and tried to wipe and factory reset the phone to no avail.
i then tried downloading and flashing with stock Roms zv5 and zv6. Both install fine with no errors. When i go to restart it goes to a screen that says "root access possibly lost, fix" followed by 6 nos and a yes that says Fix root (/system/xbin/su) Whether i choose yes or no it just restarts back to the same screen.
I've looked everywhere and figured if anyone could help it would be XDA. Please someone help. This phone is my livelyhood and i can't afford to replace it at the current time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

This is the fix for the G2 and G3, so I would think it's the same for yours, although I am not familiar with that particular one.
Since you have CWM and not TWRP, which includes a terminal emulator, you'll probably have to do it via adb shell on your PC, or maybe the Aroma File Manager:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit enter
type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
After that, you should be able to flash a rom or install the KDZ, if available.

relocking bootloader, unrooting, installing marshmallow

please help me. ive been dealing with issues with my v10 since i tried installing a custom rom this morning. i had to factory reset my phone and bring it back to 5.1.1 after accidentally softbricking it. now i want to update it to 6.0 to see if i can smooth out some of the many issues that suddenly rose (phone restarting upon trying to uninstall things, settings crashing when opening the security tab among many others) and trying to install the ota via flashfire didnt work. so i just want to completely relock the bootloader and unroot my phone and just get it back to normal. can someone please help me.
(im sorry im just so tired ive been dealing with this since this morning, its now 4am)
FIXED: just used the lg up client to install the marshmallow kdz. everything is working fine now.
Any luck???

No Command Error on Nexus 5X, even in recovery mode

I used Wugfresh' root installer before and it worked like a charm. You can't get any OTA's with it though. Since I wanted Android 7, I wanted to unroot, install the OTA and reroot using Wugfresh' client. I already did this before when I wanted to upgrade to Android 6. Then everything went well and I was done in an hour.
This time however, I'm stuck. When it needed to reboot after succesfully installing Android 7.1.1, I got set to the No Command screen. After some googling I found out that you had to go to the bootloader first, and then go to Recovery. I got that far, but now I have no clue on what to do.
Rebooting from there doesn't work (obviously). It seems logical to me that I have to install TWRP, but the zip file is not there anymore to install it. Is there a way to still get this zip file on my phone while in recovery mode, and is this the solution to my problem? I also found the format option in TWRP. Does that get rid of all the TWRP stuff and bring me back to complete stock, so I can go back to rooting everything again? I'd be happy to do so, since right now I'm sitting with nothing but a dead Android.
Thank you so much for your help in advance!
