When you unlock the rezound the screen just goes blue for some reason? my friend who i sold a rezound to is telling me she's had this happen to her 4 times already, and i can't see it until saturday, so i wanted to see if any of you have had this before. i'm gonna be pissed if i sold her a faulty phone, damnit!
i searched online and can't find this issue anywhere.
I've had it go to the white HTC screen while Sense booted up a few times, but never blue screen. I would think that something is wrong with the phone.
ugh. this blows. i talked her out of the iphone too, which is what i do for everyone, and now she's gonna be like WAH CRAPPY ANDROID SUCKS WAH. sigh.
Sounds like you talked her into a phone she didn't need anyway. Why would someone talk someone else out of getting what they want? I mean there's room for iPhones in this world too, same as there's room for people that work at McDonalds. I don't know if that came off as a slight to iPhone users or McDonalds employees...either way seems to fit lol
do you work for a verizon store? do you realize the amount of money lost by franchises because apple likes to play their bull**** little supply and demand game? by not producing enough crap iphones, my store gets shafted (we got 3 iphone 4s. 3.) and we lose money. rather than continue to lose money on the iphone (it even takes over a week to get an iphone 4 in stock) i'm going to sell what's on hand and make money. it's a business. money NEEDS to be made. she played wtih my phone, she enjoyed my phone, and i sold her my phone. how is that giving her something she doesn't want? she only wanted an iphone because it's got an Apple logo on it and it's got an "i" in front of it. she came from blackberry and knew NO reasons as to why she should get an iphone; she only wanted one because it was white and people told her to. that's the kind of ignorance i deal with on a daily basis, and that's why i sell people android.
I don't work for any carrier/phone manufacturer. Do you know how many people actually LIKE the products that fruit themed company sells? I don't but that doesn't preclude someone else from making that choice. Stop being a fan-boy and try to accept that Android isn't for everyone same as iDevices aren't...and WP well that's just funny ;-)
did you read that? clearly you didn't. i'll paraphrase for you since you obviously didn't read my post:
she had no idea why she wanted an iphone. she's never used one in her life, she doesn't own any apple products whatsoever. she "wanted" one because people said OMFG GET AN IPHONE THEY'RE THE BEST! therefore, she decided, without even knowing what android was, that she'd get an iphone. that was her justification. i informed her of android, and of apple, and she chose android. fanboyism? more like being a competent salesman who does his job damn well.
hopefully you've read this one!
So she bought the phone from a Verizon store? She should be able to return it, correct? And it's totally not an Android issue, obviously. This is still what I would call a new phone and HTC is getting all of the bugs out. Just have her return it for a new one. She'll be happy with it once she gets one that is actually working. I, too, have pulled someone away from iOvercharge. She had a Mac, now has a badass PC. Had an iPoop and now is loving my old DX2. You just need to make sure you let her realize how new this phone is. A different one would probably solve all the problems.

yeah, she's just confused in general about smartphones...she hardly knew how to work her 3+ year old blackberry hahaha
but yeah, i'm having her come in saturday so i can look at it...gotta talk to my boss about how we handle exchanges because i've never dealt with that before. i've never had someone return a phone that i sold them before lol.. thing is, if it's a faulty unit, now we're stuck with the faulty unit, so as the store, i don't really know what to do ya know? gotta work out the kinks! but yeah i'm interested to see what actually happens
Damn, that would suck. You could be a jerk and just dump it off on someone else. Ha! I thought you guys could send them back to HTC. That really sucks that you guys have to deal with it. Well, since it's such a new phone to her, and since she would have to start over with a new one anyway, you could always factory reset to see if that helps and gets rid of the issue.

Wouldn't you have the ability to return it to Verizon like a 1:1 swap?
honestly guys, i've got no idea. since there's widespread rezound problems, i don't know how we deal with it..i've never returned a phone before. i'm gonna have to talk to my boss, who in turn, will have to talk to our HEAD store in north jersey about sending it back...we don't deal directly with verizon; our main store orders phones, then sends to us, and we pay the main store. it's RETARDED and that's why we don't get **** on release day. the main store f'ed us out of the rezound, razr and nexus launch. my boss drove 2 hours north today just to pick up the ddamn nexus because he said he's sick of their **** lol
Hi all,
Lately my eyes have been set on the galaxy s6 edge as my next phone, however I am somewhat concerned about all the issues I've been hearing about it. Having a look through the comments and threads, it would seem that there are issues in regards to scratches appearing on screens, dead pixels, the edge not responding correctly, bending issues, etc. Are these issues really that widespread, and would I be better off in just getting a normal S6? Unfortunately, from my experiences, phones are very hard to replace or get fixed in my area, so I really dont want to be stuck with a phone that has issues right out of the box.
I've got the edge and I have zero problems with it.

I've never heard of bending issues on the S6's.
As for my Gold Platinum 64GB S6E, it's perfect. No scratches, no dead pixels, no connection issues (Sprint), no weird battery drains.
Don't be afraid of buying the S6E if that's what you really want. If something is wrong, just exchange it at the store or get your refund.

Well, its nice to hear some stories of where everything is completely fine. Are the defects a widespread problem, or has it just been bloated up to be bigger than what it actually is?
Also, I would love to just be able to exchange it, but from my experience they will just say its your fault and then do nothing about it or pay to get it fixed.
When you go to the store check it our really well in the store and when you get back to your car. Pretty sure you have 14 days. I have 30 days because of my discount on my account. If concerned about it wait a month or two. All new phones when released usually have some quality control and bugs. Also remember that the issues are blown up on here.

Unfortunately we do not have a 14 day return day policy over here (would love to have one though). They usually give it to you in the packaging and once its opened its usually your problem, but I'll try opening it the moment I get it at the store so they know it wasnt my fault - hopefully if it is defected they will exchange it. And yes I did think about waiting a couple of months, but the carrier im on is currently offering an extra 2gb data free per month if you get it soon so I'd rather not wait!
I think I will just get the edge and make sure its not defected before I leave the store!
Dont let 100 people on a forum decide the phone purchase for you. Fantastic phone, any issues will be ironed out soon, IM sure.
If worried, just buy at shop.
So far mine in great condition.

Regarding bending issues- this is why I recommend keeping your Hydraulic Presses and chainsaws in a different pocket from your Phone .

Hi, Let me assure you that if you read any forum on earth regarding any product manufactured you wouldn't make another purchase of ANYTHING, shoes, socks cars, hot water bottles, toasters etc.....
There WILL be lemons in all man made products. It is the nature of a forum where we come to generally moan and groan about what we buy. If you take it seriously or to heart you would never leave your house.
I am a complete certifiable tech junkie. I didn't need to go buy the SS6Edge. I still have a new IPhone 6, Sony Xperia Z2 and the Ultra. Not to mention a few others during the past year like the nexus 5. There have been stories about all of these devices, forums are full of negatives.
I have no doubt there will be S6 Edge lemons, there has to be in a production this size. Point is 99.5% will be fine. A tiny percentage will drive their owners to distraction, for me this came in the guise of an Asus Transformer some years ago. Considering the gear I purchase in a year though I really cant moan and you should buy what you desire with confidence. Buy from a decent retailer with a known reputation who will refund or replace IF a problem is found, now that is a genuine concern more so that what we buy but from where we buy it.
Such gear is not cheap. I am sincerely questioning my own sanity this evening after realising I have paid out 1100€ on a mobile phone, THAT worries me. :silly:
If you are of a nervous disposition keep well away from these forums or consider some facts. There have been sales of the iPhone 6 in the millions world wide and the bendgate silliness has proven to be just that, silly.
Please don't flame me if you are one of the genuine unfotunates to have bought a lemon BUT that is what they are, an exception to the rule.
Kind regards, Ryland

so lets say they sold one million for instance 2% is 20.000 units no way is there 20,000 people in that thread lol
and it seems to be affecting the black version and not the white or gold so that so it does sound plauseable that there 2% of over all sales of the handset not just on the colour could be a bit more than the 2% of the black handset sales could be closer to 10% as it is affecting black version and seems a bigger seller

May I respectfully ask how and where you arrive at the number 2%?
Hey for those who have purchased a faulty mobile its not a joke, not at all BUT seeing as the unit was released in America on the 10th? in some European countries on the 17th I would suggest it would be absolutely impossible to arrive at any accurate figures regarding faulty devices.
There is wide spread shortage in Europe as Samsung Europe just cant get the stock to ship out to the stores.
I would like to know how you researched this figure of 2%? The importer in this country is in such disarray due to demand they don't even know yet accurate figures for sales especially returns.
Before I am accused of being some sort of Samsung fanboy I have only returned to Samsung after my last purchase of the Note 3, now how long ago was that? I went Sony also Apple. All three have threads on this very site full of scare stories and some genuine horrors.
May I suggest you don't use unsubstantiated guess work to support some theory that as yet cannot possibly be quantified or known.

Ryland

I was quoting the 2% estimate from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60203785&postcount=12
For the record, I don't believe it's 2%. Scratches is probably 30% and pink screen is probably 50%, but many won't notice it.
We have a poll for scratches, should start one for pink screen as well, and that's an issue with regular S6 too.
The phone has been permanently discontinued now, and Samsung has to find a way to replace ALL Note 7s. So I guess this will be a run on the stores. Hopefully people can get other replacement devices, but I have no doubt there will be those that just wont give up the phone. Good luck on rolling the dice with your safety.

Thats it, there are now ::edit:: 7 confirmed fires for REPLACEMENT Note 7's. Returning mine tomorrow for most likely store credit until the Pixel is released. Or I'll have to go with the Iphone 7+ until next year. There is literally nothing that I disliked about this phone, but it seems like a :edit: 2nd recall is just around the corner.

Mine's already on swappa. Will have to lower the price and accept trades at this point. I just want it gone this has been the worst experience of my life. Is it a great phone? Absolutely. But the lack of proper QA testing is a direct result of these issues.
I was hoping to do a trade for the pixel and that's not happening which is a shame

I had the S7 Edge already, and I don't want to cough up more money for a phone that I already had and sold at a major loss.
Since I can't get behind the Pixel hype, it's time I go back to Apple. Samsung needs to reprioritize. I'm done getting screwed by them.

ultimately, I think the V20 is a nice phone. But certainly just cant touch the Note 7 in terms of overall features and quality. Its a tough decision. I would tell people to just get a dumb phone for cash and have them refund the difference. I mean, nothing attractive will be out between now and the next upgrade cycle I think.

A recall seems far more likely at this point than the thing going on sale to new customers. Ever since the recall was issued, new customers have not been able to buy one. And only for a little under 3 weeks have people been able to exchange their faulty ones for "safe" ones.
I'm unfortunately done with the Note 7. I tried every front to try to give Samsung my money. They just won't take it.

"Ever since the recall was issued, new customers have not been able to buy one." That's not true, I bought an AT&T N7 from Best Buy's online

I thought they resumed sales like over a week ago.
Here is the story from gsmarena.

Here is the latest from theverge
http://www.theverge.com/2016/10/9/13219878/samsung-galaxy-note-7-replacement-fire-fifth-statement
Samsung stated that they will move forward with whatever the cpsc recommends. Which most likely is going to be a full discontinue of the product and issuing similar product replacements or refunds for returned devices. I doubt they will be forced to do much more than that. And tbh they are a massive Corp, they won't give people more than probably a 20$ gift card for their troubles. They have no incentive I think to lose even more money.
What I'm curious about though is if they will begin remote wiping phones in order to get them all returned. It's pretty easy to do on their end. I doubt the CPSC will allow the devices to be out in the wild if it's determined a design flaw.
And btw all outlets have halted or have been instructed by the cpsc to halt sales of the Note 7. Some of them permanently like ATT.

Then you were one of the lucky ones. I haven't been able to from any site or store.
This sounds like a gossip site now smh.. Note 7 is in reduced production while investigating.. Not stopped.. & note 7 firmware is still getting developed. US sales are suspended till more clarity is made of the current events... Plz stop making a mountain out of mohill..... Now back to your regular scheduled programming
Directly from Samsung's Press/media website:
"We are working with relevant regulatory bodies to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7. Because consumers’ safety remains our top priority, Samsung will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7 while the investigation is taking place.
We remain committed to working diligently with appropriate regulatory authorities to take all necessary steps to resolve the situation. Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note7 or replacement Galaxy Note7 device should power down and stop using the device and take advantage of the remedies available."
https://news.samsung.com/global/sam...note7-while-further-investigation-takes-place
So there you go. Even if production is supposedly not fully halted (at least the battery construction portion is for sure), you cant get the device anywhere. So it really doesnt matter. I do however think its entirely irresponsible to put yourself and your family members at risk with the device simply because you dont believe Samsung's "gossip". If you or your loved ones are injured by the device then its basically your own fault at this point. Whats further disturbing to me is that people are actually trying to circumvent the safety precaution update on ORIGINAL Note 7 devices?!? Like wtf?! Do you really want to have the thing blow up? Idk, I dont mean to be argumentative or dismissive in any way but I think its a bit ignorant to push aside the fact that there may be a design fault in the phone itself. Plus, Im sure most of us can swing $20-30 for a temp phone while this blows over. Of which an ATT rep - in store - told me they would refund the full value, along with all the accessories I bought for my Note.
http://news.samsung.com/us/2016/10/...lobal-stop-sale-and-exchange-of-galaxy-note7/
It seems as though Samsung has about 4 million Galaxy Note 7 devices that they don't know what to do with. Doubtful they'd set flames to a pile of these phones (as done previously with defective phones), as the Note 7 is so expensive. 4 million devices x almost $1,000 per device... you see how much cash they'd be losing on top of what they've already lost.
Apparently, Samsung has been considering reselling all recalled Note 7's in emerging markets like Vietnam and India. If the relaunch is executed, the refurbished phones will go on sale sometime next year.
There are no details on how Samsung is deeming recalled Note 7's "safe". Samsung engineers still are yet to find the true cause of the battery malfunction.
Source: Digital Trends
http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/samsung-refurbished-galaxy-note-7/
Personally, I don't think it's wise to relaunch a potentially dangerous product when the root cause it still unknown. I'm a bit of a hypocrite, considering I'm still hanging on to my recalled Note 7. The chances of a single device malfunctioning is extremely close to zero, but when reselling 4 million recalled phones, it is likely reports will start emerging again.
I'm very skeptical of this move if true. Samsung MUST find the root cause before it decides to refurbish and resell.

As long as they pinpoint the problem, it shouldn't be an issue.
I'm sure they'll have to reassure customers SOMEHOW if they relaunch, so more details to come I guess.
However, based on Samsung's latest announcements, they haven't found the root cause.
If they mess this up a THIRD time, they are done.
I get that they'd be losing A LOT of money by scrapping the Note 7 entirely, but it's really ill advised to relaunch. It would probably be better to take apart the components and put them into a different device and sell THAT.
At least in that case they would be getting rid of that faulty battery.
Quite crazy if true.
Although, if they did manage to nail down the problem and sell the refurbished units at a lower price, I might consider a purchase.
*if* it happens.
Yes please!
They won't be able to do this (due to existing bans etc) and not sure how they'll get round the barred IMEI numbers, but if they can pinpoint the problem, change whatever needs changing (circuitry, battery etc) then why not. I'd buy one straight away!
Come on Samsung do it!
I can't see why this would be any worse than them releasing the S8. Whats to say the problem isn't genetic!!!

I'd say they will be OK releasing the Notes back in to the wild in certain nations that are not comprised of Nannies. I am also glad to still own mine. If thet re-release them I think we can rest assured it will not be in the NA, UK or Euro markets....ever again.
If there's a Note7 market, no matter how small... That could only be good for Note7 development, updates etc. Or maybe that's wishful thinking.
But they'd have to revamp some design before they can sell it as refurnished units. Maybe an outstanding colour, like Green, to indicate a safe, like really safe unit this time.
Refurbished or not, if they relaunch the Note 7, it'll still be the best phone on the planet.
Vietnam and India are very lucky.
This would be fantastic news! Logistically I am not sure how they can relaunch the Note7. How would they convince people that they've made the phone safe?
Personally I feel Samsung has realised that it made a massive mistake in killing off Note7. It was knee-jerk reaction to a handful of half baked stories of Note7's exploding.
or not: So, it has been said this is old info and it won't realy happen: http://www.androidcentral.com/sellin...completely-mad
So looks like there was a design fault with the Note 7

I'm not a Note7 owner but looking at these posts, I'm concerned that so many people, especially XDA users do not want to return their phones. There's a reason Samsung recalled the phone and is pushing these limitations on you. It's for your own safety and the people around. You can barely bring it anywhere anymore, and if it actually does explode in your face, or injures an old lady on the bus, what are you going to do?
You can keep fighting if you want. Pretty soon, Samsung is going to block all the Note7's. They're going to force the battery to limit. They're going to blacklist the IMEI's. They've already started doing it. You can't keep fighting Samsung much longer.
I know that there are stubborn people here who think that Note7's are safe. Yes, it hasn't overheated yet. Yeah okay it doesn't get warm. Cool, your phone functions perfectly fine. But I don't think you're going to be thinking the same if it explodes.
I don't care that you can't find an alternative phone. I don't care if you think you're smart enough to get around Samsung's blocking tactics. I don't care if you think that your phone is safe! It's potentially unsafe and could cause death or damage! Please guys, please return your Note7 phones. It's not worth the fight anymore.
If you have things to say, or you want to tell me why I'm wrong, feel free to post below.
These phones do not explode, they catch fire. You cannot demand anybody to give up any of their possesions regardless of how dangerous they can be. Understand that it is possible to responsibly own such a phone. It is possible to keep them in safe environments, negating these claims.
The phone is a unique piece of hardware. Owning it doesn't even mean using it or turning it on. It's value could increase in a few decades. Of course there are a number of reasons for and against owning these phones and it is nobody's place to dictate to anyone what they should do with the hardware they purchased. Talented people can even completely fix the electrical issue causing the fault, such as electrical engineers. Such a professionally repaired phone would be perfectly valid to use.
Surely these threads have run their course by now. Stances have been chosen and arguments have been made. It's unlikely anything will be swayed or mindsets changed by recycling them yet again.
Yes Father. I'll make sure I run to the store and exchange it just because you posted this thread. Please, shut the hell up already. Whoever has them now is keeping them. Mine is fine, and I don't fly, so I'm not concerned about it.

I was really curious why someone would come over to post such a long post basically ordering a ton of strangers to do something just because you want them to. Then I saw your profile pic in Tapatalk and realized you're just a young child and it all made sense. Shouldn't you be doing homework or something?

But, but… please?
He did ask nicely
Seriously OP? Mind your own business. It's not like we don't know what's going on or are unaware of the risks.
You are the Anti-XDA user, please take your hate any negative attitudes elsewhere.

"I don't care" and "Please..." is not making any sense in your case. Some logic it would be welcome. As I can see you have your own fight on XDA. [emoji53]

Apart from that your post was certainly meant as satirical poem, please stop posting non-technical, personal opinions - to forens for devices you don't even own. Thank You!

Thanks I like your points however you are siding with Samsung against us the users. You could have tried to figure out why we are so persistent on keeping n7, knowing all the risks. Samsung takes 1100$ from us like it is drinking water, easy peazy in matters of seconds. Yet to get that refund back it takes a month for them to process and more in some cases. I want to return my phone and probably will but i have to be out of Phone for a month or more. You obviously dont care if I m without phone because obviously you care about Samsung more. But for us living a month without our smartphone is not trivial yes doable but not trivial. Anyway this is just my view nd i may be wrong but i know for sure not everyone has the right answer lol.
What an elegant flame from an apple employee..... GO AWAY.
The iphone forum is over here-----> forum.apple.com
PS iphones suck. The note7 is 100 years ahead in technology and every aspect. which is the real reason why this foreign competition phone is banned in the USA from a couple fires... Explosion is BS wake up sheep.

It's great to see that you care for others. Obviously it isn't going to convince everyone but thank you for taking your time to type this out.

**** off
I've read a few articles on why we should return the note 7, one article calling people who keep the note 7 idiots as there are just as good phones on the market. Except there isn't. The whole reason I brought a galaxy note in the first place was the S-pen a feature only available to the note series. I had a note 4 prior to the note 7 (note 5 never came to UK) so for me it's a pretty big upgrade and have skipped all other phones prior to the note 7 to wait for a new note phone. Now some people probably just brought the note 7 because it was one of the best devices of 2016, maybe they liked the design or even features like the Iris scanner but probably not really so much for the S-pen. I assume most people on XDA at least have a note 7 mainly because of the S-pen else we would gladly return the note 7 for something else but quite frankly the note 7 has one of the best designs, pretty decent camera tho I think the pixel slightly beats it now with it's HDR+ and most of all it has the S-pen.
So until the note 8 comes out or the S8 edge plus or something with an S-pen I'll gladly keep hold of my note 7 and continue to use it pretty certain that now I've used it with a 3rd party charger etc and hasn't exploded so far it is very unlikely to explode or catch fire in the future especially seeing how quickly the reports were coming out before the note 7 recall.
Before any further flaming ensues, thread closed.
