How to flash paranoid rom 6.0.2 - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys
I was on stock android and stock recovery oos 3.1.3. I tried to change recovery using fastboot so i tried so many recovries, but unable to flash anyone then i found twrp recovery by teamspark so i flashed it and successfully done, but problem with it is, i am not able toh flash paranoid rom and stock rom using this recovery and even the stock recovery is also not flashable now, just stuck on logo whenever i flash stock recovery. So which recovery i can use which can correctly flashable and i can flash paranoid rom by that successfully.
Thanks in advance.

Flash old stock recovery followed by any OOS 2.X.X firmware . Now you can proceed with PA. Note dont use any of the twrp's designed for mm bootloader.

First of all, you have to downgrade your bootloader. Then you can flash any recovery for the old bootloader.

Thanks i m done now

You have to have a stock system partition to update to Lollipop or Marshmallow. You may be able to just flash stock recovery if you haven't done any other modifications.
Thanks i haven't done any other modifications so ill try to flash the stock recovery, do you know where i could get the stock recovery file from?

Download the stock ROM and extract and you should find the stock recovery as recovery.img in the folder.

Bootloop Please help

Ok , So I finally was able to unlock my bootloader after getting that 50 % error, I thought that I'd flash miui 8 , so I downloaded the rom from official mi website and flashed it with twrp but for some reason I got stuck in a bootloop. I dont want to download fastboot rom as it takes a lot of time due to slow internet, so could anyone tell me how can i successfully flash a rom from twrp. I've got bot miui 8 chinese developer rom and global beta rom downloaded.
You need patched boot for normal twrp or u must use cofface twrp to flash the rom.
You cant flash stock rom via twrp without patched boot.img
And if you are flashing marshmallow rom u must know that the bootloader will lock itself again.
Why not just flash the miui.eu version? No boot image mess..

where can I find a patched boot.img for latest chinese developer rom.Thanx for the fast reply.
Just use cofface recovery for stock roms:

I think that the Alca recovery do the same, but I haven't test it yet

Bro wait....!!!
Is this real?
You are using too old recovery(as your ss says 2.8.7)+old boot loader..you need some work on your phone to be able to flash new cm 13/14.1.
Just head over to general thread and find how to upgrade boot loader and install latest twrp.
After that you can flash all latest available ROM.

Same here with the TZ issues. As for the recovery, the TWRP version 3.0.2-0 is the most latest one that I can flash & boot into successfully. If I flash anything newer than 3.0.0-1 my OPX is stuck on OP logo as well.
My phone is stuck at one plus boot logo when i tried to go into recovery mode or tried to start it the oneplus logo popped and goes out again and again and when i tried to flash twrp through fastboot mode it say the device is locked cant change or erase the recovery what should i do please guide me
The only recovery that will flash on mine is 3.0.2-0. I've tried flashing through Fastboot. I've even tried to use the dd command for both 3.0.3-0 official and blu sparkz v41 and it gets stuck at the OnePlus logo.
Phone still boots into OOS just fine and 3.0.2-0 flashes through the old JMZ TWRP app just fine. It's just any other method that doesn't work.
The latest recoverys for new bootloader is 3.0.3, bluesparks 3.0.2-1 V41 or Sultans updated TWRP. 3.0.2 and under us for old bootloader.

After flashing recovery you have to boot right into it with fastboot command then swipe to allow modifications?

As stated above, all it does is hang at the OnePlus logo.
Also...
fastboot boot drive:\path\to\twrp-3.0.3-0-onyx.img
downloading 'boot.img'...

Ok sorry what I did was keep it simple. Reflash original stock recovery, flash 2.2.3 then flash 3.1.4 and boot. Just skip everything and reboot back to bootloader mode. Now you can flash latest TWRP and should boot latest ROMs without any issues.

2.2.3 flashed successfully. I already know 3.1.4 will work. I'll post again if your plan completely works.
...and I'm still getting the same errors after flashing 3.1.4 through stock recovery. o.0
I'm going to start from the earliest firmware available and flash progressively from there and see if that works.

Bootloop after flashing rr nougat

Hey guys.
I'm using a 32/3GB kenzo with an unlocked bootloader running official rr mm.
I formatted the phone, flashed CM14 firmware, flashed the official RR nougat and GAPPS, then rebooted to system.
At this point, it started bootlooping, booting to the MI splashscreen, staying there for about half the time it usually does, before rebooting and repeating the process.
At this point, I was unable to access recovery, but was able to access fastboot and edl.
Flashing a recovery using the "fastboot flash recovery" command failed, so I assume that the partitions were corrupted.
I had to revert to MIUI by flashing through edl using MI flash, which fixed all the issues.
Can someone tell me what I did wrong?
Or should I follow the newbie guide 2.0 from the forums?
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

Which recovery you uaed for flashing rr n. Because you went bootloop and recovery was not able to access that means may be some problems in recovery or either in rom/gapps zip. Make sure you are flashing gapps for NOUGAT only. And use latest stable miui firmware (not cm14 zip one although may be both are same)
Try this
1. Flash zcx recovery (I recommend this, never disappointed)
2. Flash latest miui stable firmware
3. Flash rom zip
4. Flash gapps n
Boot to system
5. Then flash kernel or anything.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try it soon. Can you tell me how to get the miui stable firmware?
Should I fastboot flash latest MIUI stable before flashing the ROM or is there a MIUI firmware zip file to flash?

There is flashable zip file which is extracted from miui rom only. So both way will be good as flash latest stable miui rom and then twrp > rom zip > gapps. Or twr0 > firmware zip (search in any custom rom thread you will get one) > custom rom zip > gapps.
Only benefit of flashing firmware zip is less time consuming and less file size (around 50mb) compare to full miui rom.

Going back from OpenKirin RR to EMUI

EDIT: I figured it out myself, for anyone else in the same situation: I downloaded the proper Stock Rom for my phone and just flashed it with fastboot flash, no custom recovery was needed. After that I simply flashed Lineage OS and it's working like a charm.
Hello, I recently switched back to an Android phone that's why I'm a bit rusty. I successfuly installed Resurrection Remix on my Huawei P20 Lite.
After realizing there is no Notch support I decided to go back to stock or switch to Lineage OS.
Now I have two questions:
1) On the OpenKirin page it says you need stock EMUI 8.0 before you apply one of their ROMs. Does this mean if I want to switch to Lineage OS I need to go back to stock EMUI or can I go from RR to Lineage?
2) I downloaded 'Huawei P20 Lite-ANE-LX1 8.0.0.144(C432).zip' from xda which is supposed to be the stock rom. In the instructions on here it says I need to install TWRP. However OpenKirin says their ROMs don't work with TWRP. Can I just flash the stock firmware with adb fastboot, like described in the OpenKirin FAQ?
So my question basically is, what do I have to do to go from RR with stock recovery back to stock EMUI?
im in the same problem.. my fone brick in twrp logo.... i dont know how pass this logo
You can use eRecovery to download the entire ROM, you need the stock recovery and flash it with fastboot (fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk recovery_ramdisk.img) then go to the recovery mode and download the rom using WiFi and that's all, as advice I recomend you always make a system backup in the sdcard using TWRP. Sorry for my bad english. You can dowload the recovery here
