Cant Flash Recovery or ROM - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am using TWRP 3.0.2.0 It is giving me problems as shown in images below.
I tried flashing new recovery but it also couldn't get flashed. While flashing new CM 13/CM14.1 ROMs it is giving errors, but it flashes older CM 13 ROMs fine.

Bro wait....!!!
Is this real?
You are using too old recovery(as your ss says 2.8.7)+old boot loader..you need some work on your phone to be able to flash new cm 13/14.1.
Just head over to general thread and find how to upgrade boot loader and install latest twrp.
After that you can flash all latest available ROM.

Same here with the TZ issues. As for the recovery, the TWRP version 3.0.2-0 is the most latest one that I can flash & boot into successfully. If I flash anything newer than 3.0.0-1 my OPX is stuck on OP logo as well.

My phone is stuck at one plus boot logo when i tried to go into recovery mode or tried to start it the oneplus logo popped and goes out again and again and when i tried to flash twrp through fastboot mode it say the device is locked cant change or erase the recovery what should i do please guide me

The only recovery that will flash on mine is 3.0.2-0. I've tried flashing through Fastboot. I've even tried to use the dd command for both 3.0.3-0 official and blu sparkz v41 and it gets stuck at the OnePlus logo.
Phone still boots into OOS just fine and 3.0.2-0 flashes through the old JMZ TWRP app just fine. It's just any other method that doesn't work.

The latest recoverys for new bootloader is 3.0.3, bluesparks 3.0.2-1 V41 or Sultans updated TWRP. 3.0.2 and under us for old bootloader.

After flashing recovery you have to boot right into it with fastboot command then swipe to allow modifications?

As stated above, all it does is hang at the OnePlus logo.
Also...
fastboot boot drive:\path\to\twrp-3.0.3-0-onyx.img

Ok sorry what I did was keep it simple. Reflash original stock recovery, flash 2.2.3 then flash 3.1.4 and boot. Just skip everything and reboot back to bootloader mode. Now you can flash latest TWRP and should boot latest ROMs without any issues.

2.2.3 flashed successfully. I already know 3.1.4 will work. I'll post again if your plan completely works.

...and I'm still getting the same errors after flashing 3.1.4 through stock recovery. o.0
I'm going to start from the earliest firmware available and flash progressively from there and see if that works.

[URGENT] Phone doesn't boot after switching from H2OS V2

While H2OS was loaded, I flashed TWRP. After that I rebooted to recovery, cleared all the essential things, flashed a ROM followed by a Gapps package. After that, when I chose reboot to system, the phone stays stuck at the OnePlus logo screen. I can't access the recovery either. I flashed 3 different versions of TWRP, but still couldn't boot to recovery. P.S.: Bootloader is unlocked
What can I do now?
UPDATE: BluSpark's modded TWRP works, but after flashing the ROM nothing boots

You should fastboot flash old OOS 2 stock recovery, then full OOS 2.2.2 Rom.
Then root and install offical TWRP (not BS V41).
Then install what you want (but not Oxygen or hydrogen on MM)

How to flash paranoid rom 6.0.2

Hello guys
I was on stock android and stock recovery oos 3.1.3. I tried to change recovery using fastboot so i tried so many recovries, but unable to flash anyone then i found twrp recovery by teamspark so i flashed it and successfully done, but problem with it is, i am not able toh flash paranoid rom and stock rom using this recovery and even the stock recovery is also not flashable now, just stuck on logo whenever i flash stock recovery. So which recovery i can use which can correctly flashable and i can flash paranoid rom by that successfully.
Thanks in advance.
Flash old stock recovery followed by any OOS 2.X.X firmware . Now you can proceed with PA. Note dont use any of the twrp's designed for mm bootloader.

First of all, you have to downgrade your bootloader. Then you can flash any recovery for the old bootloader.
Thanks i m done now

PA I believe is on the old bootloader still. So you would have to downgrade your bootloader by flashing LL stock recovery and 2.x.x OOS firmware. Not worth the hassle if you ask me.

actually when i root the phone , then it goes into bootloop, i didn`t backup my data so i lost my all data ,
after that i install paranoid then it stucks on boot logo , i tried it several times but none happens,
then i use adb push command ino twrp recovery(3.0.2) to copy cyanogenmod after that i flash it , it fails ,
then i flash cwm recovery then flash is succeded and currently running cm 13 ,
when i installed root checker it said your phone is partially rooted, when i enable root option in developer option then it said root verified.
But when i tried to flash other roms using twrp (3.0.3, 3.0.2) it stucks on boot logo.
Please help me

Right but if your downgrading your bootloader to flash PA you need to use old bootloader TWRP 3.0.2. So that being said easiest way is flash 2.2.3 with blusprk 3.0.2-2 TWRP then immediately after flash TWRP 3.0.2 image. Now re boot back into recovery and flash PA. I prefer flashing 2.2.3 with stock LL recovery less chance of issues. Then just fastboot flash old TWRP 3.0.2 and continue with PA.

Issues reinstallling Custom Recovery

Hello everyone, long time lurker here. I have used xda over the course of many years with many different devices, and I am extremely grateful to all of you!
I recently cam across an issue. So with my OnePlus X I had unlocked it, rooted it, installed TWRP and a custom ROM (6.x.x). I had that setup for a while, it worked well, and I enjoyed it. I decided to try to update to a 7.x rom, but that is when I had issues. Trying to install the rom through twrp didn't work, and I couldn't revert back to the old rom either. I tried to use the master unbrick thread to set it back to stock, and it worked. The problem here is the stock rom is very broken, things like the OPX home launcher simply freeze and crash. Trying to usethe guide on the oneplus website to unlock it all again to reinstall TWRP doesn't work. I can unlock it, but installing recovery is where it screws up.
So it says it installs, but then when I try to reboot recovery it has a DTB: not found...manually rebooting to recovery leaves a black screen with the oneplus square logo.
Any ideas how to fix this? I am so lost, but I love this phone!
Fastboot flash old stock recovery from OOS2 wipe data and cache install 2.2.3 followed by 3.1.4 then make sure your flashing latest TWRP 3.0.3 from there site. Now should be able to flash Nougat.

No because he needs to upgrade the bootloader first to have a TWRP 3.0.3 that works OK.

Flashing recovery - keeps reverting to stock after reboot

Hi peeps
New Pocophone owner here. I got my bootloader unlocked earlier today and now trying to flash the official TWRP 3.3.0.0 recovery from twrp.me, simply following the fastboot instructions on the device guide.
However every time I reboot the device, the recovery always reverts to the stock MIUI recovery?
What am I doing wrong here?
I just got the phone and have upgraded it to MIUI 10.3.6 as well. I am wanting to flash pixel experience onto it.
Do following, instead of flashing your recovery.
Use this method boot and flash Magisk. Reboot back to your system and install Flashify and install your choosen Recovery with it

in stock rom you need to flash magisk right after flashing twrp else it will get replaced by stock

What the post above says is correct. However, if you don't want Magisk, after flashing TWRP, reboot into recovery and then into system. You may retain TWRP. However, this doesn't work for everyone.
Hi all, I fixed the issue by completely wiping my phone via TWRP and clean flashing pixel experience ROM. After rebooting on pixel rom TWRP persists.
It appears that MIUI rom has something that keeps reverting it to stock MI-recovery.
If you are on MIUI and flashing TWRP, once the recovery is up for the first time, you need to head on to reboot>recovery again in order to overwrite MIUI stock recovery. So the whole process would be like this;
i) Fastboot flash recovery twrp.img (or whatever the name of the image)
ii) Fastboot boot recovery
iii) Once TWRP is up, Swipe to allow modification and then go to Reboot>Recovery and reboot into TWRP once more. That's it! You have just overwritten the stock recovery and are now on TWRP!! Now you can reboot to system and TWRP will remain on your device. There's no need to flash Magisk etc if you want just TWRP and nothing else.

Did you follow step 3? You can't boot into system right after twrp is up for the first time. You need to reboot into twrp twice before you boot into system. This is what I do whenever I flash twrp and it never failed me yet.

Yes, I even flashed the recovery image from within TWRP and rebooted to recovery again. Still didn't work.
Note this was on the new 10.3.6 stable MIUI release that got rolled out recently. Not sure if it has new detection or anything that rolls it back.
Anyway I have resolved my issue now all is good.
