Hey guys/girls in need of help :D

sorry if this is inappropriate to be here.
iv pretty new to xda and finding it very good.
i have a galaxy 3 i5800
and a x10 mini pro
the 5800 is very easy to install custom roms
BUT im finding it pretty hard to find a complete good rom for the x10.
im gone through other treads and topics and only found slades rom to work for me so far but not quite what im after,
so im hoping you could point me to a few roms that work well with the x10 pro.
many thanks Stu
(ps please move to the right place if needed}
There aren't any complete roms yet, the best you can do is install a froyo/gingerbread dev rom and report bugs so they can be fixed.
do you have a link to one you would use?
Here are some links but I wouldn't use any of them as my main OS yet as they still contain bugs.
I suggest you set your phone up how you like it, install xrecovery, backup your system then experiment with the new roms. You can always restore your backup to get the phone back to it's original state.

New Ace User..

Greetings all..
I just bought a SAM Ace.. i had a Htc Magic then a X10 mini and now i turned to SAM.. heard that it was a good machine.. so..
I've been using XDA to root, and install new roms to my previous phones..
But in this SAM, unfortunately i am a bit conserned.. So can any1 help me in this questions:
: I'm running Ginger 2.2.3 updated throug Kies
1 - My mobile is sim locked.. i can't use any other sim.. I already searched that is possible to (root) the phone and then install an apk that unlocks the sim lock.. has any1 tried this? is it safe?
2 - I'm a bit worried to (root) this phone, does any1 report any problem after with network, battery and general stability of the device?
3 - Is the best stable official rom at the moment the one i have now or is there a better one ? Though Kies i can't find the 2.2.4v u guys are talking about.. so .. This isn't really an official rom right?
4- Since i've got my phone from Vodafone, it has some operator aps that i don't really use and they are using needed space, is there a way to remove them somehow.. like.. instaling a official rom from elsewere, but still upgradable through Kies? Or do i really need to (root) the device? After rooted, can i still install a official 2.2.3 rom.. but.. without all the operator crap?
5 - There are a few custom roms as i can see, i used to use de Cyanogen in my X10 mini, but i had some issues with sending and receiving mms.. , at the moment.. is there any stable and fully operational roms ? including the mms solved problems..? cof cof.. and good battey usage time ?
6 - Sorry for any bad english.
Thank you !!
Welcome to the community!
For question 4,I have used 2.2.1 and 2.3.4.felt ok except the wifi died occasionally which was a documented problem.
For question 5,I am currently on cyanogen but its a rc version.I am quite happy with it as performance boosted.but it came at the price of battery life.haven't tried mms though

Try to use cyanogen for the rom.

1. No idea although I don't see why it wouldn't be safe.
2. Rooting is easy. Like everything else, be careful and follow instructions to the T and you'll have no problems.
3. Correct. There is no 2.3.4 update through Kies...I think. Plug your phone in and find out.
4. If you want to remove bloatware, root your device and use Root Unistaller. Alternatively, flash a new ROM.
5. There are two variants of CM7.1 at the moment. One was made by BehradGH the other by Grif_07. Both work wonderfully.
6. It wasn't that bad =]
EDIT: Welcome to the SGA forums =D

1.
You should really be cautious when trying to unlock your phone. A lot of people bricked their phone by doing this. Since I have no personal experience in this; all I can do is direct you to threads on XDA but I'm too lazy to look them up for you so I suggest you to use "search".
Thanks to those who answered..
Question for "jimbo.levy" ...
Can u tell me what rom are u using at this moment and how long the battery lasts?
Do you know if CM7 for ace supports mms?

I am using Icecream Sunday by Jusada. It's an ICS themed CM7.1 ROM but it has been stripped down to the bear minimum. Jusada initially made it as a foundation ROM for developers to then customize as they saw fit but it has become very popular amongst forum members as a day-to-day ROM. It is very stable and more importantly (for me) it is FAST!
Also, because it has been stripped down, I have noticed a lot better battery time.
Granted, the battery life on almost all Android phones is crap, but if you're looking to be more conservative with power and increased speed, use Icecream Sunday.
So to answer your question - I get about half a day's SOLID use from my battery.
As far as MMS goes, I am not sure. You'd have to ask one of the devs.
Hope that's helped

Welcome to XDA!
1) It can be quite tricky to unlock the Ace, and can brick/reset it. First check if it really is locked.
2) There's risk involved in rooting, but it's minimal - if you follow the instructions. There are pros and cons of rooting, but the pros outweigh the cons.
3) Kies sucks IMO, so you're better off upgrading with ODIN. Look in this section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1167.
4) The best way to remove the bloatware/crapware is by rooting and then uninstalling them, or by flashing a custom ROM.
5) There are a lot of stable ROMs available, take your pick: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194358, there's supposed to be an official Cyanogen for Ace(cooper) in the works, but if you can't wait that long, I recommend this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263292

[Q][ASAP] Root & Most Stable Rom

Hey guys...
I know it may seem a bit strange to post here since i own an HTC DS
but i am an old X10 user until i've lost it 1,5 year ago..
Anyway, i have this friend of mine who would like to have his phone
Rooted and run a new ROM on it.
Since i have much more experience in flashing and programming he
asked me to do it for him.
So you will be asking now, where is the problem in all these?
It has been a long time since i've changed phone and the rooting method
has changed i guess...
Can someone provide me an easy way to get rooted since it is NOT my phone
and i dont want to get in trouble?
PS. I've checked most of the roms in the forums, since i cant test them and etc,
Can someone tell wich is the most stable XperiaS looking ROM for x10 ?
Root using Flashtool, then install any ROM you like, i'd suggest you use Cobrato's MiUI or DonutHD or FeraLab, these three are the most stable in my own experience, i only installed these for quite a while, other members may help you with their opinions on other roms
good luck!
Most stable rom as used before is Oodie X prime MiUI, kernel based on developer (ooDie kernel) So its stable, smooth and fastest without any problem. Then i switch to Feralab V20 and using now stable , smooth without any FC. Use ThKernel 029 or ThKernal v12-4, both is very good for Feralab v20 ROM.
U should try
ahhh thank you guys but im looking for an XperiaS-themed ROM
is there any stable one? i've seen some in the development forum but,
i cant test them xD
I would undoubtly say DiXperia, I have used for quite a while, it has the Xperia S look and feel, it's stable, fast, a great one! you can't find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557455

Hi bud, think the only debloated NC5 available is the one you create yourself. For a minimal rom you might consider the AOSP C-rom here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2739968 team it up with LeanKernel v 3.6 AOSP build here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2488233 then toss in only the Google apps you want here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942 and that's about as lean and debloated as it gets!!!

Thanks Jim
Sup mate ?
But unlike most I like the look and feel.of touchwiz . The structure you suggested is aosp without touchwiz and probably without s pen features .
And then I love the drop downs in tw as well as the lock screen from samusng
I have tried using your threads to debloat but after a certain point just can't decide what to kill and what to keep
What say ?

All true, really no one has a bloatware list that gives an explanation for every file on the note 3. I have mine striped down pretty good, but I still keep a copy of a full stock rooted NC5 on my ext sd card, just in case I want something back. Then I have a copy of my striped down daily user on the ext sd card as well. It took me a couple of days of removing files then, see if any error or FC's show up if not make a backup. Then remove a couple more files and go through the process over again, till I have a backed up striped down NC5. The big problem comes in a couple of weeks with the release of Android L ( Lollipop ) ? Do we up grade and start the process all over again ? I seen a couple of leeks or suggestions as to what be in it but nothing for sure. Will it root ? How much Bloat ? Here we go again !!!

[Question] [SM-G313HN]

Sorry, my english isn't very good, but i'll try
Where i can find custom rom for Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 [SM-G313HN]?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/rom-nemoid-rom-v1-galaxy-sm-g313hz-t3007671 <- This rom will works on my phone?
Thank you for answer :good:
The only custom ROM right now is Cyanogenmod 11, but it is pretty unstable at this point and has some problems. It can be used as day to day ROM if you don't watch videos, use NFC and mind it rebooting every 1-7 days.. You can get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ace-4/development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-galaxy-trend-2-t3189325
