hi all,
I need help and here's my story.
I got Sony Xperia Neo L 3 weeks ago. it was running fine but suddenly it didn't turned up. I showed it to nearby general mobile repairing shop. 3 days later he gave my phone back but it was all chinese. when i turn it on some china unicom and chinese text logo appear before sony and xperia logo, same while turing off and most of the apps are in chinese even i set language to english. I complained him but he told that's all he can do and i have to pay him for this chinese sofware.
Then one of my friend told me that rooting it will solve the problem as he used to root friends tablets and phones so i ask him to help me. First he tried to update my phone through sony update service but chinese software was still there after updating. then he tried to root it and i was watching while he was doing it and there was lots of errors while running runme.bat. so he gave up.
Now my phone is kinda dead. it's not turning on. when i connect it to my pc it says usb device not recognized. only orange light keep blinking same happens while charging in wall socket. i've tried different ports, different pc, charged for whole night but nothing helps. now i couldn't update or root as it's not detected by pc. (there is no any sony service center in my region) i am having big trouble so it would be great help if anybody guide me what to do.
can't repaire because phone is not turning on. haven't rooted. no service center near by. totally sucked.
i am facing the same problem , any solution yet.????
Please help me ...

What I got from this is that he had already put in some custom firmware. You should've gone to the Exclusive Service Centre.
You must try updating it using SEUS again or try fishing stock firmware using Flashtool. This should help. Do give a feedback as to what happened next... Here to help!

There's nothing like a good or a comparably better ROM. It's all about personal favourites. There are different ROMs based on different parameters. It's totally your call. Either go for a performance based or a battery based ROM.
Happy Flashing!

Hi guys, i don't know how to solve a problem with my Sola. I read the recover soft-brick guide for xperia models but i can't solve it. I think i bricked.
When i try to turn on it's on Sony screen and there's nothing to do. I can use on flash mode and flash the kernel but the result is the same when i turn on. The led works like green in flash mode, or red when i finish the flash and the device is still connected. I have a locked bootloader, and all this happened when i wanted to restore a backup, i probably made a mistake: do a full wipe after that. I think that's is still in warranty, isnt' it? What can i do? There are some tips on the tutorial but i'm afraid to kill the battery or make other mistakes. Please help me guys.
And sorry for my bad english =(

Yes and flash is ok but when i turn on it's still on sony screen...i waited about 5 minutes. I tried with 6.1.1.B.1.54 and with 6.1.1.B.1.1.0 with same result. I know i have to wait after flash a stock firmware but i see it's too much time. Maybe because when i want to switch off i have to use hard reset (i mean with all 3 button). I don't know..thanks to reply in any case

In any case, if you don't solve the issue by yourself, your phone is still in warranty (just don't say to the reparation service that you played with flashtool )

Hello,
I tried to flash Lollipop from another Z2's Nandroid backup. But Only thing I got now is blinking red LED when I connect phone to charger or PC (Flashmode and fastboot dead).
All the tricks with buttons I already tried. And after that I dissasembled my Z2 to try pull out battery - nothing.
After that I found out, there is a Testpoint and when I ground it I can connect to PC as SOMC Flash Device but I don't have any SETool stuff and something like that.
I tried to use S1tool from 28.2.2015 but it still doesn't support MSM8974-AB only MSM8974.
Thanks for any advices.

No idea about the jtag thing but I think this is the test point for the Z2, I connected it to PC and all other points give no change, but this one turns the led off when grounded by touching the metal shields with a paper clip.
If I'm wrong then OP please correct me.
Also am patiently waiting for an update to S1 Tools for our d6503/2, there's plenty of hard bricks qwith unfortunately no solution unlike other Z flagships.
hard brick z2
yep i tested it also and the only change that i could get is just that point that u mentioned , was in city searching for some one to fix my phone he said hes gonna charge me 50 dollar to fix my phone without even opening my phone with heat ( already opened it : / ) , when i asked him whats this about and how could u fix it he said it s a new way that came for z2 and i could get ure boot back up again , hopefully i will go there in 2 or 3 days to see if his right , will let u know if i fixed the phone and hopefully i could ask him about the way that his doing it : )
This is testpoint that works for me.

ah ok

No, even two services couldn't fix it. Waiting now for new S1tool
Refresh
.
Don't know about Sony repair service, just tried some unofficial services and nothing. All I got is only flashing with testpoint but for this you need some flashing box like Octopus box or SETool. Also exists alternative - S1tool which is free but now works only with Z1 and older models.
refresh
how could restoring another nandroid or carbon rom cause a hard brick?
I don't know. It was 5.0 backup from another Z2 (same model) and i had 4.4.

I used my C5 with E5563_29.1.B.0.87_1296-9001_R4A firmware for 3 month until yesterday.
I rooted, have recovery installed and everything was just fine.
But It died when flashing E5563_29.1.B.0.101_1296-9001_R4A.ftf.
I used Flashtool 0.9.21.0 x64 and used xperifirm to download firmware
I have been flashed Sony devices for yearss and I didn't noticed anything wrong.
Battery was fine, Flashtool didn't report any errors for all downloading and flashing procedure.
But my C5 just hardbricked.
No flashmode, No fastboot, Charging animation and red led working but that's all.
When connect to PC it is recoginzed as "USB Serial Device (COM4)"
I can't find any possible way to recover hardbricked C5.
It is frustrating.

You don't need custom recovery for this mod to work, just replace the correct apk file and change the permissions to rw-r--r--

Your phone stuck on flashmode( most mediatek with non removable batts).. Just simply charge it overnight using your wall charger( it won't charge anyway). When you wake up hopefully it's alive again...

It clearly states on the flashtool download page and on here on the flashtool page/thread NOT to use flashtool to flash c4+c5 mediatek powered Xperia devices as this will result in a hard brick I.e. You now have a permanent paperweight no idea why it is only those two mediatek Xperias as the xa works fine with flashtool.

Alright mate, have you tried getting into recovery by pressing the Volume Down (-) button while plugging the phone into your computer? The little LED light in the upper left corner should light up indicating it is on flashmode. If not, I suspect it might be a hardbrick.
What programme did you use to get Marshmallow, Emma or Flashtool? If you used Flashtool you can not use the lastest version of it because it bricks the device. Every flashing must be done with 0.19.xx versions.

Hmm could be a hardbrick, but I can not see how an OTA update could hardbrick a phone unless it is modified
Is the bootloader unlocked? Do you have root? Is Xperia Theft Protection activated?
Plug the phone into a wall and let it charge overnight, then do the thing I told you to do before and come back.
