Took a gamble and used this app to change my build.prob since I had a tarp backup. It says to only use with a nexus device but I used it on my T-mobile LG V20 without any issues. Easy way to get Google Assistant on your phone without changing the build.prob manually. It didn't work at first but after I cleared the cache in my google app (as the app tells you to do) it started working. Keep in mind that if you use Google now you will lose all of your settings but worth it with Google Assistant.
Again, since it requires root. Use at your own risk.

This guy said he fixed it with "Found it was a setting under labs "Long-home for now instead of tap" had to turn it off."
Where is "Labs"? I went under Google Services> Search&Now and I have Google Assistant settings there. It's just like the hotkey doesn't work.
***I enabled labs and this option, then restarted again... still not workin.

I am using Nova Launcher and it's working for me
I didn't use the app
i manually added the lines in the build.prop for it to work
make sure not to have battery saving mode on when you try to use it

Did you have to flash zips? I don't understand how it gets the app.
I got rid of that app and edited the build.prop myself, same deal. Maybe I have to let it sit or something.

I downloaded the Velvet.apk from High on Android and wrote over the one that's already there.

I did that a couple times and rebooted afterwards. I also replaced the Velvet.apk with the one suggested. It still won't work, not sure why.
I just installed it. But have problem with 'Ok Google'
I have nova launcher and ok google dont work now.It worked before without assistant but after installation does not work. And in setting OK GOOGLE detection everythign is grayed ouy only While Driving can be switched. Anyone know what is wrong?!
My phone doesnt auto rotate anymore or rotate at all. Anyone else having this issue? Im trying to track down what caused the problem. Ive flash this, installed busybox and viper.

I did a restore with the get assistant app, rebooted and my rotation worked again. I then added assistant again using the app and auto rotate still works. Strange idk.

You can try removing your account from your device and then sign in again. I get this problem quite frequently on my Note , and Sgs2. I believe removing your account from any Android device requires you to format it.

Uninstall the updates of the Play store from "Manage Apps". Or replace your current "Vending.apk" from system/app with a 2.x version of market . Then everything should work. Don't worry, it will be updated to Play Store in few minutes.
go into settings select apps then look for market select it n clear data, iftht still dont work u can just download the file apk from the internet

I'm running CM10.1 I lost most of my icons. However the apps are still there becuase I can see them in the "Manage Apps" .
I have camera, messaging, internet, gallery, settings. Nothing else... Any ideas how to get them back?

What he means is to use a different program as your homescreen. Like apex launcher which you can find on the play store. However your problem actually is that when you installed CM10.1 all your apps where on your internal sdcard and CM10.1 defaults to your external if you have one. You have to change some line in the build.prop to sdcard0 instead of sdcard1. I'll go into more statistics later but have to work right now.

i installed the 'Go Luancher EX' and now the button in the play store says installed (instead of install). But I cannot find it. And I still have no icons.Theonly way I can find some apps (not all), is to use the google search at the top of the home screen.

When you managed apps, did you move any apps to the SD card?

a couple of days later... I noticed that the battery was drainin quckly and asked for help in the forum. They said to use manage apps.So I did that to disable some apps and then it happened.But since then I re-enabled them and rebooted and still have never go ttem back.

When you disable an app, it no longer shows up on your homescreen, and you can only do that for system apps or apps flashed in the ROM you installed. Is there any other information as I am trying to diagnose your problem

Any way to turn one of those back on? I guess buy disabling it then it does not appear in the "ALL" section of the manage apps? Oups
I can go into the file manager and navigate to the SD card. I find the CM 10.1 zip file but when I click on it to reinstall it says "There is no application registered to handle the type of file selected". I guess I used to have something that could install directly from a zip file....
I don't mind reinstalling cm10.1 if that would fix it... but how?

Hi,
So Galaxy S5 has built in heart rate monitor which works oké!
But you need to use it with S-health.
Apps like instant hearth rate use the camera of the galaxy S5 and then the led flash isn't sufficient. The red led doesn't even work with other apps.
Is there a app that can use the monitor at the same way as S-health does?
So I can freeze or uninstall S-health.

Thanks, but that uses the "normal" camera as well.
So placing finger over the monitor isn't doing anything. You have to place finger over the camera lens.
Any other tips?

build prop editor needs to be granted root access. If not use any root explorer app (again must be granted root access) then go to /system and edit with build.prop from there. Save and reboot.
do you guys get stock video being "stopped" as well? because i managed to fix s health but video has the same error
To get s-health working again: follow the steps ( ro.securestorage.support=false )
reboot
deleta s-heatlh data from application manager
delete s-health account if it exists
re-confirm your samsung account and make sure it can sync
Re-install s-health if needed
Go to accounts and add s-health account and link with samsung account.
Start s-health

I wanted to post this because I search several times and never found any hits but randomly found this APK somewhere that works just fine activating Galaxy Labs on the AT&T model S7. Go to advanced features after install and you should see Galaxy labs. This allows you to disable the app drawer. So it is like an iPhone home screen expect you have widgets also! No root required.

You need to click the small text on the warning page that says "install anyway (unsafe)" Or something similar to that.
Clicking OK, is basically saying you don't want to proceed.
why did you manually sign it ?

I downloaded the .TTF and then there is an option to convert that in the app. Go to editor and then at the bottom right click generate font. it is here that you select your ttf

To apply it you have to go to the themes app that came with the phone. Them click on the tab that says "me" on the bottom right, then click customize and click on text and your downloaded font should be in there.

Mine doesn't show it even tho I am signed in to Huawei ID, please confirm if you're in a region other than the US because that may be why it's only working certain people

I'm in the UK. But did you click on the tab that says Me on the bottom right of the themes home screen or click on customize whatever you downloaded with the other themes manager should show up. Maybe you could reboot or close the stock themes app and reopen it so it can refresh. I didn't have to reboot though.

Oh no thats unfortunate. What about sideloading the latest apk? For some reason I can't post any files with this xda app for a while now. Says I don't have persission and I've been a member for nearly 10 years with no problems. Else I'd post it here for you. Wonder If a moderator could check that out for me?

Have you tried uninstalling the one you have installed then downloading the newest version apk 81.1.2 from googling it. Then seeing if it installs.
