I'm tired, I'm done. Seems like a lot of people complains about the same, but no one has moved a finger to find a solution, and here comes the push.
I am looking for a dev who can finally remove$$$$ it/turn it off/ delete/send to mars/throw in the deep sea that F***ING camera post processing filter/"feature". :fingers-crossed:

Use cameringo+ o cameringo lite app, where front the camera doesn't post process a lot. But in some situations is with a lot of noise (expecially in dark scenes). But in Light situations it is optimal try it and tell me... or Just unlock the bootloader.

Yes, I've done that 3 days ago, and sure works, but the effect is still there, just not that heavy.

I'll try that app. Just unlocked bootloader and helped a lot, but it's still there, just soften than before.

I have a problem with the camera, meaning that as soon as I open the application I hear a noise (two shots) and if I look at the camera in the meantime, I see that the sensor moves. What can I do?

I dont think that is a Problem had that clicking to on other phones its the lens that focuses, clicking 2 times when you aktivate the camera and when you switch
to Video mode,
The problem with the Cam for me is the real bad Focus, its almost imposible to scan barcodes etc. with google googles , etc..
im on newst Cam Firmware !
got 2 with this camera noise and 3 without.
no clue if it's okay ? why different... other lenses ?

Did you update through Samsung apps on your phone?
If not, you might have installed a wrong version that doesn't match up with the cam hardware in your phone.
I'm not sure if this a valid reason, but there are some different cams out there which need different firmware versions

this is mostly because there are at least 3 different cam manufacturers, you can see this clearly because of their different firmware versions (which is of course vendor specific)!

ya, that clicking is part of your problem, it is sitting to far out and can't go back. It shouldn't smack the housing and make clicking noises. I have this issue to, might send it it to be fixed or wait for replacement parts to become available.

Me and a buddy of mine both bought the 9100 together of the same shlef. Mine does the clicking sound and his doesn't. But my problem is worst here because it seems that no photo outside of 20cm range comes out in focus.
I am just unable to take a decent photo of anything further than this.
Could a FW fix solve this? how do i know what is my cam mode is? and which FW belongs to it?

I and 4 of my friends have the phone One with litening Rom1.2 the others all have stock one of them made yesterday the firmware update the other 2 not
and we all have the clicking sound !!
can it be that so many devices have this defective cam,
and non of us coud get a good focus on close distances 10 - 15 cm
I just caled samsung support Austria and they sayd the clicking is normal !
I also have the clicking from the beginning and i havent experienced any Problems. Neither with Barcodes nor with photos. But to be sure someone should test the exact same scenes with 2 devices and post the results.
I dont really remember but i think the clicking just started after the Camera Firmware Update.

It looks like the clicking is a symptom, and what I think it means is that the lens is not sitting in its right position.
I assume that the further the lens sits from its intended position, the worst the focus will be.
All in all, if the lens sits pretty close to its intended position then the photos will come out good even though you hear clicking.
On the other hand, other people might be less lucky and the lens position will be totally off and so will not be able to take decent photos at all...
This is of course my theorem, not my knowledgeable absolute...
It's funny how the clicking of the camera is ALWAYS an issue with every new phone for some people. Many phones have it (not only the SGS2) and it's normal. Some people might have problems with the camera and the focus, but it has nothing to do with the clicking sound. It's just the camera's initialization.

I think the camera flash is way too strong on the SGSII. Every photo I do with it make people close their eyes (I do it too) which is a pain is the ass.
I searched before for this problem and found several threads from 2011 like this one but no apparent solution.
Since then, is there a way/an app that can fix this ? I'm running cm-10.1

I don't know of any solution that would help you, I only know that most phone cameras have that kind of problem. My hint is turn off the flash and try making the pictures with minimum exposure in party or candlelight mode. Normally pictures with flash suck anyways ^^ so try working without it. :good:

HI, forget the age of launch of this phone, he can compete with the actual flashgrips easy so...age are nothing!! I have this phone and i have to say: old or not, im in love with it every day i use it!
And reply to your answers:
1. This is not a camera phone, so, for pictures in low light is very poor yes but in outside with sun and etc is a good camera, and have infinite apps for camera will optimize the quality, not to complain about (my experience).
2. Battery life if you understand what to do nicely you get 2/3 days of it, but if you root it, get clock down of processor for day use not too much of game, you get +5 days on it! (i have!!)
3. Screen is the most perfect thing on this smartphone, is gorgerous, if you take a glass screen protector on front and back and carry it only in your jacket pocket on a bag it doesnt brick or crack...only crack if you carry on your jeans! (i already have advertise some users about that. USE ONLY IN JACKET OR IN BAG!)
4. Custom ROM's im not too much inside that world because the stock rom is perfect to me, i did some customization only in visual, after root removed some apps to not drain battery with non useful apps and is OK for me: 41260 on ANTUTU!
if you have more questions im here to reply them! No doubt you dont find better phone for 250/270$ than that! really...i paid 275€ for mine 2 months ago and is a very bad as$ phone!

if you drop it into the ground as far as i know depending of the size of fall it can survive or it can brick the screen...all depends of luck!
Its more easy to brick if they fall because is a bigger phone...you have to carrying it with more precaution.

i have this issue, everytime i make a call, once i press the call button, screen goes black, and i need to press the main button in the back to get it back, but sometimes it stay black and i can t hangup wich is a pain.

actually it s not a full screen protection, it s the film that was on the screen when i bought it.
light sensor works fine
I got mine fixed by calibrating the motion sensor in display settings.

Sounds like your proximity sensor is covered up or not working. Do you have a screen protector or anything on the phone which might interfere with it? If so maybe remove it and retry. Also I'm sure you could find an app that would check it.

The Software is buggy and LG is not doing anything about it . I tweeted to them so many times and i thought HTC was bad.. they were amazing .. my first and last LG device .. however i am just confirming its not always proximity sensor issue .. Its the buggy software implementation.

It's a software bug... Rebooting the phone fixed the problem， but then it starts acting the same way after few calls.

You could try( if you haven't already), wiping your sensors. They sometimes get dirty & don't work properly.
I have same issue and have no protectors or covers or nothing just the stock phone. I think it's got to be some stupid software issue and it is very irritating. Went from one ridiculous phone into another headache...

Drama much? The phone has been out for barely more than a month... and not every phone is having this issue.
Process: Collect as many bug reports as possible, recreate and fix issues, release a patch.
LG is not going to release a patch just for your particular problem because you tweeted really hard.

I tweeted then wrt their update roadmap and yes the phone should not be out in the first place if it has such obvious bugs you are clearly not aware how responsible companies work. I rest my case. Well people value their money and thats why when they feel they have inferior product the will complain. Like micro scratches on the screen, bleed on second screen, back peeling off .. and if you dont have this issue does not mean these issues dont matter and it also means serious quality control issues at LG. You for one needs to get over yourself and respect other people's problems, i have none of the above problems except the software bugs, i still feel compassionate towards fellow community members who might have recieved inferior quality devices. I clearly understand your personality type, "I dont care if the whole world goes to hell if i dont have a problem i am good." You should try to be less selfish and i am sure i am not the first one in your life to call you selfish. Think about why those people think you are selfish.

All u need to do is adjust the timeout time [emoji6]
Search within settings for "timeout"
Or go to Display settings

Only real difference I've found so far is the always on backlight and the allways on screen, though if you have a case that turns screen on/off it kills that function...
Haven't made any calls so can't comment on that.
The update is around 200mb... It's not Android 7...

It would have been nice if there was also an always off for the backlight. I guess they skipped my request I can't imagine someone would want the backlight keys on all the time. To each their own I guess. They said there were camera improvements, but I haven't tested that out yet.

The Always On back light for the keys for me is quite useful when operating the phone in the dark. It it the same as a computer keyboard with back light. I'm glad they added this feature, otherwise it's as good as not having any back light at all for the keys.
I also see a definite improvement in the audio quality. Earlier while playing tracks with silence, there was a slight hissing sound (using audiophile headphones) and I had reported this to Asus. I checked this now with a few tracks and it seems like this is fixed. I hear absolutely no hissing and the audio is crisp and clear even at high volumes. !

That's interesting. At night is when the backlight annoys me. I'd prefer they don't ligh up. Glad they made someone happy though. I'll still wait and hope for an always off feature.

Definitely put in your requests through email and at the zentalk forum. Could be coincidence, but I almost feel like the 'always on backlit' was done at a specific person's request (seen here) because it was early on and they were so vocal on the forum for this issue. Also the forum's audience isn't that big - so more of a chance to be heard.
