Lost recovery when phone was at 100% storage. - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I think that my recovery got deleted because my phone was at 100% storage at one point. Apps started crashing also.
I don't see the greed led light to let you know u can enter recovery at boot up.
Is it possible to restore the recovery? I also can't go into the stock recovery or download mode or anything like that.
Running mm 6.0.1

Re-install TWRP as usual via fastboot if you really want to.

Help Saving Data?

Hoping someone can tell me how to save my data. I was running custom recovery TWRP and switched to CWM after the phone would randomly hang on reboots. After flashing back now in TWRP I couldn't get anything to work. Everything would fail. Long story short I have now did the ODIN back with the odin file that doesn't wipe data. Problem is the phone just hangs at Samsung splash screen. I can get to stock recovery and I can get into ODIN, I feel like if I wipe my device it will be back up and running. There anyway to get my daughters pics off the phone before wiping. thanks in advance and I feel like I already know that there is no way but was holding out hope....
If there is some way for you to get a custom recovery back, which I believe there is if you have the old ME5 through ODIN, you should be able to mount USB storage from Recovery and transfer them to a computer

LG Realm Dead or not?

I went to install a custom rom for my lg realm, and i couldnt find any so i found a "unofficial" recovery for twrp and it worked, but then i wanted to factory reset my phone so i could make a backup, and when i wiped it, it worked the files did reset, but twrp wouldnt reconize it as a os or rooted, and when i clicked install supersu it didnt, it froze in a bootloop, so i tryed a diffrent recovery than twrp, something that starts with K and that totaly broke, now i cant boot into my OS and my recovery doesnt load, when i load recovery it restarts to bootloop, and cause i cant get into recovery i cant use adb or fastboot, i dont know what to do.
i just want my phone to work
Well what happened was that twrp recovery did just what you told it to do. It made a factory reset which is without an os. Unlike the oem factory reset that only wipes personal data.
I would use a Linux box to get your device to download/bootloader mode (might take a bit of research to find a tut.) then flash a stock image.

Sorry for the late responce, but (i think) it reset the os like it should, but because it didnt have a root the twrp couldnt boot into it, and when trying to install supersu itself couldnt, and broke the OS, atleast thats what i think, also just read the 2nd half, is download/bootloader mode diffrent than recovery mode? cause i cant get into Power + Vol down anymore
Oh my god
Ok, i went into download mode, lg mobile software tool detectred it, and set it as a com3 driver, and odin didnt see it, then i manualy set it to use ADB, both normal and compisite and bootloader mode with google usb drivers, the pc saw it, but still odin didnt see it, i dont know what to use, but it seems like this could work
Help?
Can anyone help? still broken

Can't get TWRP to boot on LG Stylo 3 plus

I had my phone rooted with SuperSU. Decided that I wanted to use Magisk for the hide root features. Re-Flashed my phone to Stock Firmware, then checked if TWRP was still installed. It wasn't so I flashed it with ADB said that it flashed but I can not boot into it. When I go into recovery it boots to factory recovery.
I've tried erasing the the recovery and re-flashing with TWRP through ADB still boots to factory.
I have my bootloadrer unlocked from with I rooted the first time. Under Developer option it's Greyed out in the On position. Oh and USB Debugging is on.
Any help will be appreciated.

If you can boot your phone into system, download flashify. I had similar problem recently. Flashify helped me flash twrp into my phone & I was able to get into recovery with no problem. Also download a copy of twrp into o your phone.
PS: did you try to flash with the fastboot command? I've always had issues when I try to do anything with adb on this phone.

Hopefully you got this fixed dalready but I'm pretty sure after flashing twrp you are just rebooting without removing battery to power down, I had the same problem when I didn't remove batt. then put back in and boot to recovery that way. I guess the stock system will replace twrp if it gets booted into os before you boot into recovery.. Hope this helps.
Its the white screen throwing you off right click yes on both continue to hold voulme down and power then it will boot to twrp. Any it will not i repeat it will not wipe your data even thow you chose yes on white screen, hope this helps.
I'm in the same position as the OP, Keaso.
Bootloader unlocked, loaded custom recovery through fastboot, battery removed, but when I boot into recovery, I get the stock recovery, white screen, if I select yes and yes, it goes back to the factory white screen. And contrary to what 420bud420 posted, it DOES I repeat it DOES wipe your data.
This does not seem like an uncommon glitch with this phone, any help appreciated.

You may have to LG UP and start over, also you can try one of the stock based roms.

that's the important part, I don't really know how much the t-mobile models differ from the H930 ones
but there should be fastboot ? download mode ? "factory reset" functionality (via button dance botting into TWRP) ?

You might have done what I did which is flash twrp.img in recovery.. it won't go back to initial password screen. I did that and had the same issues.. I recently did it.. now it only restores backups which is how I got lineage or other rooms back.. after wiping the system partition, it also only flashes stock debloated room, but anything else I flash crash system partition.. I'm going to start over but with treble recovery in root process and just avoid messing with it..

Did you restores the recovery as well? I did that which is suspect source of the problem number 2.. even flashing magisk crash my system partition.. but not the magisk in the stock room, probably cause it's built in.. or any restores.. either way I'm going to start over.. not touching recovery after root & not backing up recovery partition to confirm a few things.. can you flash debloated rom after formatting system partition? Aroma gapps don't work for me but other gapps does.. I found out the hard way cause I didn't see any information on it in the threads.. I read it's a common issue with TWRP recovery on multiple devices..

I had that once when i tried to flash the aroma gapps for pie ?
that kinda ****ed up TWRP, a force reset (vol- + power) did the job for me, as all the reboot/shutdown options in TWRP didnt wanna work.

Exactly what happens to me try the aroma installer from gapps project and everything went down hill now I flashed the stock one they have.
How can I delete Google apps installed by gapps without making other Google apps crash
Did you not have a backup of your rom using twrp before you made the change? Isn't that the whole point of having twrp and a phone with SD card? Always backup your whole phone before making a change. It has saved my phone many times.

Yes I had a back up but it was twrp acting up by not being able to boot.
My phone was just booting back to twrp even when pressing power off some how by finally powering off the device (letting it discharge all the way) that was the only thing that fix it me twrp started working fine after that
My twrp has been acting funny/unpredictable. Or I am not doing something right. Mostly has to do with the restore function. I generally have two separate roms backed up in restore. But, lately, I will see only one listed. When I get back to the phone and check in my root manager, I will see them both listed. And then later, it (Rom) "might or might not" return to the restore function area.
But, lately it seems that when I restore the system, I can not open it up in the lock screen (does not recognize the pin). I have to turn the phone off, then use the vol down and power button to get back into twrp. Luckily, I have a couple of roms downloaded in the install section which then does let me flash and reboot, but I have to start new/over.
I don't know if reflashing twrp in recovery will help or not (have never done it).
I'm afraid one of these times I will some how get locked out or not be able to flash a good rom.

when it doesnt recognize your pin, go (in twrp file manager) to /data/system/ and delete the locksettings.db(-sh/-wal) files...
I think that was the path, you can google that too ^^
Thx, SGCMarkus, I did delete just the one db only file. It did away with the pin unlock code on reboot (but I did not do a restore, just a reboot back into my system), so I assume it will work. I will try it when I have time. I think that deletion has to be done everytime in twrp, because the line does reappear the next time I booted back into twrp?
Thx.

Phone stuck in Download Mode, tried to flash a stock firmware but didn't work

Yesterday I wanted to unroot my phone and I had the bright idea of putting it in Download Mode. I tried to reboot (volume down+power button) but it always go back to Download mode do not turn off target. So I tried to reboot it and as soon as the screen became black, I pressed volume up+power button+home, and I got into TWRP. Tried a factory reset from there (I don't care about the files inside of it) but still nothing changed.
So today I installed a stock firmware and I tried to flash it with Odin, but everytime it stopped and it never finished. Is it possible to flash the stock firmware with TWRP, since it's the only thing I can do with my phone right now? If so, how? If not, any method to flash a stock firmware?
I'm desperate, I'd like to just unroot my phone and do a factory reset on it... pls help.
P.s. My phone is a Samsung J5-2017, aka SM-J530F

Hi there
Answer some questions plz
Did you tried to flash custom ROM?
Does your internal storage shows at TWRP?
Did you tried to reboot to system from TWRP?
Did you tried to flash custom ROM? My phone was already rooted (even if one month ago it started having problems and it said "Not properly rooted" ergo I want to unroot it completely), but today I only tried to flash the stock firmware, not a custom one (sorry if that doesn't answer your question, i'm a total noob)
Does your internal storage shows at TWRP? Right now in my internal storage I only see TWRP and two empty folders (music and playlists)
Did you tried to reboot to system from TWRP? With reboot you mean restart my phone? If so, yes, I did. If with reboot you mean go on TWRP>Reboot>System/Power Off/Recovery/Download, also yes I tried all of them but still stuck.
