Development Release Notes...
Thread CLOSED. Builds are all broken, no updates EVER. No chance of being fixed.
A. you HAVE TO link your source, legally and according to xda rules.
B. this is not an original rom, and does not go into the n5 original development section. this is cm, not your own personal development.
C. you dont even thank the people who develop the rom, very disrespectful.
D. and there is a legal reason why gapps arent included in custom roms, lkegally you are not allowed to include them if you are distributing your rom. which is what you are doing. for personal use, its allowed, but when you are sharing your rom with the gapps, that is against the law since you do not have a license.

a cm based rom doesnt belong in original dev, its cm, no matter what you did to it. you using a different developed rom is still not your work, it belongs in n5 android development. and credit needs to go in the op as well, not just in the rom. in the rom itself, credit isnt even needed.

That's interesting.
Yeah this thread will be closed and links will be removed. Sorry dude. You have to exclude gapps for a starter.
Good luck. Cheers ?
Gapps aren't included for the same reason with CM because Google told them to take it out. And unless code optimizations come from you it is essentially a kanging of someone else's work...which is fine when you give credit. But make sure you respect everyone, and the GPL. If the kernel is custom (not the one included with CM), make sure to include a link in OP to kernel on git with your sources and commits.
I have removed Gapps ok. My bad. I got it figured out, switched toolchains, and some other cleanup. Now this is totally legit I think
I will have the new ROM uploaded sometime tomorrow with a separated Aroma Gapps. If I can still at least do that.

So...how the things are going on here???
i was informed by an xda mod gapps can be included
There is nothing wrong with including gapps..it is only the official CM team that got a C&D from Google...it is not enforced by XDA anyway.

Anyone know anything about Linaro? I could sure use some help to get it to do kernel optimizations and stuff. Just have had no luck in my attempts.

I'm Not sure... First Reboot? Did you flash gapps? Dirty or Clean? I need more details to attempt to fix the issue. I'd like a recovery log, and the Aroma log as well, That way I have everything I need to get this corrected ASAP

It seems i had horrible luck uploading that day. I've had to reupload everything for every other ROM so I will jus re upload this one too
I do clean install with AROMA without gapps ...
Stuck at Google logo with unlocked key at the bottom. :silly:
I'm not sure, I might be missing something. I think I need to find the vendor files or something
Guys I cant download any game which contains an obb file..or basically large games you can say. Download starts well, goes on well but 3-4 seconds after I swipe away the play app from recents, download fails with error 905. It never used to happen before. If I keep play on the top of the screen, download goes well. I have tried latest play and also tried several older versions dating back to 2nd may releases but nothing works.
I am on CM12.1 4th august nightly. Googling hardly helped, none of the solutions work and there are no references to play error codes anywhere so only God knows what wrong.
A Gapps problem!!! Which gapps do you use?
I would recommend installing a different version, also updating to the latest build of CM12.1(if u haven't migrated to AOSP yet ). Maybe these can solve ur problem...
Good luck bro.

Im using slim zero gapps. Which gapps is the best? If I get a new package, how do I remove old gapps before flashing the new one? I guess it'll create conflicts if I simply flash over the old one.

I personally prefer TK Gapps, as it offers most flexibility.
And no, u cannot install a different gapps package over another... So, i think clean install is the only way out...
According to many of my friends, Slim Gapps creates some problems. I cannot tell it personally as I haven't used them.

Did everything. Wipe and all, flashed tk. Still same error 905. I'm pissed off.. I missed KK days.. never faced such $hit on KK. I'm with LP only because I love material design and LP animations and hate holo now. Otherwise I would have been on KK by now :/

Hi,
(If I am posting at wrong place, I will remove.)
I am pretty confused right now, is it alright to include gapps directly to ROM?
Referencing to this: https://github.com/opengapps/aosp_build , It seems like ROM developer could include gapps in their rom, but as some of devs know this, CM(Lineage now) team was told to remove gapps on their build.
so, If I'm building Lineage(CM)-Based rom-project, is it alright to include gapps? or not?
(https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2016632) confused this thread too.
You're not supposed to include them. Just link to Open Gapps and save yourself the time and effort.
Oh I see, Some of pixel users having gapps problem, so..
anyway, thanks for answering!
Hey, guys! Well, most of you guys download different ROMs from XDA and also download GApps with it. I always wondered what variant of GApps people downloads the most. Personally, I don't like to have lots of apps installed on my phone so I always choose the Nano or Pico variant. Some of the people also download TBO GApps.
So, what variant of GApss you prefer to download and why?
Aroma, mainly because I can get pixel launcher as a system app and get all the Google apps I need at once.
Hi, So i am new to the whole rooting thing i have a Samsung Galaxy J530F and i want to make the UI look better and i have looked everywhere online and tried downloading substratum but that is useless because you have to pay for it.
Can anyone please tell me how to get themes?
I recommended Substratum
They will use this
Nougat (RRO): Requires root, exposures unsupported, not all themes compatible
as the theme engine!
ALWAYS PREPARED SUBSTRATUM RECOVERY.ZIP Incase you got bootloop!
Just flash substratum recovery (aka remove overlay & etc).zip in TWRP!

Hi thanks for your reply,
Is there a way to get substratum for free? I have looked here on XDA and elsewhere on the internet but can't seem to find it, i install the normal substratum App from the playstore but it then asks me to pay for it.
