Xperia M4 (E2306) RAM and blue screen problem - Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

Since last week my E2306 had problems with wifi, after restarting my phone started to get system halts, no wifi detection, constant reboot. I upgraded to Android 6.0.1 and did software repair thru PC Companion with no success, things just got worse: blue screens, constant reboots and halts, 883 MB in RAM detected.
I think is hardware related, but I'm not sure. Unfortunately it's out of warranty (I've had it for 1 year and a month)
Is there a solution known for this scenario?

For now there is no fix for this problem, on sony forum they say that the "devs" are working on a fix (already passed 3 months) , but everyone thinks that is a hardware failure, i disassembled my m4 and hit with my finger the processor cover, the blue screens are gone, using the phone for about 1 month without blue screen, but the memory is still 883mb

this is god damn serious no hope for you, you have to send it to sony

[Q] Xperia mini pro screen remains black

Hellow everybody! 4 days ago I got the screen I ordered from ebay and I have a big problem! I installed the screen on the phone, and the phone was booting up, the touch screen worked I could sense the lock screen when I touched it but nothing! Also the phone was burning! after noumerous tries , the screen finally worked the next day! But one day after , it had the same problem! Now the screen is black since two days ago! Any help! I tried repairing with pc companion, but the screen still remains black!!
Since you installed it yourself, you maybe made a mistake during install, something wrong got connected or something.
You said, that phone heated up. Some connections could have melted or even some chips.
xperia mini pro
The phone worked for a day before repairing. And it didnt worked for two days berfore repair, after it had worked!!
Does it work now or not?
Yes it works , the touch screen works i can feel it by sliding the lock button.
But it remains black, i heard sound about the battery. so the phone works but the screen remains black.
Seems like connection issue between mainboard and the screen. You mentioned getting warm - could have been too hot for the connections.

No I've trying installing the screen many times , but the heat was coming from a single part of the motherboard , i opened the phoned and touched it! It was burnig hot! Now there is no heat , the phone boots up, i can sense the lock sliding when I move it (vibration) but i cant see anything!!! It worked for day perfect! The first morning , heated for some time , but it work after ten minutes for a whole day with no problem! the next day i went to the cafe of the village and connected to the internet by wi-fi connection, when I left, the problem started again ! [Q] Xperia Ray - Black screen after stand by...

Hi, first sorry for my english, I hope that it will be clear enough to understand my problem...
My Xperia Ray, updated to ICS, display a black screen (with backlight) when waking up after a stand by. I have to wait for undertermined time to have something on the screen, sometimes I remove the battery and boot the phone to be able to use it.
I updated it to last 4.0.4 ICS thinking it will resolve the issue, but it has not.
I can still use the phone when connected to MyPhone Explorer with the phone keypad, while the mobile's screen is black the MPE windows shows me the "normal" mobile screen. Everythings else works normally.
I'm afraid to give it to customer service, it was a SFR branded phone and I flashed it with a generic firmware.
Locked bootloader, sfr gave me unlock code for sim cards, lost my root with last upadte too.
Any help ?
Did it also occur on Gingerbread firmware?
Didn't try with GB, it happened when on ICS .562, SEUS update to .431 didn't fix the problem.
I have the same problem with my Xperia Ray.
It already happened on GB and now also on ICS.
The screen stays black if you try to wake it up after standby (doesn't matter if power button or home button ).
This happens around 80% of the time.
The only things that help are: Waiting a few minutes, taking out the battery, or hitting the power button like crazy and eventually the screen will show up again after around 10 times on and off.
I brought my phone to the service center of the shop 3 times and every time they tell me they won't repair or switch it because the hardware looked fine in their opinion (they don't switch it on there, the one time I showed them the switched on phone with the error, they told me they could see the problem but as long as nothing inside is broken 'it's not their problem' . I told my lawyer and now he is trying to get me a replace phone.
The problem even comes right after you factory reset so I don't think it's an app.
It happens without the sd card in.
I had an different homescreen launcher installed around the time it first happened, but I removed it and it still happened and I factory reseted and it still happened. So I think it has nothing to do with that?
I tried software repair with the SE Update Service and it told me everything was alright.
Does someone around here have an idea what could be the cause?
I brought it to SFR customer service (here in france) 2 time, the 2 time they just downgrade it to GB, diagnostic was "update problem". They didn't take in consideration what I told them.
One of the shop employee told me that the third time normally they have to replace it by another one. If they don't want to change it I think I'll mess up their shop...
This even happens on Xperia Mini
when ever i try to wake it up by pressing Home button or Power button
it takes about 3-5 seconds to wakeup
it should be instant isn't it?
I also experienced 2 times that even pressing
all the buttons doesn't wakes up the screen
but only back light, then i have to restart the
phone by removing the battery.:crying:
Me too !
I have tha same problem !! I can't take it esay..It's bad thing in my Idea! very disgusting :crying:
I've got the same delays on my Lww, sometimes my phone doesn't wake up at all, and sometimes it takes several seconds. I haven't found any solution for it, but it seems to be a Sony-specific problem.
Sent from my Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app
I have also the same problem from some days
tried to reset all with flashtool with no luck
the problem is also during kernel loading, tried different kernel, logo and cw doesn't appear 90%times
if someone is able to read in logcat file I have attached one here
thanks for any help
me also
i also have the same problem with my xperia x10
bad news for all of us.....

I turned the sound for messages and phone calls back on. On 'silent' the phone just vibrated.
It hasnt fixed the problem of the black screen completely, but it is happening a lot less for me.
Finally I brought my Xperia Ray to the shop where I got it for the third time.
I bought it 159 Euros in december 2011 (plus Sony gave me 50E back) and they refunded 270 Euro in november 2012 !
Not exactly a refund because I had to choose another mobile, so I took the Xperia T which was 430euro, so I had to pay 160 E for the XT.
Good deal for replacement of a one year old mobile ! Only problem is that I can't unlock the BL.
It is a strange hardware problem since the screen can eventually be turned back on, so maybe it is something in the firmware that is screwed up and doesn't get completely fixed by SUS. If I were you guys I would try this fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1492805
It may not work, but it is better than throwing your Ray in the trash.
I have the same problem. My phone (xperia ray) after standby or after reboot has black screen with backlight. At first waiting for couple of seconds and trying to wakelock would solve the problem, after few weeks to wake up my phone I needed it to reboot (pulling out the battery). Now I need few reboots to start the device with screen on.
I found workarounds like Llama combined with Nightclock (both from Google Play) for the screen never goes off, but this eats battery and also sometimes the screen would go off. I don't believe its a hardware problem because with this workaround the phone is usable few days (until Llama delay the "events").
Found a way to make a logcat from starting the device. Two are for unsuccessful startups (black screen with backlight) and one for successful (screen on).
I think the problem is in the kernel for not loading drivers, but someone who knows to read logcat will tell us/me for sure. I can't flash new kernel because the phone is with Bootloader locked (Bootloader unlock allowed: NO).
Kernel version is 2.6.32.9-perf
Stock Rom 4.1.B.0.587
rooted
PS. Sorry for my english its not my native language.
Just to add one or two more informations: even with black screen and backlight the phone is usable, like I can answer on calls, it vibrates when I slide to unlock... I also thought the problem is in proximity sensor, but if it was that case the touchscreen would be locked.
If you fully discharge the battery and after switch on,it start normally?

I never tried full discharge of battery. I will try that and post the result.

Xperia Neo V Phone Screen

I'm having problems with my phone. My warranty is already over btw. My phone is having a black screen, but the touchscreen works. The rest of the phone works. Vibration, keypad buttons etc. I disassembled my phone, removing the front screen (I think its the digitizer/touchscreen) with the connection. Without the front screen, the phone display will light up and I'm able to see everything, but I cannot touch or move anything on that display. I presume its the LCD screen. So now, whenever I connect the digitizer to the phone, the screen of the LCD turns black again. Now, if I loosely fit the connecting wire to the phone from the digitizer, both display and touchscreen will work. But if I connect it properly, the screen turns black again. Correct me if I'm wrong in the screen names. I need advice on what I should do. Thanks!
the same problem for what i asked advice before...but i have sent it for repair some 20 days ago and its still under repair...mine is still in warranty...so i didnt fiddle with it.
what charger you use? i think my display went dead bcoz of the samsung charger...now i swear not to buy any sony handset ever...never faced a problem with nokia sets for over 10 years...i think i overdosed my handset with flashing and charging...anyway...thats a hardware problem so you better take assistance from a service centre.

I've sent to the Sony service centre. Luckily they accepted it. Same, I have never faced a problem with Nokia phones before. Still good and running. I'll never buy a Sony product again
Too bad Nokia doesn't build Android devices. If it does, I'll certainly buy one. Despite the software Nokia phones had always been the strongest. But I doubt a charger will cause such problems...

[Q] Samsung SIII Gt-i9300 damaged

Hi guys,
I've been using my phone for almost 2 years now, and almost 1 year 364 days have passed since I rooted it
Anyways, it has been acting weird lately. All white backgrounds are marked with black lines, the screen starts fluttering at the simplest functions like dialer, it won't turn the screen on once it's locked. And apps don't install. I've been able to recover most of the data from it.
I can tell that it's not a software problem since I've factory resetted it a number of times and tried flashing 5 different ROMs.
It would be nice if I could know what part of its hardware is damaged so I can get it replaced.
Thanks!
It's either the motherboard or the screen assembly, or both.
To be frank there isn't much to repair on these phones unless the problem is confined to minor components like the camera etc.

Touchscreen bug reintroduced AGAIN on WHITE Z5 Compact, on MM update :(

So some of you with white Z5 compact phones might have had this touch sceen bug with repetitive key presses and unstable touch screen behaviour bug which was previously "fixed" by a software upgrade:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/10/21/white-xperia-z5-compact-touch-screen-fix-arriving-next-week/
Lo and behold. This bug is back in MM, and there is another guy in the thread which I can see also have the bug come back
It is not always there, but sometimes its just there. I dont know what triggers it. A restart seems to help until it comes back again.
For those of you not familiar with this bug, it usually shows by repetitive touches, and highly unstable touch screen.
For example when i press the key "s", it usually put in "sssssss" like i have pushed that key 5-6 times.
Also the bugs shows, when for example you are scrolling in facebook/internet, it will not let you scroll. Whenever you touch the screen, it will enter, whereever you lay your finger on screen.
Lastly it also shows by the screen becoming completely unresponsive when you press anywhere.
I have clean installed MM and restored my apps via Sony Backup/restore app.
I am so pissed how a phone color (white) can somehow decide the behavior of the phone touch screen, and I believe sony is hiding something.
In the beginning I was thinking that maybe they made different builds for the different Z5 colors, so they might not have included the "newest" touch screen drivers for at launch time for the white version.
But the same bug appearing AGAIN in MM i have a very hard time understanding that should be the case that it was a software bug. I believe there are some hardware bug, they have somehow omitted by a software circumvention, and they forgot to add it to the white version for the MM launch.
Personally I have always had a problem with the "return" key when the phone is placed. Patch or not, this button works once out of 10.
For information, I just bought this phone. I also think there is a hardware problem. This is average for a manufacturer like Sony. I thought for a moment it back in service but when I see the number of dissatisfied with the service Sony in France, I preferred to keep my phone in the hope that a solution comes a day. We have the right to expect in my opinion ...
I did clean install via flastool also and i have/had this problem. Yesterday i did software repair via pc companion and restores apps after that and so far problem has not occured.
I also made a repair with PC Companion but nothing changed.
So there are other people here with this annoying problem.
You all have a white xperia yes?
This bug is so annoying I feel sometimes like tossing the phone into a wall.
If there was an alternative to this phone in this form factor and specs, I would have bought it yesterday.
But unfortunately there isn't
It's a poor ground connection from the digitizer most likely. You can replicate this "bug" on any device with a bad USB charger. I had a charger that would cause my Nexus 7 to detect random touches.
The software fix was likely adjusting the voltage threshold for touch events to be considered actual presses. It was likely forgotten about when they updated and just needs to get readjusted again. Too bad we don't have the ability to adjust the threshold ourselves in developer options
That being said I have a white z5c and I've only had this "bug" happen once and I just chalked it up to me being plugged into the wall and didn't think much of it. I use my phone constantly too.

Interesting theory. Do you think it is likely that this issue only occurs for one phone color (WHITE), and then only for some whites.
The assembly line for the phones should more or less be the same, no mater the color.
I also have Sony Z5 compact white version which had the touch problem from start. Now after the Marshmallow update its back. As said above, it could happen while browsing (or on home screen) e.g. Entering links instead of scolling i.e. It triggers multi click. In these situations all menu keys will also be none responsive. Its starts acting normal again after a quick push of the power button, i.e. puttning the screen to sleep.
As a former developer for mobile software, both for apps and the android platform, i thinking i would agree with the above conclusion that the problem is hardware based, and not due to a difference in the delivery software version, as i was hopping. So the question is; will this always be a problem for these versions of Z5c white, i.e. they are forgotten in new builds?
Unfortunately I'm having the same problem with my white z5 compact...

it happens that for different colors are used different materials.. probably white ones have different properties..
i can confirm that using bad cable/chargers this kind of bug happens with every device, with random touches and impossible scrolling.. if you have a well-known bad adapter and you note no differences with your white z5c, that's definitively the answer..
i think sony should recall all white z5cs and replace them with newer or different release
What revision of compact Z5 are you? Personally I have a revision 3 (that is written on the box).
I also had a touch of problem before moving to the latest version of Android (6).
My girlfriend also bought white Z5 Compact and funny thing... I put the Panzer Glass on the screen and guess what? Sometimes she can't turn off the alarm clock in the morning and sometimes navigation buttons are not responding. I tried then without the screen and it works without a problem. I am not sure if this is a problem with Panzer glass or sony's bug.
I have Z5 and have no problems, but mine is black edition
Mine is z5c white version as well. The bug started again on MM
And the bug quite annoying.
I bought it on updated lollipop.
And never had this problem before.
This plus Bluetooth is really making me hold off on not moving up from .200 lol
Argh - just saw the visual representation of this bug:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/10/06/xperia-z5-compact-owners-reporting-touch-screen-problems/
and it sounds A LOT like the one from the OnePlus One (driver & firmware issue)
easy blame: Synaptics - fix your ****
Anyway:
try enabling the double-tap-to-wake if it's not already enabled, lock the screen - give it some time to settle (~ 30 seconds),
wake it up (double-tap) - do some stuff - disable the double-tap-to-wake and lock the screen again.
Unlock it via power button and see if that improved the "situation".
Sony recommended a few times to boot into Safe Mode,
does this Mode exist on Android Marshmallow ?
Does it make any change ?
Had this in Nougat is there a fix?
It feels like a software problem! You can try to reinstall the system!
First consider whether it is a system problem. You can refresh the system to see if it is back to normal. If it still does not, then you may need to update a new LCD screen. You can go online to find the repaired video as a reference. The witrigs repair video is doing great, you can check it out!
